Fox ears perked and twitched in the slight breeze, listening and not surprised that they heard nothing. Ice had been reading more and letting Veive wander as long as she stayed within hearing range. Whose hearing range was never mentioned so Veive used it to her advantage...moving further then she might have ought to. Tucking her dress around her neatly, she leaned back against a large oak, just inside the forest's tree line. It wasn't common for Veive to just sit and relax but things had been getting to her lately, things that had started to disturb her. First, the daggers from the dream. Then, her sudden revrence for the water and attachment to it when she should have despised it, not to mention her growing control over it. Finally, her personality and morphed into almost two seperate ones...that of a strong-willed individual who didn't care about anything, and that of scared child.
As the sun shone on her silvery hair, Veive closed her eyes and growled at the pain that had started to cross her tiny forehead. Far too much thinking on a day like this.

It was unusual for Alek to go this far away from home, but Anala wanted out and he wanted out, and it happened to be one of those days made for getting out and away. They'd wandered about for a while before ending up in a clearing near the forest. Anala, dressed in an old, faded pair of pants and a t-shirt, wriggled demandingly; she wanted down.
She took a couple wobbly steps before losing her balance, landing in the grass with a soft fwump. Alek started, but quickly relaxed when Anala sat up, very much unharmed. She made a face at her failure, but didn't fuss too loudly, taken in by the scenery around her. The sky was beautiful, the grass was beautiful, the trees...all very beautiful. She crawled towards the trees with Alek limping behind her. As Anala got closer and closer, she began to make out a form among the trees, a girl with bright hair. She seemed intensely familiar somehow, but Anala couldn't quite place her.

((Oh, and I looked back, there is one or two entries about Anala in my journal on the front page. ^_^ ))
Ice pushed aside tree branches and cursed under her breath, disgruntled that Veive had wandered off and now she was tasked with finding her. It wasn't bad when she stayed by the lake but Ice hated it when she wandered into the woods, out of plain sight. Shoving her way through a particularly dense part, and wrenching her dress free of some unkind bushes, she almost stumbled into somone else. "Oh, I'm sorry." She said quickly out of reflex.
Veive was so caught up in her own thoughts that she only vaguely heard the sound of others nearby. Turning, she saw a small figure approching her and she narrowed her eyes, trying to ascertain if it was friend or foe that had found her. As her eyes slowly regestired blue-tipped wings her attention was caught by Ice's voice. She had been found it seemed and by more then just Ice.

((Ok. xD Man, trying to visualize this area is nutty. 8D; ))
Although Ice didn't actually stumble into Alek, he still lost balance, panicking. He staggered a little, arms held out in an attempt to keep upright. Once he was stable, he laughed, turning toward Ice with a sheepish smile. "Eh, no problem? No harm done."
Anala reached Veive without a hitch, stopping just in front of her. Sitting back on her feet, somewhat like a dog, Anala peered up at this silvery girl. She was very pretty, she decided. Very pretty indeed, and... And what? Anala furrowed her brow, trying to figure out what she thought. A few minutes passed, but all Anala could manage was a short "Vei...vei...bu." Anala frowned, shaking her head. Best to set that aside for a moment. Looking up at Veive, she grinned and pointed at herself. "Na."

((I'm just picturing a really dense forest with alot of trees and underbrush... ^^; ))
Ice smiled and returned the little laugh. "Well that's always good to know." Brushing her hair out of her face, she held out her hand polietly. "I'm Ice. Are you another Guardian?" She asked, assuming that he may be. It seemed like there had been a sudden explosion of Illusionaries lately and an equally large growth in the number of Guardians.
Veive sat foreward and looked at the baby curiously. "Na...? What does....ANALA?!" Her eyes went wide as her ears and tail went rigid in shock. This was her sister?! She hadn't changed since the last time she had seen her which meant that there was still that odd cummication gap. When they ahd first appeared in this world they had simply used thoughts, but as they had grown that form of talking had gotten harder.

