Zuri'ramla, the beautiful, fake seer of the norther lands, had been resting near a pool of water only a time before, trying to really work out what she wanted to do with her life now. No family, very few friends, and she wasn't keen on making many new ones. So just what was she to do with herself?
So instead of letting her concerns eat at her, she kicked herself up for a walk around, letting her energy be released physically instead of mentally. After a long walk, she had felt better, if only a bit, about her problems. She still wasn't certain what to do with herself, but she worked it out to not....worry so damn much.
So she had begun to return to the cool pool of water that she had grown fond of in these past days, hoping for a good drink, and perhaps a rest. Maybe even a bath too, she still wanted to keep her lovely appearances up. Besides, you never knew who you just might run into around the tree...

The desert was a harsh place, an unforgiving terrain that ground it's sand into his hide, the bright sun cruel on his green eye. The great lion was no stranger to this, but he had grown tired of the dry desert heat and now longed for the cool shade and soothing darkness. For this reason he had altered his course, drifting east from the land of the firekin, finding his way to dark jungle.
But the jungle was not without it's irritations, assaulting his ears with it's chattering noises, weighing him down with humidity. At least it was dark and shaded, a needed refuge from the desert sands.
Twigs snapped under his large paws as he picked his way through the dense trees, branches snapping in the wake of the massive lion. As he walked, he lifted his nose, sniffing at the air. Perhaps there was water nearby, or something else of interest.

The orange lioness drifted towards the crystal-clear pool of water, her attention more towards resting near it's quiet edge then the surrounding area. She had been here for a few nights, and felt comfortable here, regardless of what might be lurking. She hadn't run into any problems yet, why should she worry about things unseen? Perhaps that walk had been a little too relaxing.
Settling next to the pool, she let her golden eyes gaze on the water's surface, letting herself 'empty' her emotions and pick at them one by one as she reorganized everything. She wasn't as absorbed in it as she should of been, so she soon grew bored and let her tail flop in the water, watching the ripples across the surface.
Her ears swiveled around her head as she picked up sudden chatter coming from the trees above her. She couldn't quite tell just what it was about, but something was around here. Something that stressed out the birds and monkeys and other residents. She picked her head up to take a look, but didn't bother to get up. She would if the danger bothered to come her way.

Ears flattened against his skull, the lion let out a low growl. The noise was infuriating and he suddenly remembered why he rarely ventured into the jungle. Infernal creatures, screaming about a lion that wasn't even here to hunt them.
He paused, senses alert, searching for the water and the scent that found his nose. The water was nearby, he could smell it, could feel the subtle shift in humidity. Following his senses, Tanaka pushed through what was left of the trees, slashing through a branch that was too big for him to pass.
It wasn't far, the clear surface of the water meeting his gaze, the welcoming scent filling his nose, and for a moment his irritation was forgotten. Once past the trees, the lion padded through the clearing to the water's edge, paws dipping in the cool liquid as he lowered his head to drink.
But it seemed it was not meant to be alone here, eyes narrowing at the orange reflection on the water, ears flicking to catch any sign of movement. He should have expected it really, many animals were drawn to water such as this, so for now he stayed as he was, simply watching.

Zuri's ears found the large form of a lion before her eyes did. As her head turned to view what her ears had found, she was quite taken aback. The lion that was in front of her was massive. Her heart jumped, but her form stayed still. She let herself just stare at him for a moment, trying to fathom just as to why a lion would ever be so large.
Her blue tail tuft swayed in the water, though the lioness was unaware of what her tail was doing. She inadvertently drew it up out and away from the water, letting the soaked fur bleed the water off, the ground greedily soaking it up. Her deep golden eyes strayed from jus this form to his incomplete mane, to the blood-red feather tied in, to the strong muscles underneath his white pelt. Well well, Zuri had something interesting fall into her lap, nearly literally.
She didn't say anything, not yet. She wanted to see if he would outwardly be kind, mean, or anything inbetween. She would then figure out just how to approach such a massive male. No use in giving yourself a death wish when you only began to rewrite your life.

