User ImageHaveo was glad to see his pack in the near distance for two simple reasons. He loved seeing their faces when they were able to enjoy a meal, it brought warmth to his heart.

The other reason was trailing behind him. Usually it was Haiji who brought in others wasn't it. Well, change was good. He looked behind him, hoping that Kianga would start to lighten up. He smiled gently. Soon, he hoped, that she would be able to forget about her self-consiousness.

Kianga kept somewhat close to Haveo, though he wasnt that familiar, he was the MOST familiar to her and that would have to be enough. She knew she couldnt really be a wanderer all her life, this was her chosen moment and she would just be forced to deal with it.

Despite the shell she had built around herself due to her shy nature, she was feeling rather jubilant. It had been a long while since she last socialized in a more than one on one enviroment. Kianga wasnt really shy once assured that she was around friends. And friends were deffinatly something she was in need of. She wagged her tail as much as she could so she wouldnt seem nervous or angry or anything else the pack would probably dislike.

User ImageIt was the first time in her life that Ujuzi questioned her reasoning, her understanding of others...

... her parenting skills.

Naturally this uncertainty didn't show. Kengee knew well how absolutely stubborn his mate was when it came to showing her emotional pains and insecurities. It manifested in small ways yet still.

On the hunts, very rarely she would nearly miss small cues, where normally she was quite on point with her head in the game. She seemed to have unknowingly become reserved once more as well, though one could assume this was only because her pups didn't need her doting over them anymore. What had she done, however, to drive both Gzifa -and- Kinye away without a goodbye? Well, the Mhenga surely didn't know, but brooding over it certainly wasn't going to help her figure it out.

It was nearing time that the pack would organize a hunt, but as far as Ujuzi knew, this time Haveo had set out on his own to do a bit of it. The problem was that this left Ujuzi with nothing to do but wait for his return and try to dodge her heavy thoughts.

She was seated on the top of the hill that housed the den that she'd once shared with the pups and Kengee. She anticipated their relocating any day now, it was just a matter of where (Which was ultimately Haiji's decision,) and when.

User ImageHaiji herself had been very withdrawn too. Of course she led a few hunts, or encouragingly joined in when others had mind to take down an antelope for dinner. But when not doing this, she spent alot of time thinking and gathering information. It was little secret that the king of the pride in this area had been killed. No worse, murdered... and that upset Haiji's stomach more than a week-long-dead carcass (not that spare meat would stay around that long out here, or that she'd go hungry than eat something as rotten).

The place was changing, as was the attitude of its inhabitants and the lions. Many were much more anxious of new-comers and concerned about their future. There seemed to be a daughter leading now, and every day Haiji would go and see what she could find out about the going's ons. Was the new ruler peaceful? Would there be any up-risings? And was the murderer still about? It kept her busy and alone and this was something the social animal did not like.

It was time to move on.

She had watched Ujuzi's pups grow. They were well on their way to adulthood now. Certainly old enough and strong enough to travel and explore with the pack. They'd lingered here much too long....

So it was with this decision that she set out to find her pack-sister, Ujuzi, and tell the others to prepare. Not that it took very long at all to find her atop the hill of her den.

"Ujuzi." She called. "The winds are shifting and our paws must shake off their sleep. It is time to go."

User Image((Just snagging one quick reply, heart ))

She was thankful to hear Haiji's voice, it shook her from the road her thoughts had taken once again to wandering. The advisor shifted to look towards her alpha and friend as she approached, taking in her words and heeding them well.

"I agree." She replied naturally, for it was like her to be completely honest. These lands had brought about many changes, some within the pack, some within the land itself. Two members had wandered away due to becoming bored with the life in the Pridelands, or at least that was all that Ujuzi could guess after she and Gzifa's last discussion, but it was a perfectly natural part of life to want to wander wasn't it?

There was a small part of her that did want to stay, to wait for her children to return unharmed, to welcome them back... but she wouldn't voice it.

