I'm obsessed with these dolls but have no idea on how to buy them. I went to dollmore.com
I chose the MSD outfits and shoes and wigs and all that. I chose Life Like Acrylic 18mm Special Colors - Red 18 LDS-04 eyes. (Btw: I want a guy doll.) Now, I don't even have the doll body or anything. (Yeah I know, I'm a geniouse. =___=; ) So, what kinda doll should I get? Is any of that stuff right? or is all mixed up?...Someone help me, I'm totally confused.

First of all, you want a smaller doll right?
The MSD stuff is for ~43cm, so start by looking at companies who make MSDs. Dollmore, Luts, Dollzone, Latidoll,Dream of Doll and many others all make MSDs. Some MSDs are slimmer and typical MSD clothing is too baggy( like Latidoll's new Blueline boys, who arent standard release yet, and the MiniFee at Luts)
When you pick out a mold you like, consider the measurements of the doll. See what model the company lists as being shown in the clothing on the site, then look up that doll and see if they have similar measurements...its an easy way to see if the clothing you like will fit. Also see what size eyes the company recommends. While you picked out 18mm eyes, the doll you like might need 12mm,14mm, or 16mm eyes, in which case you'll end up with either a big eyed doll or eyes that dont fit period.
Very carefully consider which mold you like, because how the face is painted can drastically change a mold's look. You might want to checkout the databases on Den of Angels, which is a great resource if you arent already a member. Id recommend joining.
go ahead and pm if you need anything

You think thats big? You should see a Hound...they're 70cm tall!
Once you have one in your hand, they dont at all feel big. MSDs nestle very comfortably in one's arms, and I feel very comfortable holding my Camine, who is 64cm. Im not very tall( 5'4) and they dont feel big at all. I walked around an anime convention with 2 SD dolls for an entire day....it gets bit tiring becuase they are heavy....I know a 5 ft tall girl in Australia that can haul 5 Hounds at once and be ok....lol she looks pretty funny though

lol they really arent that bad xd They dont really weigh much more than any other SD size...they're just very long the ~43cm ones arent much bigger than a Barbie, and there are smaller ones, like Soul little Metel is only 11 inches tall( Souldoll), then there are the little MSDs from Orientdoll, who are very small and lightweight. I think Soom Minigems are very small too, but Im not completely sure of thier size On Den of Angels, you can put up a picture request to see people holding different sized dolls so you can better see scale. I think there are several threads like that already, so just search and then ask if you dont find what you are looking for

Woot! I found two boy dolls I really like! Ok, The first one I'm gonna buy is $349.00 He is a D.O.C. (Uh, what is that?...)
But, It doesn't come with the wig! Why not!? "Wig: The wig in this image will not sent together with the doll" Nuuu! You would think if you were gonna pay that much for a doll you would get the damn wig!
Oh also: pair of default eyes(random color)/ ; 16mm half round acrlic eyes [you can't choose the color] .The Acryl Eye can not be changed to the Glass one. You can change the eyes if you have a different pair of 16mm half round acrlic (Btw, Half round?...)
Make up:They goes without any painting on their face. Make up stuff?...Haha. But would it make the doll look better?...I mean...I don't even have 300 bucks yet...And he's gonna stay in his old cloths for quite a while.

"makeup" definately makes the doll look better. Otherwise....well...they look kinda creepy and pinkish-white. We have a few DoCs coming actually- a BeeA and a Si, belonging to my mom and sister. DoC is the name of the particular line of dolls, Dream of Child. DoT stands for Dream of Teen. DoC boys will fit in pretty much any MSD clothing, and they're really cute biggrin
What doll is it? Im pretty sure all DoCs come with a wig, except the BeeA and Too set.
The thing about makeup is that if you dont buy it from the company, you can always find someone offering free faceups on Den of Angels, or one for less expensive. Dream of Doll faceups cost $40 for the DoCs, and you can pick the color pallete to use( brown is my fave) but they always look the same as in the picture, except maybe in a slightly different color. You can find others to do one more specific to your tastes. My sis and I just did two Homme Ducans(DoT), one based on Capt. Jack Sparrow and one looking like Brian Molko(lead singer of Placebo).

Do you mean this one? On his page, it says; "Wig: The wig in this image will not sent together with the doll, you will have a wig that is shown in full-set image. " This means that he'll come with the wig that his full-set(the version of him that comes with clothes) is wearing. :] Which is nicer, because it isn't a fur wig. You can buy any kind(glass, acrylic, etc) of 16mm eyes from any BJD store and they'll fit on him, but you can't request a certain color or glass eyes for the ones that come free with him from Dream of Doll. 3nodding

Usually they come with the color they are shown with, regardless of the fact that it says "random". I buy my eyes from Artistique becuase they are very inexpensive and I can try a bunch of different ones to see what I like. They only have very natural colors and looks though, so nothing like yellow or neon green or red, etc.

Aahh. surprised Si is cute. He comes with the wig the doll next to him is wearing, too, rather than the one shown in the picture though. I'm pretty sure DOCs wear size 7-8 wigs.

Look for wigs in the 7-8 size. You can find really nice ones on ebay all the time too. My sister is getting a Si! We're excited about him.....4-5 weeks to wait for him to arrive... xp
