Tournament rules!
Alright so this thing will start any day from now so here are the rules:
Fighting method:
Two options are open to you:
Classic action tags battles:
*Swings left* Take that!
*Quickly dodges and trips him* Ah ha!
Novelized:
As he notices his opponent's eyes turning away for a little less than a second he unleashes a devastating right hook with all the strength he can gather shouting from the bottom of his lungs, "take that!"
Seeing his tactic worked on his simple minded adversary he easily dodges the fierce blow and swipes his leg unable to hold back a satisfactory "Ah ha!" as he sees his opponent crashing towards the cold earth.
Both have their advantages and inconvenients, only thing is that both fighters have to agree on one fighting method from the start so one gets confused.
There is also a posting order that will have to be maintained throughout the whole fights so things don't get too confusing:
Fighter 1
Fighter 2
Fighter 1
Fighter 2
Secondary participant (1-...)
The only one who will be allowed to post out of this order will be the Cyberdome AI who can add stage hazards or mentions collateral damage from all the fighting. Unless absolutely necessary (which I sincerely doubt will happen) he will not modify the effect of your actions. For example, he'll never step in saying "no no! this punch should have done a lot more damage to you!", he's leaving this to your better judgement so play fair!
Setting:
The fun part about the cyberdome is that, contrarily to most other RP tournaments planned to take place on this forum, we will modify characters to have them fight on a brand new colorful setting. One major challenge will be for the contenders to stay true to their characters while having them altered in varied ways. Example: Wally West and Raven show up for their fight. Cyberdome places them in a 17th century pirate setting. Wally West now turns into Captain Wallace West, commander of The Flash, fastest vessel of the british fleet, whom has just spotted The Mystique, the most feared pirate smuggling ship of the seven seas. So as you can see, wally won't move at light speed and Raven won't constantly shape shift in this setting, it'll probbly start in a classic naval battle until one crew will try to take over the other ship, leading the conflict in a sword fight. This brings us up to our next point:
Secondary participants:
People who are there on the day of the fight and would like to get involved will have the opportunity to do so. For example, Captain West might have a lieutenant on his ship named Edward Brock wo contracted a strange tropical disease that increased his strength while leaving him stuck with a severe personality disorder. He will get half as many interventions as the main players but will get to interact with random NPCs of his choice or with the other(s) unofficial participant(s).
Judging:
This will be different from most fights, winners won't be decided by who is the last man standing at the end of the fight but by a vote that will take place for one week after the fight. People will get to read the fight and then say who they believe should win, on criterias of originality and RP quality. This is why TAKING A BLOW DOESN'T MATTER! The important thing is to have fun and put on a good show for everyone.
Prizes
Prizes will be given at the award ceremony that will be held once the championship ends completely. Prizes will be given to the champion and to a secondary participant (read "secondary participants" section) that will have been voted as the best.
