Sleep was something that he hadn't been getting much of... At least, not nearly as much as he would've liked getting. His waking hours were split between courting Rogue and trying to be a good father to his three foals without angering their mother. He understood why he'd never had a family before... And he was relieved that he and Rogue had decided to take things slow.
He was sleeping now, of course, trying to catch up on everything that he'd been missing. He had no plans; no obligations. Nothing. Just a chance to lean against a tree, head hanging between his forelegs. The sun had risen but all was still silent... A beautiful forest morning where he could pretend that there was still darkness remaining.

She was going to kill him. At least she was going to kill him if she could actually walk that far. It had taken a few weeks to notice anything strange but now the little extra weight she was putting on had a name. Foals.
He'd gotten her pregnant! After all that and after her thinking that they'd have time and him already with a family and now she was having foals too. How dare he! At least she wasn't completely fat yet. She just seemed to have less energy than normal. Spirits help him if she couldn't run in a few weeks.
Tossing her head she walked along the edge of the forest. "Remy LeBeau where are you...."

His eyes opened at the sound of his name moving through the forest, head lifting slowly as he scanned the line of trees. "Rogue...?" He shook his head slowly as he straightened himself out. That had to be here. No one else had ever called him by his...
Oh, yes they had... But only when he was in trouble. Maybe he didn't want to be found. Things had been going so well... "Chere, if Ah answer you, y'ain't gonna yell at me, are you?"

"Yell? No..." She'd scream at him instead. She headed in the direction of his voice hoping that she'd find him before he could get away. He wasn't allowed to get away until she'd had her piece of him and he understood that he was in damn deep trouble.

His dark coat stood out easily against the pale light of day. "Chere..." What had he done wrong? Other than Kitara and his three foals he hadn't seen anyone other than her. There was no one else. He'd told her that and... And she'd seemed like she'd believed him. "Rogue... Everythin' alright?"

"Oh .. yes. Everything is peachy." Her smiled was tight as she stopped a few feet away from him. "Notice anything ... different about me?" If he didn't notice that she'd put on weight she'd kick him and just leave. He could find out after they were born.

Different? There was no good answer to that question. His eyes drifted over her slowly, taking in every curve. What was different about her? Everything looked the same. Every...
He paused as his eyes came to her stomach. The soft curves of her body now seemed a bit more defined. His brow furrowed slightly. "Chere... You... Puttin' on weight? Ain't like you..." Then, then it made sense. "Rogue... Chere, love, you carryin' mah foals?"

"And we have a winner." She snorted. "You already have a family and you're ignoring them for me and you go and get me pregnant too!"
Her voice had raised with each word she spoke until she was in fact yelling at him.

Those words coming from her hurt. They were worse than a kick to the side; hitting harder than the coldest sip from a stream. He had never ignored his family. He had watched his foals grow until they were 'old enough' to wander about on their own. They were free. Free as their mother had been. Free as he had been.
"Don't you evah say Ah ignore mah family. Ah nevah ignore them. Ah take care o' what's mahn, Chere an' d'at includes you. Y'ain't gonna treat me like Ah jus' gonna leave... Ah ain't gonna let you."

He didn't get it. He had a family already. He didn't need her for a family or little ones or any of that nonsense. They had just gotten things worked out so she didn't feel like he was going to run off with someone better any moment and now this. They weren't ready for this.
"That's not the issue Remy. Foals .. FOALS." She shook her head slightly. "We're not ready for foals. It's too much ... we just got ... "

"I am yelling. Can't you tell!" She shook her head again and looked over at her side. She was angry with him for this but she was happy somewhere under there. She was going to be a mother but damn it if Remy wasn't an idiot.

"Yes you're an idiot .. and ... and" She tried really hard not to sniffle. You were suppose to be happy about foals not worrying about stupid things. "... and i'm an idiot too."
Damn it she'd come here meaning to be pissed at him not to start thinking that he was going to leave again. He'd practically left whatever her name was for her so what was stopping him from leaving her too?

Moodswings. Hadn't he just done away with those? He shook his head slowly, nickering softly as he made his way closer to the brightly colored mare. He stretched his neck out, gently brushing his muzzle against her cheek. "Chere... You ain't no idiot... An' neither'm Ah. Well, Ah am, but not 'cause we havin' foals."
