Okay look, Bungie is an incredible company with great ideas always coming out and trying new typs of gameplay. Dont belive me? You wanna know who , made Myst? Yeah, Bungie. You know who made Oni? Yep, Bungie.

The only thing now, is that they really hit it big with this game. And you know what, after years of hardwork, and not even getting recognized for the awesome games they have made, they deserve it. Let them have their damn time. Let then have it. Halo IS good. Its a great game to play with a whole bunch of people, thats how the game works. And honsetly, the only people Ive met who dont like Halo, are people who havent played it.

Or hate it because it's popular. (Fanboys = Teh ruiner of lots of things!)
Disliking generally is something else though.

I've been with Bungie since Oni and it's good to know they havn't gone to far... Since their current project isn't Halo 3. (Supposively.)

They know how to make games and not take things too far.
Kudos to em'.

(They better make an Oni 2. scream )

Played it.

Didn't like it.

Please don't lump us all together. Some people really do have opinions on things. We're not all sheep.

I just played Halo.

I was very unimpressed. I was hoping for something completely epic and new. Instead, I was plopped down with few guns and I shot my way through countless squads of aliens. I was very umimpressed by it since I could do the same with another shooter. Shoot through squads of aliens.

Oni mildly interested me, and I've never played Myst. A lot of hard work goes along with -every- game; I don't think it's any reason to get all cocky about it. Just because a lot of work went into a game does not mean that I have to like it, or even think that it's good.

If it's such a great, ground-breaking FPS game, shouldn't there be something in it to interest even people who don't normally like that type of game? When games are this raved about, I would think there would be at least something everyone can enjoy. But no... all I did was run/drive around and shoot at things. It's really not that amazing. Shooting things gets old, REALLY fast.

*Gotta love HL2s AI though. Even though they're set on killing you, the Combine actually use plans such as break down doors, shoot through windows n' so on.*

SSM, Trajedy, I don't think he was trying to lump you guys into that 'group', at least that's not the way I see it. I find it more likely that he was getting really tired of seeing as much Halo-bashing running around in this guild as there is Bush-bashing. I'm tired of it too. When I first saw this topic, I thought maybe I should say something, but I figured there really wouldn't be any point to it. Now I think maybe it's time I did, something a lot of people need to hear.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. We can respect that. But the point of being in this guild isn't to lash out at something you don't like every chance you get. That's why people hate politics, and I sure as hell don't want it to be the reason we come to hate gaming. Accept that people enjoy the game, accept that they have their reasons for it, and move on. There should always be a very dark, very bold line between hatred of a game and hatred of a fanatical following. Let me give you an example.

If a fanatical Muslim blows up a building, should we target every single follower of the religion of Islam? No. We should target the fanatics, because they are taking their religion far beyond what it is supposed to mean and need to be stopped. Regardless of how you mock it up, hating a game because of its fanatical followers has the same concept behind it as hating any Muslim because of the fanatical Muslims, hating any German because of the Nazis, or even hating any 10-year old because your 10-year old sibling is beyond frustrating. You're hating a concept or group because of the actions of a few people who are part of it. We know it's not right to do the last three, so let's acknowledge that it's not right to do the first one, okay?

Don't be a hypocrite, Accept that people -don't- like the game, and that we have our reasons for it.

It's always 'Oh, you just don't like it because you haven't played it'. Well, I -have- played, and I gave my reasons why I don't think it's that great. Why should people who don't like the game just have to shut up and let everyone rave about it. Aren't we entitled to express our opinion, too? I'm merely trying to explain why I don't think the game deserves all the hype it has, and that Bungie has no reason to get all cocky about their game. I never said[/b[ I hate the game because of it's following. Granted, that is a reason, but I had my opinion on this game over a year and a half ago, before I even came to Gaia and realized how stupid SOME people could be about the game.

It's an opinion. And I'm allowed to share it just as much as anyone else is allowed to share thiers. If -you- don't like it, then I suggest that -you- move on.

Traj, please calm down sweatdrop I wasn't trying to single out you or SSM as people who do this kind of thing. I respect both of you and have always believed you to be above this. I accept and respect both your opinions...the only relevance either of you had to my post was that I didn't think Baker was trying to say you two did this ^_^

Alright. I've already made a personal apology to Trajedy via PM, because I did not mean to cause anybody to be offended here. I suppose I didn't get my message out clear enough, so I will try to make it clearer here as I tried to in my PM to her. In summary, what I am trying to say is this: it becomes just as irritating to see people bashing Halo in great numbers as it is to see them ridiculously giving it praise in great numbers, especially when it comes from this, something so trivial. Frankly, I think they have at least a little justification for having a 'big head', as has been said. They've created a game which has become enormously popular, whether we think it deserves it or not. That's going to inflate the ego some.

I respect everyone's right and opinion to say that Halo sucks all they want, I do. But what about my right to say I'm tired of seeing it in such hateful ways, and occasionally even in threads which don't really have anything to do with Halo? Should your right take precedent over mine, and if so, why? If you're not going to like the game, alright, I can deal. But, and I'm not singling out anyone here, can we do it without so much hate? That's all I'm asking.

People, it's nothing but 0's and 1's on a disc. gonk
Some people like it, some people don't.
There is no need for hating it since the game itself does nothing to actually harm you... Unless something annoys you (Like the fanboys or a character.). But it's perfect to dislike it... Hell, where would the world be without anyone disliking?

"I like this!"
"Wow, so do I!"
"It's so great, isn't it?"
"Yes, though there is no point in living since everything is okey-dokey."
[Insert nuclear blast.]

The world would be boring if someone didn't cause some intelligent discussion where people could think and improve.

Hell, if it wern't for people disliking. Halo/ Halo 2 would be a shambles due to beta testers because everyone would be like...

"Wow, I like the way there is an invisable wall stopping you from getting to the end of the level!"
"And Wow, I like how MC get's spawnkilling by nothing at the begining, everytime."

Yes, I'm on abit of a rant.

But people, it's a game, yes, some people praise. And some people don't.
Whatever floats your boat, and doesn't sink anyone elses. 3nodding
