It was almost past noon when Shira groaned at the blasphemy of it all. She had just reached to the front of the cash register, having to wait almost half an hour in the checkout line. This is what happened to those who waited until the last minute to buy grocceries and other necessities. As many times as this happend to her, you'd suppose she would learn.
"Finally." Other items items rattled as Shira threw out everything in her basket, which was a ridiculously large amout. The cashier stared at the Shira as she wiped her brow. Shira smiled at Demos as he sat in the cart playing with her necklace again as she was leaning on the cart. Shira glanced up, her face changed when she faced the young blonde behind the register. "Sometime today would be nice."
After paying and grabbing majority of the grocceries in one hand, Shira lifted Demos out of the cart and settled him on her hip before walking out of the store and into the cool air that surrounded the town market.
"So," She looked around for her next destination, "what else do you we need, little one?" They made their way into the small crowds as they navigated through the center of the array of shops.

"This is the last time I listen to that good-for-nothing sonuva--" Ryusuke's obscenities were cut short by the jingling of keys. Aurora had not yet mastered the fine art of 'grabbing', but she understood well enough that bracelets with many long shiny objects would make a pretty sound when clashed together.
Ryu cuddled the infant in her arms and pulled her along down the road of shops. As the guardian peered into the window of the local book-store; she heard a strange noise. Glancing around her curiously, her eyes eventually focused on her young charge. "Aurora?" she quarried, examining what the child's hand was doing. "Your hand... You're learning to grasp!" she smiled, holding the child high in the air in utmost of praise. The girl basked in the glory for only a moment, before her eyes again focussed on her target, making the strange gesture towards it. Ryu finally turned her head towards the girl's subject of attention. "A book?" "Bu~~" the girl mimicked, not knowing what it was her mother was saying. Ryu, being the considerate individual she was, went over and picked it up. She looked forward and back along the strip mall, hoping to return the reading material to it's rightful owner.

Shira grimanced and swore through clenched teeth as she lifted her shoe out a large puddle, it being soaked up to the ankle of her right foot. "Well that's just great." Demos blew a raspberry as he scrunched up his face, an attempt to mimic his mother's expression. Laughter and clapping hands following immediatly after, his mommy always made the funniest faces!
The small hood on his sleeveless attire was tugged at to cover his eyes, both knowing it as a playful gesture. "Very funny, smart guy." The very beginnings of a pre-mature smirk could be seen on the young one's face.
"Whatever. We deserve a break anyway, right Demmy?" Shira settled herself on bench not to far from them, with Demos in her lap and four large paper bags sitting in front of her feet. Demos occupied himself with playing with his mini-hoodie strings.
"...Crap!" Demos blinked and looked to his guardian, who was currently going through her black sidebag in a frantic search for something. He reached for her face as if to get her attention. "Da?"
"That bargain book I got from that one of those vendors! I can't believe I lost it! I just bought that stupid thing!" Shira closed her bag with an aggrivated sigh. Suddenly he was lifted up and back on his mother's hip- the bags snatched up as well- and was going back the way they came, her eyes searching every spot the came upon as she walked back to the last store she came from.

Ryu examined the book calmly, glancing over the cover. "European classic..." she murmured, eyes drifting up and down the crowded walkway. Perhaps it was fate that compelled the child, or maybe it was dumb luck. What ever the reasoning, the young deity turned her head away from the paper clad reading material and blinked at the child who passed by in the arms of another woman. She reached out and let out a garbled sound, catching the attention of her own watcher. Her hoofed heals clicked a bit as they tapped against each other, as if trying to run to the other child. Ryu struggled to manage the squirming infant, deciding to hold her just a little tighter. "Behave yourself," she whispered into the girl's ear. "You're kicking up your dress! You know we'll be in trouble if anyone sees your legs."
Aurora looked back, her big doughy eyes staring into the depths of the adult's soul. One hand reached out again to the odd pairing that continued to walk away from them. "Baa..." she said, that infantile sweetness showing through.
The guardian grimaced. She couldn't deny those eyes.... And so she turned after the mother and child, not understand how or why her daughter decided to fallow these strange people.

