Sighing a bit, the tan-colored unicorn mare walked along the bank of the river, watching her reflection in the water tread along with her. It was kind of nice, actually; all the benefits of companionship without the hassles of dealing with a living, breathing...argumentative, self-centered, intimidating insulting conniving bloody scoundrel of an individual with no right to so much as share the same air as the rest of society...

No. She was calm, she was happy, she'd be home before too much longer. She was NOT going to fret about those stallions, not anymore!

Starla was taking a walked like everyday. Walking was good for her health and so for her beauty. She wanted to go to the river. She knew there was some great place to stay under the sun and beautiful flower.

Like always she was only thinking about herself. What it will be if she started looking like Aeris, she never wanted it. Not speaking about the stallion, she didn't meet one good enough except Cuallyen.

During the course of her wanderings, Liz had met up with several strangers; and in almost every one of those meetings, she had been surprised. Obviously that was NOT a good state of affairs; consequently, even as she eyed her reflection she had one ear honed in on her surroundings.

That ear was alert and attuned to any sound; therefore when she heard the footsteps of another, she immeadiately turned away from the water and looked up warily. "Hello?" Her tone was guarded; suspicious. Her previous encounters had taught her to be on the defensive, and she planned on remembering that!

Starla looked at the other unicorn. She replied "Hello" nicely like she learnt it. She got a good education, it will never cross her mind to not reply to someone who spoke to her first.

Then she smile gently to the mare. "I'm Starla, nice to meet you". she said by bowing her head a little.

Well, that was a surprise. Blinking a bit in surprise, Elizabeth eyed...another mare. Not only another mare, but another unicorn, to boot! How extraordinary; she couldn't recall EVER seeing another unicorn in these parts!

However, staring was rude; especially since the other mare had already introduced herself! Never let it be said that Elizabeth Swann had bad manners...

Inclining her own head politely, Elizabeth returned the greeting. "A pleasure, Starla; my name is Elizabeth. What brings you out this way?"

First rule of polite conversation: Small talk!

Starla was greatly surprise, this mare has manner. She was happy she found someone well educated finally.

"Nice name Elizabeth, it's a princess name." she nodded. "I came here to lay under the trees, it's the best place i found to be surrounded by the fresh air of the water and under the sun."

She took a little pause, to not give to much information at once.

"And there is beautiful flower arround here too." she smiled. Then she asked back of course. "And you dear, what brings you here ?"

All valid points, she supposed; glancing about as the white mare spoke, Elizabeth took note of the things that Starla was mentioning; the flowers, the trees, the river; she supposed that it really was a nice peaceful place to relax. Looking back at the other mare she smiled slightly at the compliment, then paused thoughtfully.

"Well, I suppose that you could say that I'm just passing through, Starla. It's been quite a while since I was last at my teepee, and I'm actually on a journey back to it." Not the most helpful of answers, to be sure; but certainly a truthful one.

Starla smiled back. "Oh, it's great to be able to come out in this case." she made a little pause. "If i'm not indescreet..." she weigh her words "there was something which made you stay at your teepee ? I mean it's not good for the health to not be able to go outside a little".

Then she looked at the mare, hopping she didn't do a mistake by asking this. It may be rude in some way.

Huh...Elizabeth wasn't exactly sure what was being asked of her, but that didn't mean she couldn't hazard a guess. "You mean, was there something keeping me at the teepee? Honestly, no; I just happen to like it, I guess."

And she happened to dislike most of the other Soquili that she'd met, so she'd rather stay near her teepee and her two-legger and keep her sanity.

Starla nodded "Oh ok, well it's ok if you like it. It just i myself can't stay at home." She stopped. The courtesy teached her that she didn't need to bother someone with her storylife.

"Would you like we laid under the tree ? Like this we can discuss in a calm place. If you agree to continue our little chat of course, i don't want to bother you if you have something else to do".

Obviously this other mare was more social than she was...but then, to each their own, Liz supposed. Either way, Starla seemed to be a pleasant enough mare, so she was more than willing to stay and chat with her for a bit.

"Relaxing sounds like a marvelous plan, Starla. I don't really have any plans, other than making my way back home; but in the mean time a chat would be delightful." And indeed, she meant that.

The mare looked arround to found the perfect place, not to much shadow and not to much sun. She found a tree near the river which was great. Then she looked bact to Elizabeth.

"What do you think of the tree near to the river ?" she asked, showing the tree she spoke about with her nose. "I have a blanket to put on the grass too. Like this we don't need to dirt ourself with the grass if it's wet".

Glancing at the tree in question, Elizabeth found herself starting to smile even wider as she listened to the other mare speak. Amazing, another Soquili that actually cared about tidiness! And here she'd begun to think that she was the only one that cared about such things.

Inclining her head at the other mare, Elizabeth gave her a warm smile; one of the first to grace her lips in a VERY long time. "That sounds delightful on all accounts, Starla; would you like some help with the blanket?"

Starla smiled back. "you have a shiny smile dear, you must have success with these escuse me the words, stupids and arrogants, stallions ? And it will be with pleasure i accept your help."

She started to walk in the direction of the tree. "Normally the familiar of one of my friend will come with some food too."

The mare's words brought a flicker of a frown to Elizabeth's lips; of all the subjects that they could discuss, that was likely the most unpleasant one Starla could have picked. As it was, though, Elizabeth's response was very polite; polite to the point of iciness.

"If you don't mind, I'd rather not discuss that, Starla. Now then, where do you think we should put the blanket, specifically?"

The second part was delivered in a much more cheerful voice, and Liz was once again smiling as she surveyed the grassy plot they were heading towards. As long as the conversation avoided stallions, she'd be fine.
