AIM RP Log; Kijibwa and Kenzi
It was the early afternoon in the tree-covered Jungle, the shades kept the adult lioness cool. Her golden-brown eyes kept a close eye around, as to make sure that she was well hidden from any other life. Her large blue toned wings were hidden, for she didn't want to reveal herself. The mortals were strange creatures, and it had been literally ages since she'd even trekked about in the mortal world. She thought the skies were a more comforting place to stay. The other world was just too ... sharp, and 'dangerous' for her to be bothered in trying to stick around it for too long. She sighed, as she sprawled over, lying on her back.
Her ears twitched as she raised her paws into the air, kicking them around playfully, to amuse herself. She rolled around on her back, some of her access fur falling out in the process. Sneezing, she shook herself and then sat back up, peering about.
Their days in the Jungle were soon coming to an end, Kijibwa knew, for they had already started to plan their trip to the Pridelands. Siku would get to see her family, the girls would get to meet them and he'd.. get to meet them and hope against getting mauled for taking Siku to the Jungle. Whatever the case was, Kijibwa was taking advantage of some of the remaining time in the Jungle and was out for a nice walk. He was a good distance from the waterfall they lived at, and indeed a bit of a walk from the river that came from it. He was just there to enjoy himself, and this happened to be where that had taken him. The lion was not often too attentive to his surroundings, but he was surprised when he heard what sounded like a sneeze.
"Huh?" he paused, looking around with a curious smile, "Someone there?"
It was never a bad time to talk to someone..
Shocked in hearing a voice, the young goddess fled behind a nearby group of trees. Her ears lowered as she rolled her eyes. Typical. She could not go ANYWHERE without getting noticed by some random mortal. Squinting, she flicked her tail around and watched the fool head towards where her mark was left in the flattened grass. As he came closer, she made sure her wings were hidden, before heading out to greet him. "Oh, hello there! ... ... sorry if I scared you. I ... sneeze pretty loudly!" She chuckled, and kept a notable distance from the lion. Her expression was quite blank, as she just ... stared at him. Slanting her eyes, she looked away, thinking of what to follow it up with.
"I uhh ... ... i'm not from around here, so ... I was just relaxing. I'm sorry if these are your lands, I did not mean to intrude."
Kiji's eyes stopped where he heard a shuffling sound- surprising himself by noticing it. He started when the goddess emerged from the trees, not looking too pleased to see him- not looking anything really. He offered her a friend smile, "Hello! You didn't scare me, just didn't realize someone was around. You're rather quiet when you aren't sneezing." The black and white lion was not sure if that would be a compliment, but it was the truth so he would stick with that.
He was a bit surprised to hear an apology come from her next, "These are not my lands, and if they were you would be more than welcome! I can't imagine trying to keep anyone away from the Jungle, or any part of it. Is this your first time here?" Kiji beamed, taking a seat to make himself more comfortable.
The lioness grinned, laughing slightly. She still felt funny being around one of them. She honestly felt a bad vibe from them all, most of the time. Although, that was usually because she had only even been to the desert, and that place was crawling with evil beings written all over it. "Ah, my brother always tells me I sneeze loudly, but thats probably because he has a strong dislike for my being. But, hey hes my older brother, always got to tease." She felt a slight sense of comfort, and decided to sit back down. Anyways, standing and hiding her wings just took too much energy for her at the moment, she was too tired. She didn't want to risk revealing herself ... just yet.
"Unfortunatly, yes it is. And probably my last. I have many travels to accomplish, many creatures to see." She looked towards the path nearby, smiling slightly. Although these lands were beautiful, she just ... preferred the clouds. She wasn't going to say she was going to the clouds, though. Instead, she just pointed towards a direction randomly.
Kijibwa listened carefully to the lioness' little story about her brother's opinion of her sneezing, and though he had no siblings himself he could agree with what she said about older brothers- or older siblings in general- based upon his own daughters. The girls generally got along well, but sisters have their moments! He was pleased to see her take a seat, glad she was comfortable enough to do so- though he had no idea what was taking her energy.
"That's too bad," Kiji commented when she said it was probably her last time in the Jungle, he'd always been fond of it himself and now he'd spent most of his life there, "I love it here, but I believe we are leaving soon as well. I don't know when, or if, we'll be coming back here though. You never know sometimes." His blue eyes followed her gaze to the path, and he just smiled. It would be nice to get going again, he knew that was part of why he'd finally brought it up with Siku. Suddenly, he started- realizing just how rude he was being.
"Oh! I'm sorry, my name is Kijibwa," he introduced himself with a grin, then watched her expectantly, waiting for her introduction.
"Yeah, this place is lovely, but the shade is ... too much for me. If I can't see the sky, I go insane." She nodded lightly, as she listed to what he said next. Sighing, she simply accepted his mistake. "No need to worry, Kijibwa. I ... don't really mind. It was also my fault. I have yet to announce my own. Although, its short, I don't really like it." She squinted her eyes, and then looked away. "My name is Kenzi ... ... " She yawned, letting loose a little. As she did so, her blue-toned wings appeared out of thin air, folding out, seeking for the light of day. She didn't notice them, she was too comfortable to give a damn for the time being.
"It means nothing. ... ... but, my mother was quite fond of the name." She rambled on, her wings unnoticed by her watch.
"Ah, then this is not a place for you," Kijibwa admitted when she declared what would happen to her mental state should she be shielded from she sky, and the trees here certainly did that. He beamed at her while she introduced herself, laughing a bit when she said her name after building it up to be something not so likable. "Kenzi, that's not a bad name at all," he argued with a grin- and then was startled to see blue wings appear out of nowhere. So startled was he, that he jumped up from a seated position.
"What the-?" he blinked, and leaned over to see if they were really attached to her as they seemed to be.
Kenzi sat idle for a moment, until Kijibwa pointed something out. Curious, she turned around. "Whats ... ... wrong?" Clueless, she looked back, spotting her large blue wings. Her jaw dropped. "... ... s**t, my covers blown." Snorting, she stood up and began padding farther away. She had revealed herself to a mortal! She went in too deep this time! Why did she even converse with the flawed thing?
"Damnit. A mortal has never seen my true form. I guess this was all ... my fault." She shrunk back behind a tree, sighing. "I'm ... not thinking straight." She shook her fur, and her wings disappeared in an instant. "Well, I guess I have ... ... no reason not to tell you. You saw me, fair and square." She paused, peeking out at the male.
Kijibwa stared at where her wings met her back, trying to figure out what was going on. He'd not heard many stories of gods, what was he supposed to think now? Maybe she was some weird.. half-lion half-bird with.. some way of hiding the giant blue wings coming from her back. She looked the part, but it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Neither birds nor lions could hide something that big that well, could they? Would it be too much to ask? The lion was at a loss for what to think until she suddenly announced that a mortal had never seen her true form.
He just stood there dumbly when she hid behind the tree again. So she was a not-mortal lion with wings..
"W-what?" he asked, still not sure what to say or to think, "Why do you have wings?"

