Bobby looked up wearily as the guard brought his meal. "Meatloaf again, George? Ooh, and what's this? Fruit punch! You really shouldn't have, George." George wasn't the guard's real name, but Bobby didn't know his real name since he wouldn't talk at all, so Bobby called him George. The guard waited while Bobby ate and drank, then took the paper plate and cup with him when he left.

Ora made a quick stop at the dungeon, but as she entered, she appeard to be a pretty southern girl, with bright red curls. "Sugar, look at you. Gettin' yourself all beat up again." She leaned against the wall, putting a hand against the bars of the cell. "Why don't you ever take care of yourself right, Bobby? Always, leavin' me to fix you up, an' make it better." She pouted, "you don't have to be in here Bobby, you could be with me, you know. There ain't nothin' in the world that can't be yours if you'd join, even me."
((Ora is officially far more evil than her mother ever was.))

Bobby looked up at her. "I'd give that performance a...5. You've almost got the look right, and the accent, but the lines are way off." He looked down again. "Go away, little girl. I won't help you kill people. I've been telling your father that ever since he put me here."

I won't help you kill people. I've been telling your father that ever since he put me here." "But you're already helping us Braddock, or have you forgotten so quickly?" She smiled, but kept the form of Ruby, the dimple still in her cheek. "A 5, hmm? And I was trying so hard. Even trailed her for a while, just to get it down right. Left her a present also. Silly Rebecca Jo, she'll be easy enough to destroy. Of course, I don't have to kill her, if it happened to be in my interest to keep her alive." She glanced at Bobby, the grey eyes reverting to Ora's dark red.

"But not to kill - the devices I've designed don't hurt people. As for Ruby, she's died three times that I know of...doesn't seem to take. Threatening her won't do you any good." He paused for a moment, "But if you really want me, just step on in here. You'll have all you can handle - and more."
((Did I mention that the cage is a null-field, rather than Bobby wearing a bracelet or something? Xeen doesn't trust him getting that close to the circuits.))

And we all eventually run out of lives to lose." She stepped away from the cage. "And I appreciate the offer, but I don't take what lesser women have turned down."

Bobby slumped back down in his seat. It had been worth a try - to get his hands on her without the bars or her powers to protect her...

Bobby had been telling the truth - to a point. Threatening Ruby didn't motivate him to join with the Soltaris, but it would motivate him to try and escape again. He looked around the room outside his cage. Since his last attempt, Xeen had moved the null-field controls to where he couldn't see them, so he'd have to get out without using powers. What did he have to work with? Just his clothes, cot, blanket, and writing materials. And some money, but none of the guards in here were susceptible to bribery. He spotted movement from the corner of his eye - a pair of shiny black eyes watching from a crack in the wall. Hmmm....
