I came on this for religious tolerance, and I know that I laugh a little too much, but I don't disrespect. I'm no Christian, but all I see on this Guild are ways to disprove God and make Christians look stupid. My parents are Christian. I have Christian friends, My girlfriend will probably be a Christian soon, so let's respect them in a place respect is expected.

We are not saying that christians are stupid, in fact I think most people on here are probably christian. Its just that we talk about christians more because it is the most wide spread religion in our society. And naturally there will be people who put down the beliefs, be we arent not tollerating it

All of the threads I have that made are in no way disrespectful towards christianity, nor were they made for that purpose. All of my threads, pertaining to christianity are to show why I am not christian, and to show why, I must point out my evidence. As such, I find christianity to be an extremely illogical religion; yes, logic does have it's place in religion. You cannot say that there is an omniscient God who is the creator, and yet have his creation have freewill. It does not logically work.

Furthermore, I will am not the kind of person who, when he sees something that doesn't add up, let it be. I will make it known anyway I can, that that thing doesn't add up.

logically there is no other way for the world to have been created.

well goly joe i am sure glad that that super nova blew up so long ago and made are solarsystem by random particles of dust being slowly pulled together by gravity over millions of years, and then by some random coincidence this rock ended up in the perfect position to support life and also hapened that on this rock that can support life non other than what somehow by luck appeared...LIFE! dang luck if i ever did evolve so myself. rofl

For some refence, I am a Cartesian Skeptic, I don't believe this world even exists, let alone this reality. I believe such because it is not absolutely certain.

But, when it all comes down to it, yes, there is more logic in the big bang theory than there is in an omnipotent being.

However, if you chose to believe in the omnipotent being, I will certainly not go so low as to throw it around and make it look like the bag of s**t I could easily make it look like.

Logically, it makes sense for one reason: the Universe is, or at least seems to be very close to being, infinite. Therefore, all possibilities exist within this infinite space, and Earth is the one possibility.

I am not Christian, but it has little to do with omniscient creator giving free will. It has to do with omniscient creator being all-loving and giving free will. Logically, if sin was such a bad thing and he loved us so much, we would have no free will. Or when it's said God cannot stand sin in his prescence. If God is all-powerful, he should be able to stand it. It's all illogical to me on those premises.

Now, as for Christian-bashing, it's a confusing subject. Saying you don't believe Christianity and why is no more being intolerant than what you just stated about the Big Bang. And both of us are entitled to our opinions. It is still tolerance when you get your opinion out there, as long as it's not done in a manner becoming harassment.

However, if you consider it to be anti-Christian to see why you don't believe in Christianity, then everything here may appear to be Christian-bashing. But then every Christian statement about the Big Bang or evolution would be intolerant as well. "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get." (Matthew 7:1-2 RSV)

If it helps on the big bang subject Earth isn't the only planet that can support life. There is a planet about 25 light years away with nearly the same characteristics, it can support life, it has water and is green, which is a sign of life. If that helps at all neutral

This guild was created exactly to debate about religion and religious philosophies. No one can have a good debate when the opposing side does not feel strongly about their standpoint.

Besides, I'm sure you've sen that when things get out of hand, they're immediatley dealt with.

I agree that there are a few posts that are disrespectful towards Christianity, but only a very few. Most people seem to be posting their beliefs and giving an explanation for them. The fact that some of these beliefs disagree with Christianity is coincidental. Other members then counter with explanations of their beliefs, generally on the points that disagreed with the initial post. The idea is so that both parties, and other readers can get a better understanding of the beliefs of others. At least, that's how I see it. I do aplogize if I have said anything in this guild that was found offensive, though.

I haven't seen too many intolerant posts about Christians. Threads that are intolerant are usually locked.

Now, there are quite a few people who disagree with Christianity, but most give an explination as to why they feel that way. We just don't have enough Christian followers in here to really balance out the non-Christians, so it makes it seemed biased. Most times though its just people bouncing ideas off each other in the threads.

As I've said before, we are trying to keep this a tolerant guild so if you have any problems with intolerance, just PM one of the mods.
