Woo~ It's winter! That wonderful time of the year where everything's all snowy and wonderful and full of snuggling and bonfires!

Er.. Well, unless you're at Esoteric Slopes. That place is snowy all darn year.

Anyway, the place has this giNOOOOORMOUS lodge, with lots of rooms for those people who are taking a weekend ( or otherwise~ ) to themselves. The different suites include slopeside view, forestside view, front entrance view... and then there's the North View. It just looks north, and you can see basically snow, trees, slope, and sometimes people. In the suites, there are lovely big baths instead of showers, queen size beds, ( A bed made for two should be enough to fit your butt on it! ) TV, WiFi, expensive minibar, and all that other fun hotel room stuff like inside-the-TV video games. >3 All of the suites/rooms are upstairs on the second story.

Down in the lobby, you can sign in, get a hot spring pass, turn right to the arcades, or to the left to the resturaunt. And if you're one of those outside people, go around the kiosk and get your butt out those doors! Otherwise, you'd be going back up the stairs!

Outside, there's the ski lift leading up, up and away, the equipment rental shack, ( don't steal nothin', now, kids.. there's little teeny tiny GPS stuff in'nem... ), the snow tube bunny hill, and the walled hot springs...

Did I mention them hot springs are visible from the North View?

Also, there's different difficulties of hills, slopes, and drop offs.. be careful to check the difficulty level!

Without further ado, now,

~*Welcome to the Esoteric Slopes. Enjoy your stay!*~

"Oh, VJ, shut up, we'll have fun!" the slightly tanned red-blonde insisted. She pulled on her new friend's darker hand, and the other girl rolled her amber eyes.

"Asmaria, you're kidding me. My main element is fire. I hate the cold. I hate snow. Why are we here?" she sighed, just letting herself having been pulled along on this escapade despite.

"VJ, VJ.. Tsk, tsk, woman! Lighten up, already! Expand your horizons, woman. You let me drag you all the way here, right? Sooo... tell me what that means.." she cupped her hands to her ears, her blue and gray plaid skirt poofing out and would have most definately offered a panty shot.. if not for the pair of torn-in-the-knee blue jeans she had donned underneath them.

VJ just sighed, flicking dark curls of hair from her face as her hair were free. She massaged them lightly, cursing Asmaria Versaille's iron grip. "Because deep down..." she took a few steps towards the eager teen and then poked her in the nose with her index nail and kissed her on the forehead with a pompous air. "I have nothing better to do than sit and watch this snow."

Ash made a disgruntled face, her eden eyes copying the frown-like gesture somehow. "Sure, sure, you wicked demon.. make me feel so loved." she waved her hand nonchalantly and adjusted her backpack over her shoulder for a moment as she stepped inside the lodge from the snowing parking lot, showing off her campus ID card to the lady at the desk. "Um... I was told that this was supposed to cover my stay?.." The woman looked up and told her yes, and they made small talk while the two girls' stay was processed.

VJ, on the other hand, stood nervously in her pair of black denim jeans, clicking the balls of her feet nervously against the ground. She seemed to be un-at-ease from Asmaria's comment about the 'wicked little demon'. She doesn't know.. right? It's best no one finds me here, I need a break from the world. she sighed, and then came back to reality with a snap.

No. Literally. Ash was snapping in front of her face like a madwoman, sputtering all this nonsense about, 'hello? You in there? Anyone home? Earth to VJ, this is Houston..' blah, blah, blah. She swatted away the hand with an angry look. "What?" she hissed, glaring, and the other teen just shrugged, obviously unable to hear her. VJ sighed and shook her head, swiping the card from Asmaria's hand and reading the room number imprinted on the room key. Ash followed after her towards the stairs, jamming to some tune on her MP3 player.

Dinin practically flew through the door to the lodge. He hit the floor lightly on his back, popped up, spun in a complete curcuit, and landed lightly on his feet. "That was fun!" he cried as he ran over to the desk, his hyperness slowly depleting. He showed his ID to the lady behind the desk and sooned recieved a card with his room number on it.

Kaizen made a... less noticable entrance, simply walking in slowly with his and his brother's snowboards and gear slung over one shoulder and their bags over the other. He walked over to his brother and glanced at the card, then nodded. "Din, could you possibly make a more noticable entrance? Actually... don't answer that..." He mumbled something under his breath that even his brother, who was right next to him, couldn't hear before leading the way to their room.

Both VJ and Asmaria stopped on their way up the stairs upon hearing the bang from the door opening. Ash paused her iPod and grinned with interest while VJ looked upon the small nuiscance with disdain. She saw the second male come into the lobby and start up the stairs as well and continued forward, looking away from them both.

Ash, however, stopped right in front of the two, shoving out her hand for a high five. "Dude, that was an awesome entrance. Kudos, totally." she grinned, her white Nano still in her other hand. She flicked her hair from her eyes, exposing the earbud headphone wires crawling down her white shirt with random pink markings all over it and a faded image of the Lourve in the background. Some of the stitching was in Latin. "My name's Ash Versaille. You know, like that treaty signed at the end of WWI?" she said in the actual letters instead of spitting the words out.

