(( Aziraphale and Aishwarya only ))

Aishwarya bent her neck, bringing her head closer to the little plant that had pushed its way up through the earth seeking the sun. The first blooms were tentatively showing, the first signs that the seasons were turning once more and spring was on its way.

She was pleased; the constant feel of wed mud under hoof wasnt pleasant, she was no shrinking, primping violet, but having to seek out a two-legged one every few days to comb and tease the mud from tail and mane was time consuming, and a little demeaning. She liked peace, warmth and the feeling of life. The winter was cold, hard and felt very dead.

She nosed the budding plant gently and then stepped carefully away from it, turning her gaze skywards as she wandered in a gentle curved path across the meadow near the Village and towards a stand of trees.

He had yet to grow completely accustomed to this new land. He hadn't had a good run. He hadn't loosened up. Not even his conversation with his companion, Crowley, had done much for his humors... Not that it ever truly did, of course.

He moved slowly through the forest, pausing by the lake to dip his muzzle down to take a slow sip. A soft breeze rustled through the nearby trees, teasing through his mane like a warm caress. He shivered slightly, tail flickering against his flanks. "What am I doing here?'

The answer to that should have been clear. He was doing the same thing here that he did elsewhere. Upholding good. Promoting everything bright and meaningful. Being an inspiration. Dancing through daisies and admiring flowers. At least it was a beautiful day.

A brush through bushes, pushing past branches and she was within the forest proper, having eventually crossed the meadow and put more of a purpose in her direction.

She could smell the water now; the lake and the different vegetation that grew along its banks. The reeds and other plants that liked the water smelled different from the trees, and from the grass below. She wasnt sure why, but it was handy if you lost your way amongst the trees. Nearing it she paused, sure she had heard something - a voice?

When the Lake came into view she found she had been right. Here was someone - a male someone, with an impeccably turned out white pelt, waves of light golden hair making mane and tail and wings? No, what seemed like a wing patterning on his flank. She moved a little closer and made a polite noise to announce herself.

The slow breath that he took in caused the 'wings' on his sides to ripple, confirming that they were indeed mere markings that would do no such thing as spread to lift him off of the ground. No, he was earthbound; meant to remain exactly where he was with good reason. The Plan had said so, of course.

The soft sound caused him to turn his head, a slightly flustered look overcoming his face as he tried to recall if he'd voiced anything improper for the ears of a lady before. No, he hadn't. He may have voiced a grumble inwardly but as long as it was not outwardly he was fine.

"Good day to you, madam." He placed one hoof before him, bowing his head down as low as he could in an attempt to appear proper. Appearances were but one of many things, of course and he was, if anything, proper right down to the very core... Nevermind anything that Crowley might have said.

'And to you sir,' Aishwarya greeted him in a similar fashion, dipping her head down and to one side in a graceful manner. She was pleased to see such apparent manners, but given his outward appearance she would have been shocked to find him anything less.
'I hope I am not interrupting a moment of solitude for you? I know those can be hard to find in these parts, so I have found at any rate.'
She gently flicked her tail, tidily tucking the decorated braid around her against her back hooves, watching him steadily.

"Interrupting a moment of solitude, madam? Certainly not." He managed a slight smlie as he lifted his head, meeting her gaze as eyes need not drift elsewhere. Everything that one could possibly need to know about another could be found out by looking in the eyes, afterall. "Odd that you say they are hard to find in these parts. I have found little more than my own thoughts at each turn, save for one other before this. I am Aziraphale... And who, might I be so very bold as to ask, are you?"

'I am glad,' Aishwarya returned the steady eye-to-eye gaze unabashed. She had nothing to hide, and felt no discomfort in doing so.
'You have? Then you must have a knack of finding solitude. I seen and been around nothing but Soquili's, young and old. Those and the two legged ones..sometimes it is hard to find a moment to ones self! But, as it is, I am happy to have company at this moment.' she assured him swiftly in case he think she was issuing a hint that she wanted to be alone.
'My name is Aishwarya.' she said.
'A similar mouthful of a name to yours.' she noted with an amused air.

