Season: Spring
Setting: Morning over by the lake
King had just finished washing up in the lake, the day was warm and most of the snow was gone. He looked around his surroundings wondering what the day had in store for him. His ponderings brought him to think of his mate, and he wondered how she was faring.
He had not seen her around lately and worried for her safety. He felt as though he was being useless or worse. What if she didn’t love him any more? What if she had grown tired of always waiting on him. Many thoughts crossed his mind, he didn't know what was going on.
" Oh Tetyawna, my love... I'm sorry..."
He said to himself softly under his breath. His head hung low as he looked at his reflection in the water. What stared back was a sterner face, much more fierce then his old one. King had also gotten bigger because of his new status as an elder. He was more muscular, brooder, taller. It was all new to him but he could not enjoy being an elder when one of the things he wanted to protect more than anything, was missing.

A gentle voice came from nearby. "Sorry for what?" she asked curiously. She was taking one morning walk through the wood, how nice the air was, and even nicer when the scent of her mate caught her nose. The orange mare stepped up beside him, the height was a big difference, she was so short and he was definetly tall. Maybe the coming babies will be tall too, or as Tetyawna is hopign for.
Speaking of children, she could feel them moving a bit in her belly. They squirmed, or at least felt like it. Her eyes sparkled as she looked into King's. Remembering how they first fell in love. Love at first sight, it really does exist. A bit of pain occured when a foal's leg suddenly kicked at her side. Her face showed pain, slowly lying down, she breathed nice and slowly. "Maybe one day males will get to carry the babies instead of the female," she laughed as she joked. Not sure if it seemed like a joek though, she just wanted to laugh rather than have King worry about her stat. She was fine though. It was daily when the foals would kick out to stretch or something.

Looking back surprised and thrilled to see his mate King nickered softly to her. as soon as she came beside him his head leaned down to her and nuzzled her muzzle gently with his own. She seemed so small, like a delicate orange flower that only he could touch.
" I was mainly talking to my self, but i worried about you is all. We haven't been together in a while...
Before King could continue he noticed as he was looking her over that her belly seemed a bit.. large. And it was only till she spoke of babies did his eyes lit up with a loving look and a brightly shining flint.
" Babies?? Is it possible your with foal Tetyawna? Am I going to be a father again?"
A look of happy confusion came to him but if she was pregnant that would explain the sudden bulging of her stomach. He knew this time the birthing process would be so much easier for her as she has had foals before. He wondered if Isi or Chamain was going to stick them in those baskets again.

Giggling, she nodded. "Indeed I'm pregnant again," getting up, "I feel like I'm carrying so many of them inside my belly this time." She smiled as she looked down. "Remember when we had the other two. Oh weren't they gorgeous when they popped out. I'm sure they'll be surprised when they find out they're getting siblings." she sighed happily.
The thought of babies got her a little nervous, sicne it hurts to have them sit there in your stomache for a while. Then again all the pain is worth it. Tetyawna wondered how their babies will look like this time. "Honey, what names shall we give them?" she remmebered it suddenly when she thought back about Micah and Awnaety. They still had to decide on names for their foals.
Another kick at the side, this time Tetyawna just tried to ignore the pain and keep the smile on her face. There is definetly more than two in there...

Smiling king brought his head back down to try and hush the tiny precious lives that laid inside his mate. He could see they where causing her pain and he didn’t like to see that happen. Gently nosing her stomach ever so delicately he spoke,
" Well Love I'm not sure. Let us not worry about names until we see them out. After all we cannot name them if we don’t know what they are yet... And I think you may have more in there then last time.. of coarse they might just be larger then normal"
King laughed a little, but gently as to not disturb the babies inside of her. He turned around and was now shoulder to shoulder with Tetyawna. Using himself as a brace he would let her lean on him if she needed. Looking over to her he smiled and nickered some more nuzzling her neck a bit and breathing warm air on it. He was truly happy at this moment and he knew he would protect his mate with his life as it was now not just her life he was protecting, but his and her offspring inside of her.