((Ok. xD I thought it was a field with trees at the edges at first.))
Alek shook her hand, raising his eyebrows. "Guardian? Well, I'm Anala's guardian, if that's what you mean." He put his hands behind his back, thinking. "Or at least...I think I am. I just found her and since no one's come for her yet, I guess I am for now, at least." Frankly though, Alek thought it was highly unlikely that someone might come for Anala. Even if they did, he wasn't sure if she would go with them; he had enough trouble trying to get her to stay with Ms. Boot during school.
Anala clapped her hands together, nodding. Her wings fluttered happily. She was glad; her current inability to articulate had her worried that Veive wouldn't be able to understand her. Her memory was still a little fuzzy, but the most important bits were coming back. "Sis. Sis hi." In a moment, she would try projecting her thoughts, but for now she wanted to stick with what she could do.

((Opps, sorry, I was thinking more in the forest...^^ wink )
Ice shook his hand happily but her eyes went a little wide at the mention of Anala. She remember the little phoenix girl well since she was the opposite, and the sister, of her own Illusion. "Anala? Is she by chance a little illusion girl with blue tipped wings?" If it was, then it seemed that Autumn had moved on and would explain why she hadn't seen her in quite some time.
Veive edged closer to the little girl, her shock slowly retreating. This was most defiantly her sister. "Umm...hi." Was all that she could manage right now. She hadn't seen her in nearly a year and was still extremly fuzzy on how they had interacted in their past life so it was hard to think of what to do next. Hugging seemed far too odd at this moment, at least to Veive, so she wasn't sure of what to do or say. "Umm...how are you, Anala?" Moving closer, she sat down next to her sister and attempted to talk to the best of their combined ability.

((lol, it's ok. xD))
Alek tilted his head curiously. "Well yeah, she is pretty much. What do you mean by illusion though?" As far as he knew, illusions were things that weren't really there, but Anala was, well, solid. And he was pretty sure he wasn't going nuts...
Anala tilted her head as well, thinking. "...Ok. Wi'h Al, Al bring here." She spoke slowly, trying her best to say the words correctly. "Al ok." She leaned forward towards Veive, curious. "Sis ok? Sis big'r." Veive had definately grown, which at once pleased and slightly vexed Anala, if only because she couldn't be on the same eye-level as Veive anymore.

Ice looked at the boy curiously. She hadn't thought of the possibility that someone could be a Guardian and not know it. Veive had come to her as a little form of water, and she had been told exactly what she was. "Well, that's what Anala is. I'm the Guardian of her sister, Veive. I don't know why they're called illusions, but I do know that they aren't human and they grow a LOT faster. I've seen a few diffrent ones and each is diffrent...but I don't think I've met any that were 100% human." Thinking for a moment she furrowed her brow. "You didn't think her wings were odd?"
Veive strained to understand her sister and thought she got the basic idea. "Al...I guess that's your guardian now...right? Huh." Sitting back she though about how to answer if she was okay or not. "I guess I'm okay. I've started to remember a little but enough to make sense of anything. You?" She giggled a little at her sisters comment on her getting bigger. "And I'm surprised you haven't grown Anala. Maybe we weren't twins and I was older." Grinning, she stuck her tongue out to tease her sister.

((lol, I forgot to mention but Alek is 15. Maybe he's a beanpole or summat, I haven't really thought about it. xD))
"I see, I think." So Anala had a sister? Idly he wondered whether or not he would be meeting Veive today, since her mother was here. It'd be interesting. "Well...sort of. Not really? I mean, it is kinda wierd, but this is Gaia, you know? Between my neighbors, her, and a couple classmates at school, I think I got used to seeing people with animal parts." He smiled slightly, remebering the first time he ever laid eyes on a furry-tailed human.
"Good." Anala smiled, glad Veive was okay. Her smile then faded, Anala raising her eyebrows. "'mem'er? 'mem'er wha? Na 'mem'er no'ing much. New." Anala pouted, slightly upset at having no memories to share. But there was no rushing it, she'd remember whenever she was going to remember. Anala gave a short laugh at the rest of Veive's words and stuck her tongue out in return, 'nyahhh'-ing. "If Na grow, big'r than sis. E'en if sis older." She stuck out her chest, quickly giving in to giggles.

