 Apple-oosa trotted around happily. Swishing his long tail behind him, the large gray stallion smiled and looked around at his surroundings. He loved that there was a new member added to the teepee where he lived. The small bear was a sweetheart, just like her name. Ears swivling around, like radars, picked up every sound around him as he continued trotting. As he made his way to the river, Apple bent his head down to take a sip of the cool refreshing water, as his eyes scanned the area around him wondering if there were any Soquili around, in which he could be friend.

 Esha had awakened that morning with a will to get out and see the land and feel the wind in her mane. But after a few hours of wandering thirst had called her to the river. She made her way to its banks at an easy pace, her long tail and mane trailing out lightly behind her, like ribbons in the breeze. She slowed as the shimmer of the water became apparent and blinked her warm eyes under dark lashes. It looked as if someone else was already here. A smile graced her muzzle. Company was always a pleasure.
"Hello there," she whickered in a friendly manner, dipping her front hooves into the water as she lowered her head gently, her smile remanining.

Lifting his head a little, Apple smiled at this mare. He hadn't ever met her before, maybe this ment a new friend? She seemed very friendly, so Apple too was friendly. "Good day miss." The stallion bowed his head politely as he answered the mare's greeting. Apple looked at the mare with a smile. Noticing the hearts on sticks on the mare's rump Apple smiled. He wasn't the only one here with something on his rump. Turning his head a little, the stallion looked at the red and green apples on his rump, then looked back at the mare.

"So polite!" she said with a warm laugh. She didn't mind either way. She was easily accepting of others and this was no different. He seemed friendly, which was a good thing though. She knew some were more loners then others and didn't want company. She was glad she didn't seem to be imposing. "I'm Esha," she introduced herself as she lifted her head a little, her stance relaxing comfortably where she stood.

The stallion smiled and let out a small laugh as he listened to the mare's name, then said it in his head a few times. Esha, Esha, Esha. He thought as he tried to remember the beautiful name this mare was given. "Well hello there Esha, I'm Apple-oosa, but you can just call me Apple." Apple said knowing she would remember his name by the big Apples on his rump. He was glad that this mare wasn't like the mare's that didn't like to talk to others, and kept to herself. Usually, it was hard to talk to those that didn't talk to others.

"You were named well," she said with a chuckle, "It's a pleasure to meet you." And it was, for meeting new individuals was one of her favorite things in life, just like seeing new places and watching every day change and become unique. She couldn't wish for anything more then that. She nodded her head, flickering her ears back in a friendly gesture and lifting it again, with a small swish of her tail upwards, its multi-hued treads trailing to the ground.

The stallion smiled at the mare. "Why thank you, I believe I was blessed to have such handsome markings on me, and such a handsome name." Apple said with a smile and a small laugh. "The pleasure is all mine." He said trying to sound very polite. Ears swivling around, the stallion smiled and still listened to all that was around him. The stallion heard a few birds whistling from one to the other, and squirrels making their little chirping noises. Apple loved all the sounds, and everything there was to see.

Esha chuckled. Well, it certainly looked like someone was quite comfortable with their looks! She knew others didn't always have high self esteem, but she was glad when they did. It made it easier for them to live their lives more fully, which was better for everyone. She knew she enjoyed every moment because she loved who she was. "So," she murmured with a warm neigh, "You out for a drink, I presume?"

Listening to the mare's kind voice, the stallion smiled and bent his head down for a little more water. After taking a sip of water, Apple lifted his head back up to the mare's level. "Yes, and I'm guessing you are too?" Apple said with a warm smile towards the mare. "Your marking is very beautiful." He said gesturing towards the hearts on sticks on the mare's back. It was nice to meet another Soquili with a marking in the same place as his.

"More or less," Esha agreed, tilting her head as she looked at him before lowing it to the water's level and taking a nice long drink, quenching her thirst. She began to lift her head only to pause midway at his comment. She smiled a little and then turned her head to its normal height, giving her tail a soft flick, ruffling that multi-hued hair that hung from it, "Why thank you very much. That's very sweet."

Apple smiled and looked as the mare's tricolored mane and tail blew in the wind as she took a drink of water. When the mare paused, the stallion held his breath hoping he didn't say something stupid. Once the mare finally let out a smile, Apple sighed in relief. Watching the mare's tail flick around, Apple smiled then nodded his head at her comment. "You are very welcome, and I was only sayig what I was thinking." He nodded then let out another smile.

Esha smiled, the warmth never leaving her expression, no matter how cold the air was out here in the middle of winter. "Well aren't you sweet," she laughed, but it was a genuine comment and her chuckle was more of amusement and content, for it held no trace of mockery at all. Purposeful malice seemed to be something Esha was capable of. She was too easy going, and too busy enjoying the richness of life for such things.

The stallion shrugged a little at the mare's comment. Trotting a little in place, Apple tried to keep warm. "Do you wanna go on a walk?" He asked hoping she would say yes, so he could warm up. Twitching his tail a little, he lefted up a hoof and stomped in on the ground some, for pure fun. Apple smiled at the mare, to make sure she didn't think he was mad and stomping his hoof out of anger.

Esha blew gently through her nostrils, her warm breath showing like a white mist before her. When it faded her smile remained and he tossed her head in a small, quick nod, "Sounds like a wonderful idea." For while she enjoyed the winter, she wasn't unfeeling towards the cold. Some movement would warm her muscles and besides-she always loved a good walk or so with some nice company. So she took a light prance forward, her movements smooth but warmly energetic as she moved to follow him.

Smiling at the mare, Apple nodded and began at a light prance. Legs lifting up to his chest, the stallion looked more eligant than ever. As he calmed down, he blew out a puff of white air that slowly lifted into the air and disappeared. "So Miss Esha, what do you usually do for fun around here?" Apple asked looking to the mare with his usual small smile across his face.
