If nature could sing, Sukari decided, today would be one of the most beautiful melodies the world could hear. The weather was nice, the sun was shining, and the butterflies were all out to play! For Sukari, nothing seemed better than this. And so, the purple lion cub found himself out among the fields, leaping and swatting at the friends who had come to play.
Giggling, Sukari fell to the ground, cupping the butterfly gently in his paws. Opening them slightly, he peeked into the little hole.
"Why hello there, little guy! I caught you, didn't I?" He asked with pride, adjusting to a sitting position as he spoke. His response was a fluttering of wings.
"I did! And it was a good catch, too! I'll have to tell Ammy about you when I get home! Or, maybe, if you see her first," he said, thinking, "you can tell her that I caught you! Okay?"
And so, Sukari talked with his newfound friend, pleased with the events of the day. What could be better than a day that would make the world sing?

[[I'm sorry I don't have a current picture of her on this computer but I do have a cubbin picture.  her cubbing piccy.... xD but she's an adult now]] So today was a nice day, but what was she to do. Fully grown, not many friends... She barely saw her brother or father. Looking about she saw a lilac and white cub talking to something. She chuckled softly and grinned.
"Now what do we have here...." She asked as she approched the cub sitting down a bit away from him so as not to scare him.

Ears perking slightly, Sukari stared at disbelief at the butterfly, thinking for a minute that it had spoken to him! Scrunching his nose, he thought for a moment, then turned to see the lioness nearby. Smiling widely, Sukari released the butterfly, watching as it floated off into the distance. Facing her entirely, he nodded toward some of the butterflies around.
"I was just playing with some of my friends!" He chirped excitedly, tail immidiately starting to wag. Giggling slightly, he kneaded at the ground.
"Except, I just let Bubu go, 'cause I think he was too tired to play." Pausing, Sukari's eyes widened.
"And, and, now I have someone else to play with! Do you want to play with me?" He asked excitedly, hoping for a yes.

There was a soft chuckle from the lioness as she watched him. "Oh you're friends? I use to play with them too." She smiled softly at the cubbin.
"Bubu? I always wondered what that one's name was." She winked at him and she laid down.
"Of crouse I'll play with you little one. What do you want to play?" She wasn't sure what he knew to play and surely didn't want to be the one to choose the game.

"Oooh, you did, you did?" He asked with excitement, never having known that adults played with the butterflies, too. Sukai's eyes widened when she seemed to acknowledge Bubu's name, and he nodded.
"Yeah! He told me so. It's a weird name, though, and it makes me wonder why his mother named him that." Pausing, Sukari thought for a moment.
"Or, rather, why he chose the name himself. 'Cause I don't think Bubu's mama was around when he was born. Bubu was probably all he could say, so, that's what he called himself!" He decided, nodding sagely at his wonderful thought process.
When the other lioness asked about games, Sukari blinked in confusion. "Oh, well, uhm.." kneading his paws nervously, his gaze fell to the little purple toes.
"Usually, my sissus picked the games, but.. I play tag, and chase the butterflies.." looking up, he watched for her reaction.
"If you don't wanna play, though, we could talk. I kinda noticed that adults like to do that more than playing!"

"I sure did." She smiled her tail flickered watching the cub as he said the whole thing about the naming of the butterfly. "Maybe that's what happened, why don't you ask him next time you see him." She grinned.
Tail flickering as he looked slightly emmbarrased. She tilted her head. "Why would I rather talk than play?" A brow lofted she chuckled. "I never got to play much with my brother we were always off on our own ways." Her tail flickered.
Thinking about this for a second she smiled, "How about we play hide and seek? Then both of us can play. And I haven't played that in a long time."

"Okay!" Sukari chirped, making sure he would talk to Bubu the next time he saw the butterfly. He knew there was a story behind the name; it was too good of a name for there not to be! That, and there weren't many Bubu's running around.
At the mention of playing Hide and Seek, Sukari nodded with enthusiasm, beaming. An adult that wanted to play; how cool was THAT? Bounding up excitedly, he hopped in a little circle around her.
"That sounds great, actually! Really, REALLY fun! I can't wait to play.." pausing a moment, Sukari flopped over with a puzzled look on his face. Glancing up to the lioness, he scrunched his nose.
"I don't know your name. Or, anything about you."

She chuckled as she watched him.
"Hehe, I'm glad..." She paused snickering. "Oh how rude, You can call me Zuri." She said with a soft grin. "And what do you want to know about me little one?"

"Zuri's a pretty name." He said, wriggling up to a sitting position, and watching her carefully. Pausing a moment, Sukari thought on what exactly he wanted to know of the lioness. Inspiration struck fiercely, and he drew a deep breath.
"Do you know my Papa, Ash? Or my mama? Have you met my sisters? Do you have cubs of your own? Or family in the Pridelands?" Finishing, he sat and watched Zuri with curioisty, eyes sparkling. Oh, to be a young, curious cub.

"Thank you." She said with a bow of her head.
Lofting a brow at the questions she thought. "I don't beleive I know you're family, and I certainly haven't met any young cubs as of late save for you." Her tail flickered softly, "No I don't have cubs, and I haven't seen my brother or father in a long time."

"It's true, so, I guess.." beaming proudly, he giggled, "you're welcome!"
Smile fading slightly at the answers to her questions, Sukari's ears drooped. Poor, poor Zuri! How could anyone survive without their family? Hopping up, Sukari padded over to her, nuzzling the lioness gently.
"I'm sorry.. I know how good family is," he said, trying to be as comforting as possible for a small cub.
"And, in a way, all of the pride is your family, right? I mean, we all care about each other, and look out for each other! Right?"

Watching the cub and then when he came over she blinked as the cub nuzzled her. She blinked before chuckling. "It's okay dear by now I'm use to it."
She chuckled, "Indeed I suppose we are all family. I haven't met much of the pride though, I've met a few in my younger years and a few outsiders..." She paused before laughing.
"Enough depressing stuff lets play. Do you wanna hide first or shall I?"

Sukari nodded, trying to understand her words. A life without family was.. something you got used to? It made no sense! To him, anyway. Maybe it was just something that adults got used to, over time.
They were family, though. Everyone in the pride, Sukari considered to be a member of a great big family. So, it was good to play with your family, and make them happy! Because being happy is the best!
"Uhm.. you first!" He squeaked, knowing that the skill of hiding was one he didn't posses. Wigggling with excitement, Sukari beamed.
"So, let's play!"

Chuckling, "Okay I'll hide first." She grinned looking around, "You just be sure not to cheat." She said in a joking tone.
When the cub started counting Zuri pranced over making foot prints here and there tracking them back and then she jumped behind some rocks. Her tail flickered as he listened to him.

"Eighteen.. nineteen.. twenty!" Sukari cried, wheeling around from his counting and looking around. Footprints! Jumping on the trail, Sukari began tracking them this way, then that way, and all over.
Some minutes later, Sukari realized, the footprint idea was NOT working. Frowning to himself, he took a minute to recollect his thoughts. Sense of smell could work, then..
Whiffing away at the ground, Sukari began to follow the lioness' trail, tail straight in the air. As his nose lead him to the rocks, he beamed.
"Where could she be..?"
