A zoids game very possibly lacking standard zoids action, what on earth have we come to? Details are still scarce at this point (release date is Summer this year so not too far away?) but the two screens to the side of the poster aren't actually from the game persay, they're from a game called THE iDOLM@STER. The Idolmaster itself is a "management game" where you take a would-be star and steer her on her way to stardom through via minigames, standard dating game mechanics, auditions (which in the arcade scene take place online) and so forth. Raise your idol's stats (vocal, dance, visual), get along with your idol (you play as her manager or something) and so forth. By all apperances it would seem that this new zoids game (called Zoids Alternative for the time being) is similar to The Idolmaster though nothing is definite yet. Given the rather flashy outfits on Re Mii and Kotona as well as the screenshots from The Idolmaster being present on the poster, it would certainly seem that way. Wow. That didn't make much sense until I saw that Wikipedia article saying that in the iDOLM@STER anime the girls are mech pilots.
......Wait, it still doesn't make sense.

It makes sense when FANSERVICE is applied... unfortunately it doesn't make common sense. x_x;; I'm surprised Kotona and Re Mii are so popular that they're getting further recognition outside of the Genesis series. o_o It's like... a first for Zoids.
ALSO: Whoever drew Kotona and Re Mii here needs to be strangled for what they did to their legs. W.T.F. Their ARMS are thicker than their legs - NO. BACK IT UP. REDO PLZ. Their hands suck too.
Hn...

Something like:
Choose yours. Producer
Raise a Zoid Heroine into an idol!
Don't want to mess with the rest. x_x I think that says enough to confirm MystickSkye's theory.

Their hands suck too. No, they need to be strangled for those clothes. Look at Re Mii's skirt! It's up so high and so poorly drawn that it looks like you can see her.... *ahem* sweatdrop [Edit: Oh! I get it! Her leg is bent over the other leg so they put in a bunch of lines for whatever reason and made it looks stupid. When I first saw it I thought it was something COMPLETELY different]

Skala Wow. That didn't make much sense until I saw that Wikipedia article saying that in the iDOLM@STER anime the girls are mech pilots. ......Wait, it still doesn't make sense. Sadly, that's just the anime. In the game it's simply you take a would be idol and make her into a star. Frankly I think it's just cashing in on The Idolmaster's current popularity in Japan and expanding on having used the VAs of Genesis as more than just series dubbing what with the CDs having come out and all. Having seiyuus sing for CDs and all is nothing new to me though this certainly kicks it up a notch. At the very least I hope you can choose from more characters than just Re Mii and Kotona.

It fools the eye in bad ways. XD *is an artist* *nuts*

I'm taking a few classes for it, but I've been drawing well before I was in college.

Small tidbit to add, seems this game may be coming with a brand new Saber Tiger. Not quite a HMM kit though different too from a motorised kit.

And uh, even more info! Seems the XBox 360 will be getting another game (unless this one and that one are one and the same which I have to say doesn't seem likely). From the screens I've seen so far it has a darker and grittier appearance but most exciting of all is that it seems to be an action game with multiple zoids on screen at once! One screen has you as part of a Saber Tiger patrol with members of your patrol in front of you as you move through a canyon of sorts.
Whilst not detailed as many other such games (the map I've seen is a basic canyon with your group at one end and the enemy at the other, scintillating stuff) this is a nice step forwards and I pray for the day that a Zoids game reaches heights set by other mech games.
Oh and another note is that the Saber Tiger Limited I saw seems to be a limited for this game I'm talking about now (if it's a limited at all, debate rages on >_>) and not the game mentioned in the first post. Oddly both seem to be referred to as Zoids Alternative and there also seems to be talks of Zoids Alternative as a new type of branding altogether O_o

Anyway, that's from Zoids Alternative. Definitely not the same thing as the Idol Master game. eek I haven't heard of anything else called Zoids Alternative...that's weird.

No offense but it would seem you've yet to actually hear something before me xp I actually saw that exact screenshot a while ago though I was asked by the person who showed me not to go and spread it around though it was what led to me making the post that described the game. However the poster clearly says Zoids Alternative (unless you can think of another word that would be spelt in Kana "orutanatibu") which is why I was confused in my post just before yours and I quote: Quote: Oh and another note is that the Saber Tiger Limited I saw seems to be a limited for this game I'm talking about now (if it's a limited at all, debate rages on >_>) and not the game mentioned in the first post. Oddly both seem to be referred to as Zoids Alternative and there also seems to be talks of Zoids Alternative as a new type of branding altogether O_o The full story so far is that the Saber Tiger was remodelled under the heading of "Zoids Alternative" and it was accompanied by the talk of a "new style" if you will and whether it'd be okay to remodel old model kits in an up to date fashion or not (despite Kotobukiya very clearly doing this). I had my Japanese friend read it and neither of us could make much sense of it (my Japanese friend not knowing that much about zoids).