They had known that the Hamaji would travel, they'd heard the story almost countless times, and some seemed not so willing to accept this while others of their offspring seemed eager. Ujuzi did not think that she'd have children again for a while after this, she and Kengee needed the rest and her heart needed the time to take in the truth. Her daughters were gone, and it was likely that she'd never see them again.

"It's time.... we're ready, Haiji." She bowed her head this time, a formal show of respect and agreement not at all uncharacteristic.

User ImageThe male moved slower as they approached Ujuzi's den. He felt the air chainging too. Violet orbs glanced at the nervous female behind him. They were moving already. He nodded, this would eitehr raise tensions or lower them. Either way he would be able to deal with it.

He set the meal down, shaking off undried blood. "Stay here for a bit Kianga. Just make sure no one tries to steal our kill. I need to talk to our Mhenga and Akida."

Haveo left her for a moment. He sensed the seriousness in the air. He trusted that they would continue leading the pack well. He nosed both of the females, bowing his head a bit. "I have returned. With two kills...and a female. She's a rouge, shy and doesn't have much experience. But I think it would be good for us and her if she joined us. I will take full responsibility over her." The male kept his head bowed. All he needed was their answer, whether it be action or words.

Kianga obeyed Haveo, She sat down upon the heat of the ground with the dead creatures in front of her, soon to be the meal of the pack. She watched Haveo with curious eyes as he dissappeared into what Kianga guessed was a den. Her nose was spiked with a bit of curiousity as well and obeying her nature she lifted her nose gingerly into the air and breathed in.

She automatically sorted through the scents that she knew, Haveo, the food, the damp air. Truth be told she wanted to make sure she wasnt to be dinner/sacrafice of an African God. When she was pup her mother told her and her sisters stories of the cruel and unforgiving gods, she was sure it was just a joke but with the whispers of murder about it could be true, couldnt it? But there was no African god in that den, no what she was smelling was probably two different wild dogs who smelled strongly like females.

His leader is a female? How very odd.. Kianga had assumed that the leader would be a male, of course he would have a mate but surely she didnt make all the decisions? Assuming she has a mate..

Her ears twitched towards the den and she leaned her head down towards the ground, stretching it out as much as she could. She strained to listen to the conversation, most of Haveo sound garbled, all she could truly hear was him claiming to take full responsibility for her..

User Image(( I think they're on top of a hill, rather than in the den? ))

Haiji returned Ujuzi's bow with a nod, then smiling she trotted over and touched her face lightly with her nose in a more friendly greeting. She appreciated the respect but she appreciated Ujuzi more.

"You pups are old enough to travel? Why, they are almost as big as us! I feel we have lingered too long here and now... well, surely you know the rummors of the king's death?" She looked with a worried glance towards Pride Rock. "But not only that. My wandering spirit, and surely the rest of the pack's, is growing restless." She hoped Ujuzi understood what she meant. The desire to explore had always been in her heart, just like the pack of old. But now there were others with her, many of them, and she hoped they felt the same.

"Ujuzi.... the two girls..." She began quietly. She hadn't failed to notice their absence but hadn't yet had a chance to talk to Ujuzi about it. She wasn't too worried about the grown pups. If they were in any danger, taken by force or lost, Ujuzi would have come and told her straight away to organise a search. The fact that she didn't made her think it was more of a free choice. She did worry about Ujuzi though, she was her friend after all.

But before she could say more, Haveo appeared. She looked to him and gave a friendly thump of her tail against the ground.

"A female?" Haiji tilted her head and looking around. Apart from the pups, the only other 'stranger' to join them was Dafina. "Your responsibility and opinion is noted." She said, not unkindly. "But I would like to meet her first."

User Image((Yep yep, on top of the hill where the den is located, :3))

For a brief moment Ujuzi's tongue washed the base of one of Haiji's ears before the older female fully settled in to converse. But then, it didn't seem there'd be a chance for that, as just as Haiji began to speak of the recent developments (earning a nod from Ujuzi as the Akida asked if her Mhenga knew of the Lion King's death), Haveo appeared.