After realizing that Asmaria wasn't behind her, VJ turned around with an impatient sigh, tapping her foot on the stairs. She made brief eye contact with Kaizen for a moment, switched her traveling bag between hands, and then focused on the back of the crazy teen's head, willing her to move. No such luck.

Dinin grinned widely, his smile seemingly having the potential to take in his ears if it got any wider, and returned the guesture, slapping his hand against the stranger's. "Thanks miss! I thought I preformed it pretty well myself!" Dinin thought back to his memory about the treaty of WWI, then snapped his fingers a few moments later. "I remember now! Yeah! My names Dinin!"

"Ugh, I was afraid something like this might happen..." Kaizen muttered in a clearly annoyed tone. Be backed away a few steps and looked over at the other woman who seemed to be with the woman who seemed equally as crazy as Dinin. He snorted and shook his head in a revulted way. He wasn't revulted, he just was a little uncomfortable talking to older women and didn't usually start any conversations with people, no matter their age, anyways.

"Dinin. That's just as uncommon as Versailles. Awesome to meet you." she looked to Kaizen and then figured he was probaby carrying Dinin's things, too. "So you like snowboarding? We should meet up later. I'll race you down the bunny hill!" she teased, not meaning any harm. "But for now, I think my friend's a little more than upset with me stalling again." Ash gave a hopless shrug, rolling her eyes. She put out her iPod hand and waved. "See ya soon~" The crazy teen practically sang, and then bounded up the rest of the stairs two at a time, meeting with VJ.

"Took you long enough." she sighed, but judging by the small amount of music she could hear that didn't match the lobby speakers, Asmaria had already turned her iPod back on. VJ turned to Kaizen for a moment, as if interested by his behavior and then swiftly turned and met Ash at the top of the steps and headed to their room. The darker girl slid the room key in the reader, and the door unlocked... leaving Asmaria to mow her down in the process of getting into the room.

"Omigod, omigod! Wow, bed! Aw, look over here! Video games! I am saved! And out the window!~" she paused to cross to the windows, drew in an unneeded gasp and then pointed, while VJ collected herself and then tossed her bag onto the bed she claimed as hers. "Look, look! VJ! Out the window! IT'S SNOW!"

VJ turned to her and gave possibly the most bored look ever conveyed by human beings. "Listen. There was snow outside. There was snow when we drove all the way up here. There's snow at Mirandal for christ's sake. What is so bloody different about snow up here.

Ash was silent for a moment, and then factually said, "Because I can use this snow!" before bounding off to her own bed. Thankfully, their room had two in them. Else there would have been a lot of complaining, a roll-away bed sent up, and then more arguing, excetra. VJ actually though she would have silence as she folded her clothes on her bed, but no such luck.

"Because, you know, because, like... I can actually use it to snowboard and the like. At Mi-U," ( that was her unnoffical shortened version of Mirandal. She gets a kick out of it because My-U is what it sounds like. ) "It's all flat, you know? Snow there, is way too... like, you know, just for show practically, and makes it harder to get around. Especially with all that stupid stuff hanging around. But now.. now it's like..." she paused, hearing the chest of drawers slam open, and looked to VJ with an inquisitive look. The other girl flicked her hand and like cards, the shirts and pants she'd brought along, now all folded nice and pretty, flew quite literally into the drawer, which slammed itself shut.

"Listen." she said, turning back. VJ was sitting on her bed, then, getting on a pair of snow pants. "I don't care about how you can 'use the snow'. I really don't. Now if you just might shut up about it and realize that the snow was outside when we came in, it still will be there when we get up here. So what's the deal with having snow on a mountain in the middle of winter is beyond me. However, now you've driven me to the point to get back out again in that infernal cold," she punctuated the word as she stood up and plucked Ash's snowboard from her backpack, "and are practically forcing me to use it." VJ's coat flew towards her, and she caught it in her hand. "See you in an hour."

She strode back to the door of the room, opened and slammed it behind her, feeling very irritable. She strode down the hall, back towards the stairs, and then down them, a determined aura surrounding her. Asmaria, however, just sat back in the room, calmly got her snow gear on, and counted to thirty-- the amount of time she was sure to have necessary in case VJ got stuck in the hallway. I don't see what her and snow have such a bad time with. Whatever. I could care less.. at least she's getting out. She's been cooped up all winter.. Ash sighed.

(( I tuned down the size because of the post length. sweatdrop I guess that's what Saturday mornings do to me! ))

(Tried to shorten it to make it fit! Dx)

Dinin quickly darted into his room and, not bothering to even put his clothes away, darted to his brother and put on his snow gear as fast as he could. "So, steep slopes?" He asked, finally finishing putting on the last tedious peice of equptment.

Once the bag was ripped from Kaizen's grasp, he threw the rest of the stuff onto the floor, placing the snowboards carefully leaning against the wall. He grabbed his equiptment and began oputting it on, nodding slightly at his brother's question. By the time he finished putting on his equiptment, Dinin was down in the lobby waiting for him.