Muzzle buried in the water, Tanaka drank until his thirst was quenched, finally raising his head from the crystalline surface, water flowing around his fangs to fall from his parted maw. He had felt her gaze, knew that the lioness was watching him, and he didn't like it.
Already on edge, the lion's tail flicked once to show his displeasure, his posture tense, though without threat. Aggressive by nature, perhaps the lion was simply too tired to bother further than that. However he did keep a wary eye, one ear turned toward the lioness, listening for any signs of her intentions.
Ever aware of his surroundings, the lion stepped into the water, letting the cool liquid flow through his white fur, carrying the sand and grit from his hide, to soothe tired muscles and cleanse his tattered paws. With a sigh, he allowed his body to relax; he could tolerate the chattering of the forest for this.

Zuri's muscles grew tense themselves as she sensed that the other was not pleased with her staring. She pulled her gaze away from him, letting it drift back onto the surface of the water, now anything but smooth from the other's drinking. She kept herself quiet, deeming that while this lion wasn't horribly aggressive, he certainly was not liking the staring. She gave a brief mental nod, as most creatures did not liked to be stared at.
So instead she was going to sit herself up before speaking, until he slipped his massive body into the water. It was far from what Zuri was expecting him to do, and thus she pulled back, if only slightly. Her gaze flickered back at him, doing her best to keep her tongue silent. She wanted to poke at him, say that others may have been drinking from the clear waters, but she guessed that he would be non too pleased with something like that. So, try a little more smoother, honey-like approach.
"Soaking in the water is always a pleasant past time, no?" She casually asked him, her gaze wandering off towards the foliage that surrounded the pool of water, acting a bit indifferent, though she would know that the other would probably not assume she was indifferent, with her staring that had only just occured.

The lion snorted at a nose full of water, lifting his head to gaze at the orange pelt of the lioness across the water. He had come here to rest from the heat, not start a conversation or to socialize, especially not with a stranger. Silly little mortal, why did he have to be so interesting to her?
"If that's what you're into."
His voice was gruff, harsh from the desert sands and the thirst he'd come to quench. He wasn't especially friendly, nor inviting, but he didn't growl at her either, at least she hadn't given him reason to yet. For now, he was tolerant.
But something else caught his attention, something that wriggled past one stationary paw as he reclined in the water. Gaze shifting, he peered below the water's surface, a grin parting his maw at what he saw, fish. He hadn't eaten in some time, and the silvery creatures looked quite appetizing.

Zuri did her best to not laugh at the male, but she couldn't help but crack a smile. She settled back down on the ground, hey body relaxing a bit as she flicked her tail behind her back, the tail slowly starting to dry out, finally. SHe flxed her white paws calmly, as if stretching to get more comfortable. She had let a light silence pass between then before picking up where he left off. She spoke softly, as it seemed most of the voices of the jungle had either wantered off, or just kept quiet now.
"Well, you must be into it enough to do it," she said, stating a small observation. He acted like he didn't like it, but it seemed obvious to the orange lioness that he did enjoy it, to see him a bit relaxed. Her ears perked up at the white lion when he seemingly jerked his head to look down into the water. Well, was he just seeing his reflection now, since the water had calmed a bit? She doubted it, but it was the first thing that floated through her mind. She let herself seem mildly interested, but didn't bother to make a big deal out of it. She knew about fish from Kere, but still had no interest in the 'white flesh' that fish had.

"It is a welcome respite from the desert sands, nothing more."
Like most lions, Tanaka certainly didn't go looking for water unless it was necessary, nor was he inclined to play in it but on rare occasions. Still, he'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it at this moment, his body soothed by the cool, his hide pleasantly relieved of its sandy burden.
And then there were the fish, the current object of his attention, a savory snack that was rarely enjoyed amidst the meals of hoofed prey. Silently, his body held still, the white lion gazed through the water, green eye focused on one large fish. He watched, waited, following the creature's every moment as it remained blissfully unaware of the predator. Then, without warning, his head surged forward, plunging into the water with parted jaws, jaws that snapped fiercely around the hapless beast.
A smirk on his maw, the lion's head rose above the surface once more, water streaming through his mane, large fish wriggling in his jaws. Prey grasped firmly, Tanaka waded ashore, settling on the earth to devour his prize.