"It's kind of hard to explain ... " The mutt-coloured lioness approached the male. Her collar jingled lightly as she came closer and closer. Sitting herself gently down, she yawned and released the hidden wings once more. They shined brightly in an array of blue and purple hues. Kenzi grinned and folded her wings behind her, as they rested upon her back. She took a deep breath, and then pondered what to even tell the lion.
"You see, my name is Kenzi and i'm a Goddess. Well, the Goddess of Obedience. I have wings because i'm a divine, immortal being. I help others with my godly-given powers, and much more. Like I said, its hard to explain." She smiled, her tail wagging lightly. "I have the appearance of a lion, but my markings are that of a canine. Which is why I also act similar to a dog, because dogs are obedient. Well, for the most part. Some aren't."
"I did have an owner before. As why I have a collar. My owner's name disappeared once he passed away. I don't really know why, though."

Kijibwa looked quite stunned as he stared at the goddess, and most particularly at the blue wings that seemed so very unnatural on her lion shape. He wasn't the brightest of lions, but he was willing to try to understand whatever it was she had to say about this.
When she admitted to being a goddess, though, he looked rather surprised. He didn't say anything, and let her explain. When she finished, he didn't quite understand but only had one thing to say.
"Why did you have an owner?" he asked, sounding totally dumbfounded at the idea, "Why would anyone want to own you? Who could even own a goddess?"

"Well, another thing hard to explain. My mind went black after my owner left me. Though, other Gods do have the ability to rule over me, which makes me weaker than other gods ..." She sighed, looking down towards the bottoms of trees. Being in the jungle, it was an interesting place. Kenzi folded her wings and yawned.
"Why would someone want to own me? Who else wouldn't want to own another god, to control them and have them loyal to them. Gods are powerful things, you know."

