On Friday Night SmackDown, Rey Mysterio planned to appear in front of a sold-out crowd in his hometown of San Diego to update the WWE fans on his condition following a career-threatening injury. Mysterio’s special appearance was ruined however, when Mr. McMahon and his WrestleMania 23 representative Umaga crashed the party and took out their frustration on the injured Superstar.
As a result of Umaga’s heinous actions towards Mysterio on SmackDown, the masked Superstar re-injured his already damaged knee, and his rehab will now be prolonged. Rey was shooting for a mid-March return in time for WrestleMania, but as of press time, there is no longer a timetable for Rey’s return to a WWE ring. *WWE.com*
I really honestly think he'll have something to do with Mania regardless of the injury... I think that SD was a set up for Rey to get in the middle of the Vince/Trump match to cause Vince to go bald.
What does everyone else think? Is he hurt from Smackdown or is it just a set up?
That attack by Vince and Umaga was completely uncalled for in my opinion. Vince was probably trying to send a message to other RAW,Smackdown,ECW Superstars as well as Donald Trump. Come on, the guy had nothing to do with the Trump/McMahon fight, so why would Vince unleash Umaga on him when Mysterio isn't even in the Heavyweight division?