"Aye, I have... Of course, I did not take into account my run in with those who walk on two legs. They are most peculiar." They also took his scarf, replacing it with the odd talisman now around his neck. He assumed it was some sort of symbol of good fortune... Or something to ward off evil. Of course, it hadn't worked against Crowley so perhaps he was wrong.

"It is a fine name, Madam." He smiled, giving one more polite bow of his head only to meet her eyes again. "Although our names might be long, it is credit to our persons that we can pronounce them properly, is it not?"

'Helpful though.' Aishwarya commented.
'Their ways are not ours, but I suppose we should not fault them for that. I've never met one or heard of any that mean us harm.'

'As is yours,' she accepted the compliment with grace.
'It would be a worry were we not!' she smiled at that thought.
'How silly you could appear if not able to introduce oneself properly.' her ears flickered in amusement at that thought.
'So I take it you are fairly new here, to these parts?'

"No one is to be faulted for their actions if they are well meaning as those who walk on two legs seem to be." Afterall, if this thing around is neck was meant to ward off evil then they had good intentions in taking his scarf, right? Of course.

"Quite silly, Madam Aishwarya. Quite silly indeed." He nickered softly, the sound coming out as close to a chuckle as he was able to manage. "Aye. I've only just arrived here the other day. It is much different than the mountains I am used to... But the scenery is beautiful and the company is refreshing." He nodded.

'Very true.' she nodded.
'From what I've heard of the different races of our kind, they have more to fear from some of us anyway.' a frown appeared for the first time before she shook her head, causing the waves of her mane to dance for a moment before falling still again.

Did he mean the present company? Well she wouldnt ask outright, she wasnt insecure enough to worry overly, nor was she the type to find more meaning in a stallion's words then what was actually there.
'You come from the mountains? What is it like up there?'
PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2007 8:41 am

"Yes, that's very true. They do. Even if some of those demons with the big fangs and the leather wings are more bark than bite. Most of them, from what I've been told by a... Well, I wouldn't call him friend, persay, but he is more than an aquaintance. What would you call that?" He tilted his head, looking to the sky for a moment as if expecting an answer to flutter down upon him just like that.

He then shook his head, brushing that train of thought aside. "A bit on the chilly side unless the sun is shining, which it always seems to be. Big, fluffy clouds and brilliant rays of light. It's as if the sky goes on forever." He wouldn't know whether or not it did firsthand, of course, being bound to the earth as he was with his lack of wings with which to fly. He wasn't all that concerned with that fact anyways. Flight, as far as he was concerned, was overrated. "There are many wings up there though. Lots of feathers everywhere."

'There is one specific human I know..she raised a Kalona. Unfortunately even being raised in such a good environment still didnt help this mare. She is...unhinged would be a polite comment that I could make of her.'
Aishwarya tilted her head;
'I wouldnt know of a more appropiate term then the one you used really. You say he isnt a friend though?'
She smiled at his description;
'It sounds lovely. One day I will visit I am sure. A place for wings? I guess because they are so close to the sky.' she smiled softly.

"Those creatures associate with those who walk on two legs?" His eyes went wide. Now that was something to make note of. He would have to pass that on to Crowley to see if he knew about that. Did that mean that the ones with many wings had descended from the mountain as well? "Oh dear..."

His nose wrinkled slightly before his bright smile and overall sunshine-like demeanor returned. "I have known this stallion for ages. It seems as if I've always known him. Granted, that may be because I have." He hadn't quite figured that out yet. "We are on two different sides of a..." He couldn't say battle. "... We are like the two different sides of a stone. I am the smooth and he is the rough, I suppose you could say."

Nevermind the Crowley seemed to consider himself smooth of tongue...

'I believe it was only a sufferance during the Kalona's time as a filly.' Aishwarya gave an elegant shrug.
'Otherwise she wouldnt. I've heard things...but it doesnt do to become that gossipy a mare!' she giggled.
'Your opposite? He sounds, dare I say, interesting? Not that you are not.' she said hastily.
'If you've known him for ages maybe he is a kind of friend? It's not something to be dismissed lightly after all. Do you think he would lend assistance if you truely needed it?'
She felt that was the mark of a friend. A willingness to be there when others wouldnt.