((Okay, changed to "boy" in my last post. ^_^ Oh, and Ice is about 19. ))
Ice thought about it and nodded alittle. "I guess that's right. I guess you have to know one when they're really little to understand." Thinking for a moment she decided to try to explain it alittle. "Well, you see...Illusions are well, creatures, for lack of a better word since not all are human, that come from another world. I'm not quite sure exactly how they get to gaia but when they do they appear as little essences or items. Sometimes even an odd animal. The person who finds them becomes their guardian to take care of them so they don't get hurt since they're so frail." She shrugged and laughed a little. "I never really questioned why they were called Illusions since they're all real...but that's the short form. They're real....umm...species?...is an Illusionary." Smiling nervously she realized just how stupid that must have sounded but it was the best she could do.
Veive sighed inwardly. She had hoped that Anala had remembered something of their past together, anything really. Besides the fact that they used to preform together she wasn't even sure how they used to behave with each other. It was odd enough to have to start from scratch with an old friend...but your sister? And maybe, she hoped, remembered who had had her exiled for her run in for the mermaid...or could explain how she herself had been exiled since Veive had already been gone at that point. "I understand. We'll just have to wait and see what comes to us." She leaned back against a tree again as a smile crossed her lips at her sisters remarks. "Somehow I doubt that, pip-squeak...but we'll see." Her grin widened as she teased Anala.

Alek nodded. He understood it well enough, but did have a couple questions left. "So, they start out as little essence-y item-things and become children...and they're frail? Like sickly frail, really?" He raised his eyebrows. That was odd; Anala seemed pretty healthy from what he could tell. He smiled slightly then, asking, "If you don't mind telling me, what did Veive start out as? I'm a little curious." He was also curious about what Anala began as, but he wasn't sure if he should ask; would it be assuming too much to think Ice knew?
"No' pip-squee," Anala chirped, grinning. "Will be so!" She leaned forward, putting her hands on the ground. "When Na grow, Na big'r an' run fas'er. Run now no. Walk no." She frowned. The clothes Alek and his brother found fit well enough and let her move freely, but that didn't mean too much if she couldn't balance on two legs. There was so much more one could do upright! Another grin appeared then, Anala getting an idea. "Big'r, will race?"

Ice nodded as he talked, confirming what he repeated back to her but she stopped at the frail part. "Well, when they first come to Gaia they're frail cause they aren't fully part of our world. The longer they're here, the...umm, stronger they become I guess." Now even she felt unsure. It was hard to explain something that didn't make perfect sense even to you. "Oh, Veive? Veive started off as a water droplet. A rather large one, but just water." Now the voices of the sisters had reached her and why couldn't tell what they were saying she could tell where they were. "I think Anala found her if you want to see what she looks like now."
Veive shrugged and grinned. "Well, we'll see midget. I still think you'll be smaller the me." A sudden pang of sympathy filled her for Anala not being able to walk. Veive had been a fox cub so she could walk but was denied the ability to speak...at all. Anala could at least talk, but walking was preferred, especially to someone who used to be a dancer. That must be as hard as Veive not being able to sing for awhile. "Race? Sure. But only if you don't cheat." Leaning over she poked Anala's wings and grinned. "Deal?"

"I see..." Unable to think of anything else to say for the moment, Alek lapsed into silence. He kept his eyes ahead, listening to the voices of the sisters, wondering if Veive looked anything like Anala.
"Deal. Na no chee anyway." Anala stuck her tongue out again, slightly miffed but still cheerful. Cheat? She would never! Anala's wings twitched away from Veive's fingers, a laugh bursting from Anala's lips. She squirmed, giggling. "Tickles! No touch!"

Ice giggled a little and shook her head, auburn hair falling forward over her shoulders. "I don't think you do, but that's okay. None of us do at first...and honestly, I don't think we'll ever fully understand them." Anala's giggles caught her attention and she turned, to walk towards it, only in after thought stopping to wait for Alek. "Are you coming?"
"Your wings are ticklish?" Veive asked, raising an eyebrow and smiling. "Now that's interesting..." Leaning forward she reached out and began to poke her wings gently with both hands.