A dramatic sigh was let out as Shira bowed her head in defeat. The rare image of her pouting, shown to the random city folk who only cared that she was standing in the middle of the sidewalk. If it was one thing Shira was always a sentimental baby about, it was her books. The book was for an idea she had on the spot when she saw it, and it was cheap to boot. Another short story down the drain...
"Da!" Demos was tugging at her sleeve in annoyance, soon gnawing at the pale-green fabric. The shirt soaked up the drool and Shira looked down in mild disgust.
"You can't be serious. Are you hungry again?" She would've laughed at the angry/cute expression she received had it been another moment, and another shirt he was eating. "Ick...fine fine." She didn't bother taking her shirt out of his mouth, seeing as how she couldn't do it without dropping something, and turned to find a resturant.
She didn't glance around long, but instead of noticing places to dine, she saw another woman with a child in an oddly long dress looking right at them. Demos a small noise and stared, while Shira merely lifted a brow, looked around, and waited. The woman would probably pass her up, in search for someone else.

Ryu glanced away, adjusting her glasses stubbornly. One thing she had always hated was being noticed, especialy by the one she was tracking. Her eyes drifted over an american style resteraunt as she continued down the walk.
Realiseing that her mother was walking right past the other child, Aurora reached up, flapping her hands around, smacking her mother lightly a few times. "Buu...!!" she complained, acting strangely yet again. Ryusuke grabed both of child's small hands at once, looking the infant streight in the eyes. "Do not strike me, child. If you want something, you will ask politely. Do you understand?" The child's smile faded a little, looking down in shame. She pulled a hand away gently and reached out to the other couple. "Buu.." she said meekly, not desireing another scolding. Ryu smiled and nodded, kissing the girl's broad forhead. "That's a good girl." And with this, the caretaker reached into her deep pocket, visably extracting the book and strode over to the young woman and her son. "Buu!" the girl squealed in excitement, clappiung her hands togeather fervantly. "She says that you look like a reader." With that statement, she held out the dime novel.

Blinking at the excited squeals and antics of the child, Shira looked up at the book then the mother. "Oh-!" She grabbed the book with a relieved smile. "I was looking for this everywhere..." She glanced over the title quickly and was satisfied as she found no harm had came to the book. She put it away in one of the many bags she held in her one hand.
"I'm grateful that your daughter is so good at locating forgetful people. I have to thank you again finding it." She lifted Demos higher in distraction, his fidgeting becoming a problem as he started to wrinkle her shirt. "Demos?"
"Da," Was the only thing he said. His head on his mother's shoulder with a thumb in his mouth, wide eyes blinking at the other child in a curious fashion.

Aurora giggled cutely, snuggling her mother close; as if to hide her face in her mother's shirt. Ryu, likewise adjusting her posture to fit the child's needs, simply nodded and cuddled the babe in her arms. "I couldn't let such a work of art be left alone on the streets." The goddess began to fidget again, her curiosity overcoming her minute shyness to the point of reaching at the other child. "Buuuuuu...!" She began flapping her hand, this action being very similar to the one Ryu earlier had mistook for violence. Taking the babe's hand and pulling it back, the guardian leaned closer and whispered to her charge a few simple words, the infant's mood intently changing from nonsense to strict understanding.

Demos's eyes had lit up when being reached out to. He couldn't scoot back any further, unless he wanted to hurt his poor butt on the concrete. But he attempted to anyway, leaning into his mother and ignoring her chuckle at his ridiculous antics. None-the-less his attention was held by the child. So when Shira had nodded in regards to the older woman's comment, he gave the impression of a wave with the strange wiggling of his fingers.
After a pause, she spoke up again. "My name's Shira Anzen, by the way. And this little one here is Demos." She patted the red tuff of hair.

"Ryusuke Schwartz." she replied calmly. "And this one is Aurora." Again, she began to pull at the child's skirt. Ever so paranoid, it seemed she was unable to keep herself from worrying over discovery. Aurora, however, cared not for the obsessive behavior of her mother. Simply reaching out, she mimicked the other child's motion; giveing an uncomprehensive wave at the boy.
(*flail* I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I should be shot for this, I'm sorry!!!)