Ujuzi shifted her attention politely to the male as well, interested by the news, allowing herself to become somewhat distracted for the time being by pack business.

Another potential member, that would put them back up in numbers, leaving them, then, only one short.

Now fully settled into pack life, Ujuzi had gone back to being her usual silent-supporting ways. She had turned to face Haveo from where she sat beside their alpha, calmly observing the conversation. Her only input was to add a non-verbal nod of agreement to Haiji's response. Haveo had taken responsibility for Dafina as well, and it seemed things had turned out alright with him. Ujuzi was comfortable putting a bit more trust in the younger dog's judgement, but for the sake of keeping things for everyone fair, meeting Haiji before joining formally was in everyone's best intrest.

The news of two kills was certainly good as well, so Ujuzi's guess had been right, then the whole pack could probably meet her once the others came to feed. She hoped that Haveo's new companion wouldn't be overwhelmed by the number.

User ImageHaveo looked up and smiled. It would be nice to have some new blood around here. He bowed, and turned to show them her location. Though, they only needed to follow their noses to the kills.

He smiled upon seeing the yellow-spotted female. He nodded to her and sat nearby. It was their judgement and it was all up to her.

Kianga stood nervously upon Haveo's arrival, it unnerved her just a little to see him for he was after all the only one she knew so far. Never being in a pack before gave her very little knowledge of how to show her respect. She hadnt met very many creatures since her departure from home and even then all she knew were her mothers and sisters. Her mother was a wanderer just like her, Kianga wondered sometimes whether she wanted to be or because no pack would except her because of her sporatic behavior.

Kianga shrugged it off and focused on the moment at hand, the past wasnt important to her anymore. If she was to survive long enough she would have had to join a pack sooner or later and this one seemed to fall right untill place, perhaps it was destiny. Now she would wait and see what fate had planned for her.

User ImageWith a smile at her friend and Mhenga, Haiji trotted after Haveo. She assumed Ujuzi would follow her and meet the newcomer too.

It wasn't difficult to spot the spotted female, waiting for them. Not to mention the scent of two kills nearby. That would be a good meal for the growing pack. She was impressed.

With a little nod and a small smile, she looked Kianga.
"Did you help catch these?" She motioned to the carcasses with her snout. "I am grateful, as I'm sure the pack will be too. Thank you."

"Haveo has spoken about you too. Says you desire our pack's companionship? So, what is your name golden one?"

Kianga tryed to relax herself as they approached and smiled stiffly.

"Yes, I kind of helped catch one" she nodded, kind of was the key word. She was sure that Haveo would have been able to do it easily without her but all the same she did what she could.

"Oh..my name is Kianga" It was the only right thing her mother ever did was give her a decent name, she thought bitterly. "I would very much like to join your pack, and I promise I wont get in the way" she smiled, feeling a little more comfortable, it would be nice to be in a pack. It would almost be like having a family, or maybe that would be exactly how it felt.

"I'll do whatever I can to help out"

User ImageThe new-comer was nervous, that much was certain, and Haiji wondered what exactly of? Her? She was alpha after all, but she was not a particularly imposing figure. Perhaps Kianga, as she had introduced herself, was simply very shy?

She sat down, at ease, a smile on her face. "Thank you Kianga. You know... being pack of a pack, a family from different ancestors, is rather like being in the way... It's being there for the other members. Sticking up for them as they would do for you. Loyalty, comfort, strength."

She dipped her head a little as she looked Kianga's eyes. "And you've already shown an important quality, without even having been accepted; 'helping'."

Turning abruptly, she looked back over to Haveo and then to Ujuzi, looking to see their reactions to the newcomer as well. She valued their opinions.

Haveo smiled a little, just to encourage Kianga a bit. He wanted to make sure the lighter female would grow out of her shyness, with a bit of help.

He nodded to Haiji. "I've worked with her only once. But it was enough to know she has great potential."
