I had been feeling really sick to my stomach at random times through out the day, mostly when I first would wake up. I started sleeping ALOT, which is something odd for me, i'm a night person, I don't sleep at all! That went on for about a week and a half, and started getting a head cold, so I decided to go to the doctor wondering what was going on since I had been feeling so badly for so long. The doctor asked when my last period was, which I had started January 2nd and hadn't had again since then... Didn't worry me considering I have an irregular period and my boyfriend was told when he was 18 that he was sterile. Well I went to the doctor and they insisted on doing a blood test/pregnancy test... I wasn't worried about it, I was just like whatever, let them do what they need. The doctor came back in the room and her exact words were "Well... I have good news" So i'm thinking great, i'm not pregnant, we can be on our way "You're pregnant" My heart sank, my stomach was in my throat, and I couldn't help but to cry. I'm only 18 years old, i'll be 19 in March. I know girls have been much younger, but I only have a full time, minimum wage paying job. I havn't finished college, I in fact stopped attending after my first year because I wasn't able to work the hours I needed to pay my car insurance. My boyfriend is happy but really really scared, just as scared as I am. It's really hard for me to believe. I keep telling myself that the test was wrong, but it was a blood test, and I thought well maybe they just did something wrong, or got it mixed up, so I wasted the money on an at home test and took that as well and again it was positive. I'm excited to have a baby and everything, but my mother doesn't know and i'm SO scared to tell her because I know she's going to be upset. There's more to this entire deal. More going through my head and junk, but i'm not going to waste anymore time. I figure this is good enough...
But I guess the point of all this was, anyone have any advice... Like how to tell my mother and stuff like that?

Hey......yeah, I just went through the same thing......today, actually. Blood test from the doctor followed up with a confirmed pee test. I'm pregnant. My boyfriend's being very supportive of me.....but I'm only 17, I'll be 18 in September. I haven't told my Dad yet so I'm DEATHLY afraid. Just letting you know that there's someone else that's going through the same thing you are. smile If you want, we could PM each other and keep each other posted in how we're doing. ^_^ I think it'd be a good idea, just to keep in mind that there's another person going through the same thing you are.

I dont know if I should be happy for you or if I should keep you in my thoughts.
I hope that everything goes well. Know that what happened was a "blessing" if your b/f is steril.

congrats on the pregnancy! i would tell your mom asap, the sooner the better I always say. i have known some girls who "surprise" thier parents either late in the game or after they deliver, they show up at the parents house and say "here is your new grandchild!" yeh.... not good outcomes.
I would tell them right away and let them react however they want. it WILL be a shocker for them, but most parents eventually come around and if you continue to be responsible and show you can take on the task of a child, they might be supportive and help you when in need.
On a side note, I know not all parents are like mine, but my mom flipped out when she found out I was dating a guy 7 yrs older than me when I was only 17... I turned 18 soon after that but still, she was on edge.... well that xmas eve he proposed, she was happy but i could see she was on edge even MORE. Well we decided to get married in the next year of that, she wanted me to wait longer, but we decided in August of '05 we get married and we did, my family was supportive and we set it all up. Well just last year in July, we found out we were pregnant since I noticed I hadn't had a period and we did some tests to find out. Well I told my parents right away, I know they were excited but scared because I was only 19 and just married not even a year! Well here we are, 20 days til my due date and we're having a baby girl and I was so excited to get pregnant, at this point, I'm just excited to get her out!! I'm dying here! can't wait til we get paid this week, im going go buy some Evening Primrose Oil and some Raspberry Leaf tea to try and progress more. lol!!
So if you ever have any pregnancy questions, you can PM me anytime, I've been through the whole process at this point and everything is still fresh in mind! goodluck in breaking the news to the parents, and remember... every parent reacts differently, don't be scared if they get mad at you, it will hopefully soon pass if they do and hey, they will find out one way or another, so I would just tell them now!! just my opinion! enjoy those crackers and ginger ale, you're gonna need it for the morning sickness!!! cool

I'm telling my family as soon as I go to the Ob-Gyn and figure out about how far along I am and all that junk. Once I get the ball rolling and I get everything figured out is when i'm going to tell my parents because I want to show them that I can handle this and i'm mature enough to handle the responsibility, ya know? I will deffinatly be PMing you i'm sure. And congradulations on the girl!!! I want a baby girl but either way i'll be happy because it's just a mirical that i'm having a baby to begin with. My mother had a really hard time getting pregnant due to her irregular period. Oh and i'm already fond of the ginger ale and crackers. Haha. I've been feeling the sickness for about 2 weeks now, maybe going on 3. But it's getting alot less now than what it was for.

Congrats =D And good luck!
Telling your parents is always done right upfront and not waiting too long. You're planning on it at a good time, after your exam. ^_^ Hope it goes well!

Thank you very much!! I have an appointment with family planning this Wednesday and they're going to help me out and stuff. I called another place that gave me a reference but I didn't get an anwser when I called and they're supposed to be really helpful with finding local clinics and such since I don't know who's good and who's not. Not to mention I don't have insurance or anything, so yeeeaaaah. D:

I have a friend who just moved back to MN in November. Do you like it there? Good luck with everything!! I hope you get it all worked out :]

MN is really nice and it's not as bad as Milwaukee, that's for sure. I'd never heard of not Trick-Or-Treating at night because that's the best time to enjoy the decorations =D But, I love MN. It's not as cold as people think ^_^

I can't even handle northeastern ohio's weather let along mn. Haha. I'm not fond of the cold at all! D: I'm excited for you to be going back home. I know how exciting it was from me when I moved back to my area. I was living 3 hours away, now I only live like half an hour away. I like being close to my family and things i'm familiar with.

Yeah, that is a big reason why I'm moving home, I just miss my family. You lived alot closer than me, though lol I live 6 hours away xP I'm just too excited, I think. I keep calling my Mom and telling her that I miss her and can't wait to see her. I think they're coming in on Sunday, depending on the weather. MN's weather is funny. Sometimes we have nice Winters and others they're bad. But the summers are always hot burning_eyes

That's good you're looking forward to going home. I know alot of times kids aren't so happy to go back to there parents. I enjoy seeing my family and everything just not so much living in the same house. That's why I live only 30 minutes away. I miss my little brother the most though. He's a cutie. This winter here hasn't been to bad. Didn't really snow until January and we've gotten one good snow storm that's it. So i'm not really complaining. Haha. I hope the weather holds up so that you're family can make it Sunday :] I must be going, I have to shower and drag my tired not so well feeling butt into work razz Have a good day hun!
