heart heart Well, its official! I'm engaged!!!! I have an actual ring now and he officially proposed! I will post the video and some pics when I can. I'm so exicted!!!! The date is set to Dec 28 and I went dress shopping with him yesterday lol. He proposed on Friday. I was not expecting it as I knew he didn't have the money for the ring but his mom lent him money so it would be a surprise! He's such a sweetheart! Anyways, I thought I would let you all know. heart heart

@ Glimare: I was engaged for three years. THAT's a long engagment. (And had to do with us living in Japan, not hesitation on anyone's part.) As for Concrete Angel's engagement, around a year is average. That's about how long it takes to get everything together. The dress alone-- if you're getting it from a shop-- takes about four months and that's not counting finding one you like in the first place.
Concrete Angel, don't despair of finding a dress with sleeves. There are modest dresses and modest shops out there and you can always find yourself a shop or a tailor who is willing to make you a small, matching bolero jacket.

You don't have to shut up. I do wonder, though, about the average length of engagements in your area if 9 months seems like a long engagement. smile

Thanks! And we would get married sooner but he doesn't get a summer break in school. Plus, I would like more time to prepare and like Itesa said, the whole dress ordeal. But, I think I do already have that worked out. We went to the store and I tried some on the day after and I found some styles I liked and I'm looking into getting one custom made.
As for Matt (aka Paladin) he is getting better. He has a flu at the moment though lol. But he has been able to have good appointments and he is slowly getting better. He still has a lot to go but its good.
As for pics, I'm working on it. My cd drive is broke so I can't put the pics onto my laptop.
