More specifically his magic. Sorry, but I really don't want to divulge all of his secret past and stuff, though it's not so secret anymore.. Or is it?
Anywho, those of you who've been paying attention have probably noticed that Arlen's abilities manifest as differently colored fire. Shocking isn't it.
Anywho, there's really only one type that he's used (barring the one outburst that blanked his magic out for a while) and that's the White Flame. The important thing to remember about the White Flame, and all of his abilities, is that it's not good or holy in any way shape or form. It's barely even fire except for the way it acts. The White Flame's physical characteristics are that it's always pleasantly warm and is about as tangible as partially ethereal jello, it gives off little light unless it's beeing concentrated. The way it works is basically telling the body to heal the targeted injury and supplying the energy and small amounts of matter that's needed. Thus it can heal old injuries that could heal on their own, like scars, by having the body try to heal them again, but cannot heal something the person couldn't heal on their own, like a lost limb for most humans wouldn't grow back. It also lowers any physical pain that might be afflicting the person while they're beeing healed. However, the White Flame is completely useless when trying to heal an injury that's beeing preserved by magic.
I hope that helps, and makes sense to people other than me. I'll add more when Arlen develops them.

Okay, so Arlen now has three more types of fire for him to use so I guess I'll explain them in part.
Azure Glare, the second one he gained real control over is, as one might expect from the name blue in color and quite bright. The primary use of the Azure glare is to see things. Whether that be lighting up a dark area or looking through it as another set of eyes. Additionally, it can be used to heighten perceptions to see things in greater clarity, see through many illusions, and even see into the future supposedly. Finally, the Azure Glare can be used offensively in a way by blinding other people.
Crimson Blaze, is the first truly offensive flame there is. Pretty much it is fire that is much hotter than it appears, the heat does not radiate far from it, and it also has an edge to it leaving targets with a cut and burn, though the first is usually well cauterized. That's about it.
The Verdant Flame is so far the most exhausting of the flames for Arlen to use. It is green in color and on it's own gives off almost no heat or light. However it is unique in that it is solid and that it can sustain itself once separate from Arlen's body or any source of fire.