VJ stopped for a moment, and then looked down to the lobby to see Dinin. She looked at him disdainfully for a moment, and then made her way towards him. "Hey. You. Dinin, was it? Come with me." she grabbed the smaller boy by the hand and led him toward the slopes.

Dinin stared at the woman curiously and followed cautiously. "Umm, okay... Where exactly are we going miss?" Dinin asked speeding up to keep up with the womans longer strides.

Kaizen looked around the lobby increduously. His brother was nowhere to be found. "I can't believe that overly energetic fool left without me!" He threw his snowboard down, one of his most prized posessions, near a bench, stormed over and plopped down of the bench mumbling curses and such under his breath.

"Up the ski lift." she sighed, and still led him outside. It was only early morning, so not a lot of people were around, so she jsut stood and stared at the near-empty ski lift going around. A skiier jumped onto it, and she blinked, staring at it. "Uh... so .. how do you get on that thing..." she pointed dumbly, just blinking.

Ash made downstairs and looked around. VJ wasn't there. That was good. She heard Kaizen speak up and turned towards him, recognizing him immediately. The only person she could think of that 'that overly entergetic fool' was was Dinin. "Uh.. scuse me.." she started walking slowly over, and then waved a little, iPod still in her hand, but not blaring for the lobby to hear. "Remember me? Stupid question; know where Dinin went? Oh, and I didn't catch your name earlier." she smiled politely.

"You mean to say you don't know how to get onto a ski lift?" Dinind nearly doubled over in laughter. He had never thought someone wouldn't know how to get onto a ski lift. "Simple, just jump on!" Dinin hopped up and strapped on his board in mid-air, then slid over to the ski lift. As one of the skii seats came around, Dinin moved in front and hopped up, landing, sitting, on the bench. "Now you!"

Kaizen immediately stood up, looked to the girl, remembering her as the one who seemed as equally hyper as his brother from earlier, and shook his head. "I don't know. He was supposed to be waiting in the lobby for me. I'm going to kill him when I find him... Anyways, I'm Kaizen. You're Ash, right?" Kaizen asked holding his hand out to her.

She frowned to him and scowling, watched at the simplicity as he just strapped on his board and hopped over across the lift. She just walked over and barely hopped on next to him in time, still holding the snowboard. Her hands were bare, as were her face. Luckily, she had proper boots on, though. "Yeah, yeah.. I'm here. So.. I just.." she leant forward carefully, trying to catch her feet in the holds meant for them on the board. "Something like that, right..?" VJ looked at him, irritated as usual, but with a curious look on her face.

"Kaizen.. yeah, I'm Ash. Or Asmaria, whichever you prefer." she shrugged and then shook his hand. "Well.. VJ ran off and stole my board in the process, so if she messes that up, she's going to get a good neck wringing." Ash nodded, pursing her lips together. "Maybe they went up the slope?.."

"That'd probably be the best bet. They have a supply shop somewhere here where you can rent a board supposedly. Dunno where it is though." Irritated, Kaizen began snapping his fingers absentmindedly. It was one of the main ways he calmed himself. "So, wanna get a board and go after them?"

Dinin grinned widely as the girl barely made it on. "Yeah, something like that. Just fit your boots into the into the holds and strap 'em on." Dinin paused for a moment. Then, suddenly, his grin grew wider. "You've never done this before have you?" Confident that he was right, Dinin chuckled to himself. "You have no idea what you're missing! Snowboarding is the best!!" Dinin yelped loudly in excitement and jerked in his seat, nearly causing himself to fall off the lift.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 11:35 am

Keila frowned as she looked down the slope, moving around on her snowboard. "What am I doing up here.. what the hell am I doing up here.." she mumbled and then sat down, looking back to the ski lift. With a sigh, she wondered how many people rode it down. "Maybe I should have come with someone.. maybe.. Aw, crap. STUPID VERTIGO!" she pounded a fist in the snow and then heard someone yell out, 'You have no idea what you're missing! Snowboarding is the best!!'

And she blinked, surprised. Was the mountain answering her? Wow. Guess I should start believing in the otherworldy experiences... right..? But, no.. the sound was male. Nature was referred to as a woman, right?

"Maybe I'm just going insane..." she reasoned, and then shook her head with an sigh, looking longingly at the ski lift.

"Well, that doesn't help." she kicked at the ground, pouting. "I love that board.. It's like.." she sighed and watched his fingers for a moment and absently answered him, turning on her iPod, but low. That was how she handled stress, or just made atmosphere. She could hear everything, but pouding bass erupted quietly into her ears as well. "Yeah. Let's find that shop." she started outside, holding open the door for Kaizen.

VJ looked at him as he paused, feeling an apprehension grow inside her. "...What?" and then he burst out his accuasation. Her eyes widened and she blushed a little, looking away as he rocked around in his seat, nearly causing her to fall off the lift, too! "Oi! Kid! Stop moving, already.." As they approached the top of the lift, she saw an unnatural color. Hair? She stiffened, thinking it might have been a wild animal, but relaxed when it was just another person. A feeling of dread welled inside her, though. "Dinin. How do I... get off?" she asked, almost nervous. That was nothing compared to the girl sitting in the snow, as she would realize when she looked down the slope as well.
