I heard it was a good game, and was trying to get it yesterday, but it was all sold out! gonk

For those who have it, what do you think of the game?
What's it about?

For those who don't, do you want it? What do you think you'll like/hate about it?

*raises his hand waving it around a bit* I have, I have! It's a pretty good game. The story was really well done. It's about... Well.. >.< I can't say... I have a hard time describing the game without spoiling things that occur towards the end of it.

I picked it up at about the same time as PW2, and it kept me from even starting the game. XP

I heard about Hotel Dusk long ago and wanted to pick it up, I do own it, in chapter 6 right now. Anyways, when I first heard of it I heard the description that your a detective in a hotel. And when they released "Touch Detective" I thought, when I heard the name of it, it was Hotel Dusk, but when I saw the cover art I shook my head and said. "This isn't that game" Even though it did take place in a hotel and you are a detective, it wasn't true. But when I finally saw previews for it and knew its Name. I Bugged my local gamestop every day to know when it was on pre-order because I knew that game was gonna be an uber rare game 3nodding then after I bought it I lost it for two months.... cry But then I found it in the folds of my couch... sweatdrop

I'm on Chapter 2 now, after buying it Saturday.

Unfortunately, my DS' battery ran out, and I've failed to find the charger.

Aww man, I hope it doesn't up as a hard game to find later... whee

Are the puzzles really hard?
I mean, I have Trace Memory, and there were a few bits that had me stumped most of the time. sweatdrop
(And then I realized you had to examine EVERYTHING to get a good ending...geez... stare )

It's done by the same people that did Trace Memory, though it isn't as short as that game. I've loved both so far! Trace Memory was a bit more child-like (well, as much as it can be revolving around a set of murders at least), while Hotel Dusk is much more serious. If it weren't for the fact that the local Target had one copy left, I probably wouldn't get the game until a few months from now. This game is ubber rare around here....

But it was pure luck I found their one and only copy of it...and I can say that I definitely love the game! How often do you play an a*****e of a former cop that tells it straight that he doesn't care? As far as the mystery elements go, I love it more than Trace Memory and Touch Detective combined...though I will say Touch Detective has a quirkiness that makes Phoenix Wright look like NYPD Blue...LOL...which is just too cute in a weird way...LOL...

I say if you can find Hotel Dusk, and also loved Trace Memory, get it! Unless it becomes such a major hit, I doubt they'll release a lot more copies of it...though I could be wrong...However, I'm sure if they do make more copies, it'll be a good while from now...like at least a year or two...kind of like how Disgaea was...

That's what I'm dreading. xp
I think it's been a pretty major hit so far, so I'm crossing my fingers here.
MAybe I'll get lucky like my copy of Phoenix Wright... ninja

I like the fact that this game's much longer, though-I thought Trace Memory was a little too short. Even though I really liked playing Trace Memory, I think it would have been even better if they could have made it a bit longer (and stopped quizzing people after every stage. I don't know why, but that annoyed me.).

I've waited ages for Hotel Dusk, I'm hoping its as good as people say it is.
It came out a couple of days ago (Stupid UK release dates ment I had to wait about a billion years for ti) and I just got my copy, just finished chapter 1 and I love the way it plays. mrgreen

I will be playing Hotel Dusk, eventually. Right now, though I'm busy with some other stuff at the moment.

Unfortunately, they do the quizzing thing in Hotel Dusk as well...that does get annoying...keep in mind that this game is harder though at the quizzes, but still fairly easy if you've been paying attention...

Oh, and a bit of warning, if you do get a gameover (which is actually easy to do after a certain point) DON'T retry...turn it off and go through it from the last save spot...you'll get the better ending that way...I goofed up and retried once the first time I got a gameover, and didn't get the full ending...!_!

Is there any kind of impact in the game if you answer wrong in the quizzes?

Why is it so easy to get a gameover?
(They even made retry buttons evil! *GASP*)
I like that it has multiple endings-is it more than just good + bad?

I'm so stuck on Hotel Dusk.
(POSSIBLE SPOILER dont read if you're not past chapter 7)

I was doing really well and I didnt get 1 game over until i got locked in that stupid air tight room, I've absolutly no idea what to do. I've fixed the machine but now what? I just seem to run out of air on a regular basis.
Can anyone help please?

Well, as far as I'm aware of, there's just an ending and a plus ending...I don't think there's really a bad ending, though the regular ending is just that...regular...

As far as the quiz thing goes, I'm not sure...I never messed up in it...and I say "a certain point" moreso for the fact that each chapter gets harder and harder...I found the first few chapters really easy, but once it focused on Jeff Damon, that's when I realized it was getting harder...

Ack! I hated that part! It took me forever! Let me see if I can recall all of it from memory...though you might want to check GameFAQs like I did when I was playing it...LOL

Basically, the first thing you look at is the lone book on the shelf that will tell you about pencil lead...then look at the book about Osterzone (did I get that name right? LOL)...you said you knew how to turn the thing on, so I won't touch on that...LOL...be careful along the way not to look at the same item more than once, or look at something pointless like all those boxes in the corner...read the letter and use it on the machine, which should let you look at the letter and type in the code at the same time...afterwards, it'll relay a message and dunderbutt, I mean, Louie will come in for the rescue...don't ask me how solving something in an airtight room cues him to come and rescue you as opposed to just sitting still and running out of air...LOL...I might have lost something important along the way, but the amount of moves they allow makes it rough...I nearly gave up on the game because of that...LOL

Whoo! I found Hotel Dusk! XD
I just got it, and I've already gotten stuck on some of the easiest things...guess I'm not the best detective. xp

It was a difficult game in some parts. I got stuck several times in places but when I realized what I had to do I wondered...is all of this not common sense or do I have to have a better memory to play this game? Several of the times I got stuck because I could not remember what I was doing last.
