My school is adding another AP class. AP Music Theory!! blaugh blaugh It is supposedly(sp?) the same class college freshman take. I can't wait to apply!
Do you think it is a good idea o add an AP music class?? I'de say I wanted unbiased oppinions, but a majority of us here are musicians so thats impossible...

I have an AP Music Theory at my school. I skipped in that class a few times and it was okay I guess... never really appealed to me. x_x
But it's a great class if you really love music or if you're considering majoring in music.

Yes. Especially if you intend to take the AP Music Theory exam. I thought about taking the exam, but my school doesn't offer the course, and there's no way I'd be properly prepared for it without it.
Besides, AP courses just look good to colleges in general.

I am currently taking AP Music Theory at my high school. It's hard, but it is the same as taking a freshman collge Music Theory class. I find it interesting, and most colleges will give you credit for taking the class as long as you pass the exam (get a 3, 4, or 5 on the AP exam, that is).
