I looked into the "pregnancy myths" thread, and i didn't see this anywhere. If two people have unprotected) sex, and about a week later she goes on her period, does she still have a chance of getting pregnant if no more sex occurrs? I was just wondering because this perplexed me for a long time. sorry if it was explained, but i didn't see it anywhere.

This probably could've been posted in the pregnancy myths sticky, but no worries I guess. Just please try to be more careful next time. smile I'm trying to keep the main page from being cluttered with unecessary threads.
I would say yes, because depending on the woman's cycle, doesn't a woman ovulate roughly about 2 weeks before she has her period? I can't remember what it says in the sticky. But sperm can stay in the body for up to 4 days. So if the sperm is in her body, and it's swimming up towards the Fallopian tube by instinct, and it encounters the egg on its way to the uterus at some point... Chances are the sperm would die before long I think, but it's still risky.
Wait and see what someone else posts, I'm not to sure about this one. But once it's answered, I'll add it to the pregnancy myths sticky and give you credit for it. 3nodding

It is possible for her to still be/get pregnant. Some females ovulate two eggs at once. It's sort of the same concept of being able to get pregnant while on your period.

Um, they're probably right. At first, when I got pregnant(wasn't intentional, my dumb ex-bf forced me), I thought I was on my period, but I wasnt. So based on my research on this, Yes, it is possible. And i thought sperm only lived for 24 hrs.?

I had been told up to 3 days, but Nopenname from the GPG corrected me and said it was up to 4 days. So sperm can live inside the body for up to 4 days.

So would chances of her getting pregnant be low or high? because i'm not sure i get it.... *kinda embarrassed that he doesn't quite understand* and i guess this would follow under the rhythm method, right?

I don't quite understand the female menstruation cycle either, and I'm female. sweatdrop
If you have sex around your time of ovulation (I think it's roughly 2 weeks into a cycle? Though it varies for each woman), or right before your period (within 4 or 5 days), then I'd think the chances would be higher for getting pregnant. If you have sex right after your period, the egg has left the body, and the body isn't going to ovulate another one for a few more days, then theoretically it should be ok?
If you have unprotected sex, no matter what, she has a chance of getting pregnant. A relatively high one too, depending on what time of the month she's having sex. And there's still pre-c** to worry about, so even if the guy doesn't ejaculate, there's still pre-c**. The girl can have a bath, but the sperm is deep inside her body. Yes it would clean out anything on the outside of her body, outside of the v****a, and maybe a little near the entrance, but I'd imagine there might be more sperm deeper inside where the water can't reach...

Ovulation usually occurs on cycle day 14 (Cycle day 1 would be the first day of mestruation.) based on a 28-day cycle. I've also read that it occurs 14 days before a woman's next menstrual cycle. Six days before her peiod would start would be cycle day 22. There's probably a low chance of pregnancy, but it -is- still possible.
