OH MY! We are not getting any torchwood this year according to an estimate by John Barrowman. Read the Article taken from Outpost Gallifrey Below. Why oh why did I decide to look for news!

Quote:
John Barrowman has revealed that he expects Season two of Torchwood to premier early in 2008.

Speaking on BBC Radio Two, where he was the stand in presenter for Elaine Paige, he told listeners that he will be recording Torchwood until November and the series will be shown in the New Year.

John also confirmed that he is at present filming Doctor Who. He describes the new series as fantastic and full of surprises with a spectacular season finale.

The programme also featured Neil Hannon's recording of Love Don't Roam

The programme is also available via the Radio 2 homepage for the next seven days. The Torchwood comments are about 50 minutes into the programme.

I was listening to that earlier, and I was kind of disappointed but I figured it will be worth waiting for. And then I spent five minutes convinicing my mum 'Love Don't Roam' is from Doctor Who.

When I spoke to Naoko yesterday, she said they aren't sure when they are going to Cardiff yet, but since they haven't said when she's leaving Avenue Q yet, it might not be for a couple of months.

I heard that yesterday too. Do you think that 2008 will start with Torchwood and then go to Doctor Who, or will they be running at the same time? Running them at the same time would be quite the double edged sword. Because seeing as Torchwood ran from October to December, that's three months, which would give them time to run it before Doctor Who, rather than at the same time. I dunno.

I think it will run like this. I believe the Year is split up in to four quarters. Jan-March, April-June, July-september, October-December.

Doctor Who is to air this year in March, so I would assume that Torchwood would air earlier, in January, although I would think there would be some crossover, unless they air Doctor Who in April.

eek

What?

eek eek

No Torchwood in 2007 ??

eek *faints*
I know it'd be worth the wait...but...how can they leave a show for an entire year without a season? They started last year in what, September? Why not the same time this year?

In other delightful news;
Quote:
No Torchwood down under?
Despite earlier media reports to the contrary, the Australian TV Week magazine mentions in its latest edition that both public broadcasters, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) have passed on Torchwood. There is no indication that any of the Australian commercial broadcasters will pick up the show.

The ABC is expected to screen the third series of Doctor Who from mid-year but this is still subject to official confirmation.

So us Aussies aren't going to be getting it...though SBS would be all over the opportunity to get into the Whoniverse, considering how well ABC does with Doctor Who.
Oh well - thank god for torrents.

But you just no that the sarah jane adventures are aimed at kids so there'lll be no blood, sex, or unhappy endins coz kids dunt like it!

it will be a bit more predictable and all the good guys will allways live happily ever after! I think it will be on bbc one after school either just before the summer or september!

can't wait for torchwood. the way i deal wid it is i do full days of watchin torchwood then that nite i dream im in a torchwood episode then i rite a script. sounds completely insane but it seriously enhances your english skills, coz i analyse the structure of the show and the themes to work out the exact style then i replicate it. Which is really kl when you do it.

I'm sorry, that just seems like a bit of an oxymoron. You write scripts to enhance your english skills, yet type like that? It just doesn't compute.

SJA will have a cynical side I think, when I was a kid, I hated that the good guy always won, I think Russel will give us what we want, where they wont always win, much like in Doctor Who how he keeps "beating" the Daleks yet they keep coming back.

In a recent interview with The Stage, Julie Gardner confirms that series two of Torchwood, set to begin filming on Monday April 30th, will be returning to screens on BBC2 in January 2008.
"Last year, we started filming in March and we were on air with 13 episodes from late September, which was just so, so hectic. And we didn’t really have enough time – it was absolutely frantic from day one of prep, it was all hands on deck.

And so, it just works for the BBC2 schedule that we can go in January. So it’ll just give us a little bit more time in our post-production. Which would be lovely, because we were delivering an episode every single week for transmission. It was incredibly tight. So it was just as well we didn’t have any last-minute technical difficulties last year!"
