RH Reality Check

Another 2006 report, this one by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy claims that changes in boys' sexual behavior have contributed to the national decline in the teen-pregnancy rate. "For years, we have overlooked the importance of involving adolescent boys," said Lorraine Lathen, vice president of community education for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. "They should be viewed as the second half of the pregnancy prevention equation." The program, initiated by Planned Parenthood, started in late 2005. They plan on sending experienced health educators to community organizations, churches and public schools in the central city.

Sexual double standard, anyone?

There has always been a double standard.
ALWAYS.

Only women get pregnant so it's a woman's reponsibility and problem.

Ever see any men get kicked out of the house or be killed/threatened to be killed or beaten etc. because they got some girl pregnant?

My freshmen year of high school, we were given half a year of gym the the other half was 'health ed' - basically drug prevention and some "these are STDs, what they look like, how to prevent them, how to treat them etc." and some abstinence only s**t.
Even though I might have disagreed with the abstinence stuff, the STD education was real and worthwhile.

The girls took health first while the boys had gym, and when it came to switching over classes, guess what happened?
The boys (not the teacher) downvoted the idea of health class because they 'rather play dodgeball then sit in a classroom doing work and getting homework'
And the gym teacher agreed with them because he didn't want to bring up the subject of sex with them at all. rolleyes

That's bullshit. They should have been forced to go through with it.

Bullshit indeed. We didn't have such a thing (far as I heard; I think I was off sick). We had everyone shoved into the one classroom. It was during our Lifeskills period.
