I'm ok during the day, but I can't control my hunger during the night.. I really don't understand why! :/
What could I do?

I'd say to drink water, it'll make you feel full...
...You'll also have to pee... but at least you won't be intaking calories.
And just resist the urge. Easier said then done, right?

its actually good for you
but I have the same problem too and I just snack on bean sprouts or a little dry cereal

Most people don't eat just plain popcorn, though sweatdrop So it's really not all that healthy for you if can't just eat the plan tasteless stuff.

From you talking about "controlling your hunger", it sounds like you get hungry during the day. I think if you just eat until your hunger abates during the day you won't get these midnight cravings.

Fuzzy Necromancer From you talking about "controlling your hunger", it sounds like you get hungry during the day. I think if you just eat until your hunger abates during the day you won't get these midnight cravings. Actually, I'm not hungry during the day, first I spend the morning at uni, then I have like..half an hour to have lunch and leave for work..and I'm so busy there that if I do feel a little hungry I can't eat and eventually it goes away, and then I get home.. at night. Erm, I think you are right about starting to eat healthy things during the day, because I forget to and at night it's worse. And there is nothing between me and my fridge. cry

No I don't, I'm really not used to it, at least..having to make it and taking the time to eat it. I usually end up running, with my lipstick in my hand, to class.

Even just taking a plastic baggy of dry cereal in the morning might be a good idea, or having a nutra-grain bar, or a cold poptart (I'm one of the few people I know who can eat them cold it seems)
From the sound of it, you have your body on an odd eating schedule.
Have you ever heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? It's true. Until you have breakfast, your metabolism is pretty much slowed down for the night. By eating breakfast you begin burning more throughout the day because you begin calories at the very beginning of your day... and you also give your brain fuel... it helps you with school, too.
When you eat in the afternoon, you set your stomach off wanting food, and it isn't going to happen right away (breakfast also seems to be one of the smaller meals of the day). From the sound of it, your setting off your stomach so late it's only starting to kick in at night that it's hungry.
I honestly and seriously suggest you try to have something, anything to eat before you run off to class in the morning. Put in a little extra effort to get yourself on a more normal eating schedule, and just resist when you crave food after 9 or 10 pm. I know it's rough, I'll buy McDonald's at 1am sometimes... partially 'cause my friend helps keep me on an unhealthy eating schedule... but you seriously need to try it. Eat even though you aren't hungry, it'll start your metabolism going, you'll have regular meals during the day and hopefully before it's too late your body will crave dinner, then you'll be good until bed.
There's nothing wrong with snacking throughout the day, it's actually a good weight loss tip... eating smaller portions but continually throughout the day since we were originally hunter-gatherers... but in your case I really think you just need to put the effort into eating some sort of breakfast, at least to fix your problem.

I'm with dread pirate ghosty on this. Eat regular meals during the day and you won't have trouble during the night. I often suffer from breakfast indecision or ennui, but just about anything to start the day should help. If you can't stand fast-food type crap, toast, cereal, and other traditional morning repasts, I suggest you prepare yourself a palatable breakfast in the evening, put it in the fridge, then reheat it in the morning.
Also, don't feel guilty about eating. Food doesn't have a morality-factor unless it used to be something with the capacity for emotion and thought. You wouldn't feel guilty about coughing a lot or blowing your nose, don't shame yourself for hunger.

Yes! If you think you're gonna be late for class, prepare the night before for some form of breakfast that you can grab and go!
...Wait, we're not supposed to feel guilty for that stuff? gonk

Oy...I have the SAME problem. xp I usually eat something light and healthy like fruit; or drink a tall glass of icewater. (sometimes i have cake... sweatdrop bad Roni, bad!! lol) I also have lo-fat snacks. Like...gummi bears. (and strangely they aren't loaded with ze sugar.) But, if you eat balanced meals during the day, you might not be so hungry at night. You gotta make time to eat. wink

Well I've started trying to have breakfast, and if I dont have time I have some coffee and a cereal bar or something at uni during the break with my mates. It's actually helping a lot! I'm not eating as much as before and it feels better, I can even sleep more confortable. Also, I'm reducing the size of my dinner portion a little bit. I had a great idea. I make dinner and serve a reasonable plate, if there is something else left I put it in a tupperware and stick it in the freezer, so I can't actually eat the rest just because I'm bored, nervous, anxious or sad. Plus I have freezed food for whenever I don't feel like cooking. heart
Thanks everyone heart biggrin

Yay! I'm so glad that's been working for you.
And that's a good idea to freeze your food...
