I just read this book and Blood Bound both by Patricia Briggs! They are the best books I have read set in an Anita type universe. I am quite honestly obsessed with them almost as much as with Anita.

I love the main character Mercy Thompson, but I also love all the other characters in the books.

The main character is a shapeshifter/skinwalker who can turn into a coyote at any time. It also has werewolf politics and vampire politics in it. It has fae in the picture as well as some interesting witches. I loved the story line of both books. They were action packed page turners, with romantic tension in the background, but not all up in your face like the LKH books now are.

I really loved both, and I wondered if anyone else had read them.

Hm... I don't know if I would want to read another author/ other books similar to Laurell K. Hamilton and Anita Blake. One of the things that first had me falling in love with the series was their sense of originality and LKH's unique style. Then again, maybe I'll see what these other books have to offer before I judge. Never judge a book, and all that.

I've read Moon Called and absolutely love it! There's a second book to that one coming out in a month or so! I can't wait to get it. Mercy was really cool.

Have you guys checked out Kim Harrion's works? They're pretty neat too, since it's nearly like a blend between the Anita-verse and the Meriditm Gentry one. The characters are really likeable too. smile

I have read all of Kim Harrison's books and am waiting for the latest one and also Kelly Armstrong has some really good books too dealing with werewolves , witches some vamps and sorcerers and a ghost !!! mostly her wolf series is darn cool though !!!! The first book is "Bitten" but she has a series that meshes with it called "Dime Store Magic" nice books. Right now I' reading "Blood and Chocolate before I see the movie when it comes on video maybe some time this summer most likely. Another decent sereies is the "Zodiac" by Vicki Petersen the first book left me wanting so much more and it has nothing to do with vamps or wolves and such but demons and superhero like people. Check it out some time.

I have never heard of that one but I'll add it to my list. It sounds interesting and a character named Mercy should be a treat.

I still have to read Dead Witch Walking and catch up with the other books. So much to read and so little time.

It's the next book of the series... it's very short...but like the early Anita... she puts everything in in a couple of days. You still have to read dead witch walking! *gasp* the next book is already out! Read it when u get the chance it's worth it.

I'm waiting until my birthday in June to purchase all the books I need so I won't feel like I'm reading through them so fast and even then it will most likely only take me a couple of weeks to read them. The ladies at my local store are just way too helpful in suggesting books to read and its partly their fault I'm into so many but I love them anyway !!! and the Mercy books are awsome and I own both due to the manager of the bookstore !!!

Yea I have read both Moon Called and Blood Bound. I love them both. Mercy is awesome and I have a particular fondness for the head guy of the pack that lives behind her. He sounds smexy.

I just saw those at the bookstore yesterday! xD
I was debating on whether or not I actually wanted to get them, and now I think I will!

And I LOVE Kelly Armstrong's books! My friend Heather got me hooked on them.

But the ones that I did buy yesterday are turning out to be pretty good.
The first one is called The Becoming.
It's a lot like the Anita series.
You should check them out!

I knew it would magically appear after I posted a new thread! And to think I posted in it and forgot about it xD

Anyway, I just read both Mercy Thompson books and they were good. I liked them more and more as I read on.

And still procrastinating on Dead Witch Walking. Awful of me, I know.