Kijibwa didn't seem to follow the logic entirely, and frowned when she said she was weaker than other gods. There was just something odd about one god being able to own another one, he supposed it must be something to do with obedience.
"Do you have any control over who owns you?" he asked, wondering if she had absolutely any say in the matter or if this was just how things were for her. It was odd to imagine her describing gods with so much power, but then present herself to be quite below that standard.

She frowned. "I do not. Sometimes I do, but it ... really depends on the God. Some are nicer than others. Though, its easy to convince even me, a Goddess. It probably has to do with my domain. ... its in my blood."
Though she wanted to stay around all day and ramble on with this lion, she was growing rather tired of his questions. She sighed, and looked up into the trees, in an attempt to view the sky. It was such a peaceful thing, just floating up there. The clouds were never ending with their beauty.
"So, what exactly are you doing out here, in this crazy place? You can't get a good look at the sky from here, and the trees make everything darker and more creepy. I see no logic to living here." She just wanted to get off the subject of her being a Goddess and all. The mortals just didn't know when to quit asking questions. It was rather annoying.

Though the concept of divine beings existing was new, the idea of their being a hierarchy amongst them wasn't unthinkable- especially when she said she was the goddess of obedience. When Kenzi started to ask him questions, he was able to tell she was aiming for a subject change and went along with it- he wasn't one to argue with normal lions, let alone someone like her.
"This is where I grew up," he said with a shrug, and took a look around with a fond smile on his face, "It's only dark at night, or when it's cloudy. It really is beautiful, and I've found it to be quite safe." After a short pause, he remembered quite suddenly that they were not planning to stick around much longer. They'd be back, though- or so he liked to think.

"Oh, you grew up here? Well, thats interesting, then. I'm just ... used to seeing the sky all the time. It seems dark in here to me. It may not to you, but it is to me. I guess thats because i've been around the skies my whole life, as the clouds." She smiled once more. It was good to change the subject, as she was kind of uncomfortable talking about her divine powers to such a mortal. The Gods would shun her for even conversing with one. Or, at least the ones she knew.
"I'm sorry, I just ... don't feel safe here. I like the open plains, the clear skies and stars. The galaxy above us all."

"I understand, it's quite the change from the savanna," he agreed quite readily, having been to and from the Pridelands before. Kijibwa knew well just how much of the sky there was to see if you were in the right places, but he'd always like the Jungle despite the ceiling of trees.
"You get used to living wherever you are, and this was a lovely step up from the desert," Kiji pointed out with a small smile, revealing another small fact about himself.

"Ah, yeah. The Desert is a tough place, and thats why the toughest live there. Though, I don't bother much with them. The Pridelands and the rouge lands show the skies at their finest, though." She nodded, shaking her fur randomly. All these trees were starting to make her feel uncomfortable. "Is there anyway to get out of here, besides ... walking all the way out the way I came? Can I cut through the trees?" She looked up, questioning herself.
Though, she'd hate to leave so soon, but ... she felt claustrophobic in the jungle.

Kijibwa only nodded when Kenzi mentioned the prides, the only two prides that he really knew about. He'd been very fond of the pridelanders, and had done his very best to avoid the desert-dwellers. Fortunately, he was successful in avoiding them.
"Leaving already?" he asked brightly, not intending to try to convince her to stay but rather making conversation while he continued. Looking up, he answered thoughtfully, "You should be able to get through.."

"Yes, I am sorry, Kijibwa -- but I must head out. The skies are calling my name." She extended her large, purple-toned wings and beated them with great strength. She lifted up towards the trees before hovering in the air for a moment. "Thanks a lot, good luck with your own travels, mortal!" She waved rapidly before taking off once more, and gracefully lifting through the treetops and into the sky.
She saw the clear, blue sky once more. It was a wonderful feeling, remeeting with an old friend of hers, one who always stayed by her side -- no matter the circumstances.

Kijibwa nodded to show he accepted that she must leave, having no intention what so ever of hindering her. He couldn't, however, stop himself from staring as she spread her wings and took off. It hardly even looked like it took effort to do, she was soon just above him and wishing him luck. Gods were truly fascinating. Little did Kijibwa know that his family would soon be joined by a divine tag-along.
"Goodbye!" he called after Kenzi when she took off and pushed her way through the canopy. Kiji stared after her even though he could no longer see her, even taking a moment to wonder if he had imagined the whole thing, before he headed back for his home.
