Halloween's eyes glowed in the light of the moon. Nght was the time she was most active. She enjoyed walking the night, listening to the sounds of the creatures in the trees and under brush. She especially liked watching the predators, at a safe distance of course. They were the most fascinating when they were hunting down unsuspecting prey. Tonight Halloween was watching a particular owl. The owl was settled in a dead tree at the edge of a grassy area. She had settled to the edge of the grassy area to where she could see the owl and all of the open plain. Everything seemed rather quiet and Halloween didn't even dare move should she upset that quiet.

The silver rings bound at his throat chimed as the phantom thief skimmed across the treetops. Ebony wings rose and fell gracefully as he turned about in the air. He chuckled proud of the nights activities. Dangling from his mouth was a stunning turquoise pendant framed with many dagger like teeth. The only question was where to hide them. Grinning he saw the perfect place just before him, a tree with a hole bored into it. It wasn't very big but it would work until he found somewhere bigger.
Doing his best to hold altitude he stuck his muzzle into the little nook and deposited his little trinket. Letting a bit of bark-like laughter into the sky he swooped down not noticing the mare three feet in front of him until he was to close. "Woah!" He turned upward quickly then dropped down to the ground to face her. "You blend right into the shadows my dear..."

The owl flew from the dead tree only moments before the winged stallion came into Halloween's view. She watched him with wide eyes. She could not see what he was doing to the tree but it was sure he didn't notice her as he nearly landed on her. Her heart thrummed in her chest as she peered at the stallion now standing before her. She did her best to slow her breathing and slow her heart down before she was finally able to speak. "Yeah... And I'm thinking now that might be a bad thing." She replied. Her body was actually shaking now though ever slightly not enough to really be noticed. He'd scared her more than she had expected.

He chuckled finding some amusment in what she said. "Actually I find that it's fairly useful." He said stretching his wings before folding them neatly at his sides. He loved being able to melt right into the night sky. He couldn't be caught with a skill like that. Though in her case he could see why it would be unfortunate.
He stepped forward and bowed his head gracefully giving her a smile. "I'm sorry I nearly hit you...but at this point I feel rather lucky for it." He straightened up and flashed her a smile tilting his chin up tossing his spikey mane about. "I'm Dark Mousey. May I ask your name beautiful?" He lowered his head and locked his blood red eyes with hers.

Halloween kept her ears perked and watched the stallion closely. His graceful bows kept her attention on his face. When he lowered his head to her and she got a good look in his eyes she was intrigued. "My name is Halloween. It is a pleasure to meet you Dark Mousey." She replied as the light colored whiskers twitched slightly on her muzzle.

"So formal." He said a little shocked that a girl still had such manners. Most he had ever seen jumped him on sight, she seemed down right proper. Either way he wasn't complaining it just required a change in his methods. "That's very rare. I like it." His eyes twinkled like stars as he took a step to the side slowly flicking his tail so the it fluttered on it's way back down to Earth. Appearances were every bit as important as words when it came to dealing with mares.
"Beauty, why are you out here all alone?" He asked letting his eyebrows furrow as he feigned concern quite believably. "I can't think of a reason why someone so lovely wouldn't be with a...special friend."