Agreeing with King, she looked forward and let the wind blow through her hair. "So peaceful out here..." she said happy to find the snow was finally melting. It was fun to trot around through the white fluff but it was really cold stuff.
Closing her eyes, she thougth of what her Micah and Awnae has been up to lately. Also her step sister Amatsila. It's been long since she've met with them but someday she knew they'll walk into each other. "Remember how we met?" feeling warm and fuzzy inside herself as she said this, "oh that was such a night." Leaning closer to her mate. "You were so handsome...and still are," giggling and grinning.
They were pretty young then, it is amazing how fast time has passed by. Breathing in slowly, she could feel her stomache growling. "Uh oh, I think the babies are hungry...or maybe it's just me," laughed the mare.

" Indeed I do, and I count myself lucky that i found such a beautiful and stunning mare both in looks and personality to accept me as her mate"
King looked at her and smiled. It was long ago that they had met, time had passed quickly but he was entirely glad that Tetyawna had agreed to be his life mate. How nervous he was at first. He could remember the thoughts he had, what went through his mind.
He didn't know if she thought og him the same, if she would want to be his mate. He was older then her at the time so he thought maybe he was to old for her. But soon his worries where put to rest when he discovered that she was happy.. and that she wanted to be his mate.
" Shall we then?"
King smiled, snapping out of his thoughts. His head pointed over to a basket that Isi had brought the previous day. Inside laid a various amount of sweet grasses and oats.

Nodding. The mare got up and waited for King to follow. Then suddenly she felt her belly hurting a bit. It was like the babies were moving around in herstomache but a lot. Tetyawna knew what was coming. "Call...Isi or someone..."she said as she staretd to breathe harder. The babies were about to come out and she needed some two-legger to be there.
Her eyes squinted and she slowly laid where she stood. Breathing in and out slowly. Hoping King could find someone. It felt like a stomache ache, but a bit more hurtful. This wasn't a good area to have the babies come, last tiem with Micah and Awnae, she had a nice hay bed. Or at least it what she remembered. The tightly shut eyes started watering. Pain was growing stronger. She needed someone quick. It was time the babies come and experience the world them selves.
There was a bit of grass over by a tree. She was able to hold the weight of herself and the babies with her legs. Although her legs were wiggly. As soon as she had reached the grass, she fell and the pain grew. Her energy lowered and she barely could speak. "Quickly..."

King immeadiatly took off when he realised what was going on. Luckily for them bth he knew exactly where Isi was. His heart raced as his legs kept up to it's quickened beat. He came to a hault nickering and whinning loudly to her.
" Whats wrong King?"
Without hesitation he stopped beside her and motioned her to get on. Quickly Isi hoped on. As soon as she was on king took off as fast as he could back to his mate. In his mind he hoped with all he could that she was alright.
Isi quickly hoped off to find Tetyawan, who looked to be in an immence ammount of pain. She hushed the mare and reassured her that everything was goign to be alright and then went to her hind quarters to inspect the mare. She was starting to give birth and already Isi could see one of the foals heads crowning out from beneath Tetyawnas tail.
Rushing back she headed towards the teepee and brought out many baskets and placed then beside Tetyawana's hind. Reaching down she then started to help Tetyawna get the first one out.
Mean while King laid beside his mate and nuzzled her head.
" Easy my love, Isi will help, she helped with out last batch adn she will help again. I promise no harm will come to you or our babies."

The mare was too weak to say much but she was able to say one thing, "I know my love." Tetyawna started to put all her strength into pushing and pretty soon it was over.
She layed there breathing at a normal pace. Still weak and tired from all the work, she moved her head and watched the baskets. Smiling she switched her head to face King. "They're going to be beautiful," her smile getting even bigger. Then turnign towards Isi, not sure if the human understood soquili language or not, "Thank you."
The baskets moved a bit and the mother could tell they were going to be one fun batch to be with. Hopefulyl Micah and Awnae will find out and be happy. Although Tetyawna kinda hoped none of them really turned out like Awnae. (she still of course cared for her first daughter though) A satisfied sigh was the last action before she had fallen asleep on the grass.

King hushed his mate and licked her cheek.
“ You did well my love… and I have great news… there’s 4 of them”
Kings face beamed proudly as Isi went up to both of them and patted them before going into the teepee to mark this occasion down, as well as start supper. King carefully nudged all the baskets to Tetyawna’s side and then laid down on the other close to her to keep her warm.
King was indeed proud and he was determined to make this batch be a closer knit one then the last. He still loved his older children just as much, and he would not favor either batch, he loved them all equally.