Demos noticed the other lady pulling at the child's skirt again. He grunted. Why was the bigger lady playing with it so much? He grunted and slowly leaned forward, away from his mother.
"It's nice to meet both of you." she smiled politely. "And I think Demos thinks the same...?" Demos heard his name and froze. He had unknowingly gripped his mother's shirt during the parent's conversation, gnawing at it in thought, and stretching it in his state of curiousity. He looked up at his mother.
"...It seems that my son is very intrigued by your daughter." She said a bit irritably and pulled up the bags to reach Demos's hand, taking it away from her shirt. A barely audible, "That's disgusting, kid" made it to Dem's ears. She recieved a pout in response.

Aurora tilted her head to the side. This boy was strange, indeed. Cute, but strange. Of course, she wasn't one to be thinking such things, considering the state of her own irregular bodily aspects. "It seems Aurora shares the same curiositive spark." the mother replied, stroking her daughter's curly locks. The girl, too, recognized her name and looked towards her mother. "Aaaooo?" she cooed playfully. She knew her mother didn't understand her.. but this, of course, didn't stop her from trying. "Yes, Dear," the mother said, placing a gentle kiss upon the babe's forehead. "We're talking about you." "Aaoo <3" she giggled in response, soaking up the love and attention like a sponge.

Dem watched the girl with a careful eye. She seemed interesting enough. He had only met two other kids since he was first let out the apartment. And that was Vishy and Di....dia...a...oh he couldn't even say his name in his head! Why did people have such difficult names? He couldn't say his own name, much less someone else's. Speaking of which, what was this girl's name again? Something row-rah? She was pretty. Prettier than Di now that he thought about it. But were boys supposed to be pretty?
It was obvious that the boy was spacing out. It hadn't been his first time, and was quickly becoming a common reoccurance. Demos was knocked out of his strange train of thought as stomach betrayed his curiousity by growling loudly.
Shira looked down at her son in surprise and he looked up with another pout. "Da!" Food!
"Oh...I'd completly forgot." She looked to the two in front of her. "We were actually on our way to go get some food." She didn't miss the glances Dem set back and forth between the little girl and her- something he normally did when he wanted something. On any other day her answer to him would have been no, but...
"Um...would you two care to join us?" She said the last part with a bit of uncertainty. She wasn't accustomed to initiating social interactions with those she'd just met. She'd actually rather just walk away. But her doubt faded a bit when Demos smiled up at her, pleased.

Ryu shook her head calmly. She also wasn't accustomed to the afore mentioned 'social interactions', but to a much farther extent. "I appreciate the offer, but--" Her words were cut short by a light 'MAH!' from the girl. Aurora, too, didn't care to leave the company so soon. Her soft eyes stared at her mother, pleading wordlessly to stay. "Er-" The mother began awkwardly. It was hard for her to say no to that look... Oh, what could be the harm? I'm here to watch over her... "Aurora and I would be honored, thank you." The little girl smiled and nuzzled her mother's neck. So what if she didn't know the words? She knew her mother was doing something out of her way for her, and that was certainly more then enough to merit a hug.

Shira had been pulling on Demos's cheeks, making him whine, with the motivation that he'd made her do something completly against her nature- again. She paused in her antics when Ryusuke accepted the offer. It took her brain a quick moment to realize she'd gotten the opposite answer she expected before she took a hasty gander at her current surroundings. Demos made random expressions as he tried to remove the tingling feeling from his face. Why did this woman always torment him?
"Well then," Shira scratced at her head in thought. Smoke caught her eye, and she noticed the small chimmey it was coming from. Asian characters shone in neon red, along with an open sign, not too far from them. "You wouldn't have anythin' against chinese would you?" She tried. Shira didn't care for whatever they ate, so as long as she got something in the kid's stomach to stop him from eating her shirt.
((HOLY crap took too long. >>''))