Zuri was slowly enjoying the silence between them, but it was soon shattered with the sudden, swift movement of the lion into the water. She gave out a gasp, startled by his movement. She scurried up into a sitting position before his large head pupped up out of the water, the lioness quickly trying to compose herself again. While she didn't think that he was going to do anything to her, she was still in every right to be scared of the sudden movement of such a massive male.
She saw that he liked fish too. She hid her distaste for fish, not interested in all at what he was eating. She hadn't a clue what to say, so instead kept to herself, watching the male again. Picking up the staring, and perhaps aweing, of the male.

While not a favorite or the most satisfying meal (it was much more enjoyable when the prey screamed before perishing), the white lion did enjoy the occasional fish, especially when it swam so invitingly into his jaws. It was more of a snack than a meal, hardly filling him as much as a zebra or wildebeest would, but it was packed with oils that would boost his energy far more effectively.
Grasping the wriggling creature in massive paws, held fast by dark talons, the lion's maw parted, fangs sinking through silvery scales, feasting on his prey, savoring the taste of light flesh tinged with metal. As he ate, Tanaka felt eyes on him once again, his own gaze narrowing though he made no movements against her, instead occupying himself with his meal.
It was a brief meal, the fish devoured without a trace left behind to show it had existed at all save what was left on the lion's paws, and that too was gone quickly as he licked them clean. Satisfied for now, the lion stretched, talons extending as forelegs stretched to their full extend, maw parting in a broad yawn.
Resting his head on one massive paw, Tanaka looked toward the lioness with one green eye, dark ears flicking, tail swatting at some insect that buzzed nearby. When he spoke his voice gruff, perhaps intimidating, though not malicious.
"Why do you keep doing that?"

Zuri mildly watched the white male eat his catch, the scent of fish slowly poisioning the air. She didn't much like the smell, but hoped that the scent of the jungle would soon overpower the very distinct smell. She curled her tail up along her white forepaws, letting the blue tip flip this way and that, as it pleased.
Her blue-tipped ears perked up as the male spoke to her, questioning her interest. She would be frank with him. Why not? It wouldn't do any harm to not lie in this situation.
"Why?" she repeated, her golden eyes blinking slowly before she moved her gaze to his face. "Can't one admire something that is easy on the eyes?" Her smile grew across her face again, though it was smaller, and more polite then it was the last time it appeared.

He snorted harshly at her comment, tail flicking against the earth like a serpent. It was fortunate he had finished his meal or he would have choked on it. Easy on the eyes? Never before had Conflict been described as such, and it was certain she would have thought differently had she known who he was.
"You have got to be kidding."
Mortals, just foolish creatures. He'd give her some conflict and then see just how attractive she thought he was. Well, that wasn't such a bad idea now that he thought of it. No, not a bad idea at all, and it was high time he got back to spreading the torment he so enjoyed.
But this one called for something special, no violence needed, just a simple seed, one that would grow into a source of mental anguish, not only for the lioness but for the others that would cross her path. Yes, the more he thought of it, the more glorious the idea seemed, and a faint smirk parted his maw in malicious satisfaction.
"Well...I suppose your pelt is easy enough on the eyes as well."

She raised her head back up to it's normal, even stance, her golden eyes studying him again. Well, what she said was true, and she wouldn't go back on what she said, no matter what the male had said to her. He did give her a little back.
Zuri's head picked up some, her chin slowly closing in on her chest in a very playful manner. Well, it was nice to get something back from her light advancement. Maybe all she needed was something small, something that would just last the night. Besides, who didn't like to indulge in those things that parents said were better left alone? She could take care of herself, anyway.
