The sun was peaking out behind him as Xantir sprinted to the woods. He had a promise to keep to a mare he wasn't gonna let slip away. The cream stallion had only felt this way once before and he wasn't willing to let it die away again. As the teepee appeared on the horizon he pressed on ignoring the fear that pulled on the back of his mind. "Aeris!!!" He cried not noticing how everything seemed taller in his eyes.
"Aeris! I'm sorry!" He pushed his nose into the teepee not thinking for once. As he stepped inside he felt his blood drain away. His mind sent images of the horrible place where his spikes had been fitted before his eyes. A strangled whinny reached his ears and it took him quite a while to realize the cry was his. Absolutely terrified he turned and ran out of the gentle place that brought back such painful memories.
Breathing heavily a few yards from Aeris' home he took a look back. It made sense why he was scared now but he didn't know how he would explain that to her. He didn't even know how he'd find her not thinking that he could just shout at a distance for her.

Aeris didn't slept well during the night. She just started to sleep when she heard a voice. She didn't realised it was Xantir first. She wake with a start when she heard some strange whinny.
"What happen here ?" she was afraid someone attacked one of her friends during the night but she was alone.
Then she decided to go out to look if there was someone arround. She was not really sure of what she did but she can't just stay and wait. "There is someone here ?" she asked with a unsure voice

A single black tipped ear flicked at the gentle voice. He knew that sound. "Aeris..."He gave her a half smile but he wasn't sure she'd be able to see it in the half light. He wanted to go closer so he could see the clothed mare better but he was still scared. Logic told him that he was no where near that place and he was safe but his memories told him to stay away.
"Aeris, I'm sorry I ran away. I'm sorry." His words were steady so he didn't realize that he was shaking. That night he had gotten his spikes had hurt him much more then the spikes themselves. Not in a physical sense but they would haunt his mind forever plaguing him with fear. "I shouldn't have left without a proper good bye...but I'm here and I can explain everything if you want me too."

Aeris listened to the voice "Xantir is you ?" she remembered what happen just before "So you come back ? Well yes of course i will be happy to hear why you left like this. It really upset me you know." Apparently he didn't want to go closer so it was her who approached him.

He let out a relieved sigh as she approached. He wouldn't have to worry about offending her for not getting close now. "The teepeee...your teepee. It isn't the biggest I've seen like I thought." He glanced over at her looming home as he spoke giving him self shivers. "There was one other...the same size...where I got these." He nodded to the black metal jutting out of his ankles then gave her a week smile. Would that explain everything? Probably not but he had nothing else to say on the matter.
He was sorry, yes, but the whole thing still confused him. He was scared over something that had happened a long time ago in a place far away. It didn't make sense to him so he didn't know why it would make sense to her. Sense or nonsense, that was all he could say and she would have to deal with it or else he feared things would dissolve between them.

She listenned him calmy, thinking of everything he said with his point of you. When he finally finished she sighed. "You morron..." she said with a strong voice. "why did you not tell me this before, i would never proposed you to come in the teepee if i knew it." she approached him and then with a low and soft voice she continued "it may had been really hard for you this time if you can't forget it now. It's alright i understand don't worry." then she nuzzled his nose softly and put her head arround his neck to confort him.

Xantir pulled back with a startled look on his face, he had never been called a moron or anything of the sort before. He opened his mouth a bit to try to explain that he hadn't realized what it was until he was inside but her movement put a stop that. She understood so simply and forgave him just like that. He didn't know if he deserved to even feel a hint of something toward her, but the gesture was so comforting. It felt too right.
"Aeris..."He said as a sad and yet happy smile crossed his face. "Thank you." He spoke no more. Instead he returned the feeling by wrapping his neck around hers so the two were intertwined. It felt right here, as though nothing else needed to be done or said. This new place, the new feeling, this new emotion, was perfect as it was.

The mare smiled at Xantir acts. She was really happy she met him. He passed such difficult moment in the past she really wished she may be able to help him to feel better now. "You're welcome. But now we have a problem..." she laughed softly "Where will we sleep if you can enter in a teepee. The night during winter are really cold."

He smiled, she really wasn't mad. That was a wonderful comfort but she was right. It was far to cold to just stay outside in the weather. "It is...perhaps you could come stay in Miss Tala's teepee until the winter is over. Then it would be fine to stay outside even on the colder nights." Even as he suggested it he had his doubts. With Amoena running in and out nearly constantly not caring who she trampled it didn't seem remotely safe. Yes, it would be warmer but it nearly seemed better to face the elements rather then the young mares wrath.
He sighed as his imagination sent thousands of possibilities through his brain. 'Well...if all else fails I'll go find us a nice cave somewhere...' He thought giving Aeris a kind smile.

Aeris looked at him, she just realised she will have to leave her friends and Chandrika to be with him. She liked him alot so it was okay, but it was still a big shock. She tried to think about it much seriously, living in someone else house. Then finally she said. "I like you, you know it, but i don't want to be apart of my friends too much." she took her breath. "Can it be possible to have our home only for the two of us not to far from here ?"

Xantir furrowed his eyebrows trying to think. A place near by for them to live? That would mean it would be outside in the cold. They would need a cave to even be remotely warm but he only knew of small ones or those far into the mountains. "I don't know a way for that to work..." He said looking at her sadly. "But I know a way. You stay here in your home. I'll stay out here or in the woods."
He didn't know how much he liked his own suggestion but it would work well enough. Aeris could stay with her friends and he...well he could stay near her. That was all that really mattered. After all she was one of the few things that mattered to him in this world.

Aeris looked at him "I don't want" she said frankly. "I mean, hum... you can live in a teepee if it don't look like the one were you passed this difficult moment ?" she blushed a little "we can have our own teepee arround here if it's possible."

Xantir gave her an odd look. Could a pair of horses have their own teepee like she was suggesting? How would they even get it up? He didn't know about Aeris' two legger but his didn't understand a word he said to her. "I'm not so sure about that Aeris...it sounds wonderful but I can't think of a way for it to work." It was times like these when he hated his negative personality. He wished he could just trust what she said without thinking but at this point it seemed impossible. "If we can't live in the same room then please just stay in your home where it's safe. I promise I will stay nearby."

Aeris looked at him and shook her head. "I don't want. If we can't i will come with you of course. But you know i'm sure if Chandrika saw us together she may understand what happen, like your two-legged i'm sure. She put a little house for my friend Krysta and her mate when she discovered they liked each other. Maybe we can have the same things." she stopped a moment. "But it's only if you agree of course. If not i will come at your home with you." she smiled. She was ready to do this if it was to be with him.

"Yours can see?" He asked a bit puzzled practically ignoring the real point. It was just that the only human he had met in these parts was Mushyn and he had assumed that all who lived here were sightless as well. After pondering this for a moment he decided that his two-legger was just an oddity and turned back to Aeris green eyes sparkling with wonderment. "You think she would? I mean really? Its not just going to be one of those...sure to fail things? The idea's wonderful but would it really work?" All his doubts crept into his voice making him sound a bit scared. He would love to be near to Aeris and the fact that her human had already done something of the sort boosted there chances but he didn't know by how much. Not knowing caused problems and to him called for a needed back-up plan.
