Okay soo I hate taning beds I have been once and I hate them. There bad for you and if you have seen final destionation 3(I can't spell worth crap xd ) you know what happens to those girls and that freaks me out. I know it's a like a one in 50 million chance but ya. I live in colorado and we really havn't had anytime to sun tan naturally like I like to. I don't like to tan a lot but in of that I don't seem so gashtly white. I am naturlly reallly pale. So I wanted to try a self taning lotion just for my legs and arms a little. I was wondering what are the bad things about those? You know side effects and what not. And if they are not to bad what are some good brands? I don't want to seem orange though >< One girl at my dance studio did that, the poor thing was bright orange for 2weeks.... (Care if you read this and are wondering, it was Grace) I would like one that is healthy and NOT EXPENSIVE !!!! Money is a big issuy right now so ya sweatdrop THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!! heart blaugh heart

As far as I know, I don't think there are bad side effects to sun tan lotions.
To not look orange, it's probably best to find ones that gradually darken your skin over time to suit your skin tone.
I'm not sure if the products we get here are the same as what you get there. But I like Dove tanning moisturising creams best.

My only suggestion would be to leave your skin the way it is. Honestly, tans kindof freak me out. Everytime I see someone with a tan, I imagine them having been naked in a tanning bed. That makes me shiver! sweatdrop But anyways I'm almost white, literally, and I think it's pretty. More colors suit light skin than dark. blaugh

I just started using cream that gradually darkens your skin. It worked well, and I looked tan for a little bit. I live in Canada, so it was about $11.99 over here, the stuff I used is called Sublime and it's made by L'Oreal. It makes your skin really soft too because it has vitamin E in it, and it leaves little sparklies on your skin, so you look like your glowing a little. I haven't used the new tube of it I just bought, so I'm pretty pale right now. Gotta love fair skin. I also disagree with tanning beds.

Wear latex gloves or something to cover your hands. My friend did the fake tan thing and accidentally dyed her palms. It was all orange, so she looked like a carrot farmer, lol.

Three words: Gradual. Tanning. Lotion.
Jergen's makes a great one. You want something that will slowly give you color after a week or two, not something that will give you instant color. It's also really important to remember that you can still get a sunburn if you have a fake tan.
