I figure we can use this thread to talk about both our real life Valentine's stuff and also the Gaia event that starts tomorrow (wonder what it will involve?) I want to share the yummy necklace I got this weekend for Valentine's Day. I have a thing for rubies and have lots of ruby jewelry (including my wedding ring), and it would be my birthstone if I had been born a day earlier. I also really like pink sapphires, but my pink sapphire collection isn't nearly as big as my ruby one.  It's the one with the big ol' honkin' ruby on the pendant. I saw it in Sunday's Sears ad and wanted to see it for myself, and it was bigger than I expected! Oh you know what? Now that I compare mine to the picture, it's slightly different. Mine has 2 small diamonds: one up top inside the gold heart (there's space around it) and a second one surrounded by a heart on the little gold piece at the top of the ruby. I like the way mine looks better than that one. 3nodding

I got some chocolate covered strawberries this weekend Kevin brought home from work. I don't think I'm getting anything tomorrow, which is fine. Usually kevin has to work (cuz he's an executive chef and it's one if the busier nights of the year for restaurants) hopefully he'll bring me a yummy dinner home tho

Ooooh, a yummy dinner! heart Yeah, I can totally believe tomorrow will be busy at restaurants! We're going out this weekend in Santa Fe, probably to Red Lobster.
We got Jade a cute little make-up set from KB Toys (she's going to go nuts! and much as I hate the mess, this is what she really likes!) and a Hello Kitty jelly pop. We'll wake her and surprise her tomorrow morning before Jason takes off to work.
I remember when I was little, I'd always either get a heart box of chocolates or a small stuffed animals. I liked the stuffed animals more!

redface Jess is taking me to Vegas from Saturday till Tuesday...
And tonight we're just getting a cheap room here in the town I work in and having take-out.
I got her a Red Sox bear from Build-a-Bear, since she has teddy bears for each of the other Boston sports teams, she needed a Red Sox one. And there's no better bear than a Build-a-Bear bear!

is there just one item in this event? you would think they could have at least made another necklace with a black stone that had the option for black broken hearts to float around.... lol

That is a really good idea, with the broken hearts! I did wonder if whoever was in charge of VDay on Neopets was feeling anti-sentimental and bitter because of all the smashed cakes and broken hearts and stuff. lol
I'm kind of glad they only did one item this time and that it was pretty easy to get, because did you notice how the site wasn't obnoxiously slow, and I only ever got one database error?

I think I'm done with the event for myself. I got 21 necklaces and I'm getting sick of them. I sent 12 off for holding to be sold in a year or two, gave 2 to my sis and 2 to Jade. I've kissed 106 people and the meter doesn't seem to go beyond goddess at 50 kisses, even though it told me at goddess to keep kissing to increase rank! (Maybe it meant just for the top kissers list?)

LOOK HEREand yeah the site was actually surfable during an event...which in itself is rather odd...but i still think my idea would have been cool....lol

i'm not sure if i'll participate mush more, i was just going for the next lot of gold but it didn't seem to be forthcoming, i think i'vr got 5 necklaces now. i did get to kiss a rather sexy alien though heart
