Annea hadn't been out in the Soquili forest for a long while, she'd kept herself from others and only liked to be about the Unicorn waterfall. But in this fresh early morning, she had decided otherwise. It was time to go out and meet others! Who knows, maybe she would meet other unicorns that aren't around the waterfall? It's happened before, even though it was very rare. The beautiful mare made her way through a few trees, looking around for anything interesting to do. Her attention was caught when a soft water noise came to her ears. A river perhaps? Rivers and lakes were perfect places to meet other soquilis, because everyone needed refreshing water at some point. To that she trotted toward the sound and slowed down as she reached the river.
It's side were slightly frozen due to the chilly weather, but not thick enough to support anything as big as a soquili. Annea leaned her front hooves on the edge of the river and reached for a quick drink. The water was very cold, therefore it was a little harder to drink quickly. She didn't want to freeze her tongue. A soft breeze blew through her long hair as she looked up and around for anyone that could be about.

Down the partly frozen river, a sunlit stallion was walking upstream. Taiyaung wondered what this new, brisk, morning would bring. Who, or what, would he meet? Although Tai had been in the Soquili lands for nearly a moon, he still hadn't met too many others. It's probably due to the cooler weather, the golden stallion noted. Not too many would be out. Thankfully, however, Spring woule be just a few weeks away. Even now, the sky was littered with rays of delicious sunshine.
One wrong step, and oops! Taiyaung had slid on the river's frozen end, tumbling horn first into the river's body. Quickly, Taiyaung scrambled out onto the bank, shivering. Quickly giving himself a look-over, Tai decided that there was no frozen clumps of his fur. He then looked around, hoping nobody had seen his embarressing tumble. His eyes met those of a white and pink unicorn, and his cheeks blushed a pink tint. "Ah, did I get you wet, m'lady?"

Annea's blue eyes landed on a radiant stallion. His coat was bright yellow with various white designs. It was the first time she saw one like her to be so colorful and he was a unicorn, which made it to be even better! She smiled sweetly and opened her mouth to greet him, but quickly he stumbled into the river as he missed his step foward. The young, white mare stepped back in surprised and giggled lightly. A clumpsy unicorn perhaps? Or at least just a little. This could turn out to be very amusing. She walked back closer to the edge of the river, and smiled to over at him on the other side. The river wasn't very large around the area where they were, therefore it would make it much easier to get to the other side. If only she could brave herself into the cold water.
Her cheeks turned of a light pink as he spoke to her. M'lady? No one had ever call her like that. It was rather... flattering! She tried to brush to brush it away and beamed a lovely smile once more. "Not a single drop reached me. But are you alright? You didn't hurt yourself I hope..." she said with her soft voice.

Tai chuckled heartily, grinning a smile that shouted, I'm clumsy, and proud! "Thank goodness, then. It wouldn't do any good to have two wet Soquili, now would it?" He winked, shaking himself dry. Taiyaung took a good look at the mare before him. She was also a unicorn, making her the first of his kind that Tai had met. Her horn was a glimmering gold, brighter and lighter than Tai's own. It's sudden brightness seemed slightly out of place with the mare's soft, pastel colors, but nevertheless, she was still stunning.
Following the mare's gaze to the river, Tai saved her the trouble of crossing by crossing himself. After all, he was the gentlemen. Careful not to get the mare wet, Tai shook himself dry before saying, "Taiyaung, pleased to meet you, m'lady."

She blinked lightly in surprise, seeing the male cross the river to come to her side. Annea was actually planning to do that herself, but she found that rather charming of him to do this, so that she wasn't the one getting wet. After all, he had been the one falling in the water in the first place. She smiled softly as he got closer and she gently bowed her head. "All the pleasure is mine!" she said. "My name's Annea. Good to meet you Taiyaung." she added with another soft smile. To her it was slightly awkward he called her m'lady, but she decided to shrug it off and not pay attention to it, she'll get used at some point in time... hopefully.
"So what would a bright stallion like you doing around this area?" she asked. "I was slightly surprised to see you here a little earlier, there's never any unicorn around this river." she explained. Her blue eyes gazed over to meet his, waiting for a respond.

Tai dipped his head in answer. "Annea, please call me Tai." A light, smile tinted his cheeks as he answered, "Well, I'm afraid that I haven't been to this river before, so I was just scouting the area. What about you, m'lady? I haven't seen you around before, either." His own eyes met the mare's questionly, but only with a kind curiousity. He had never met another unicorn before, and was with no doubt pleased to meet another of his own kind. Sighing softly, he added, "There doesn't seem to be much of us unicorns, are there? It's quite a pity, really...." His voice trailed off, a lingering longing filling the space.

The mare smiled softly with a whisper, "Tai. Okay!" as if talking to herself, making a note to remember that. The soft breeze brushed along her coat and blew her hair around her. "I try to come about the river more often now that the weather is slowly getting warmer." she said. Her blue eyes gazed upon the stallion and her cheeks blushed lightly as she realized what she was doing. She was never captivated by another soquili before. There was something about that made her want to look at him for hours on end. Perhaps his special designs and bright colors. She smiled lightly to herself and looked down at her front hooves. Then she looked back up as he spoke again. "Ah, yes. There are very few unicorns that come around here. I haven't quite figured out why though..." she replied.

Tai shifted slightly under the mare's gaze, an image of his childhood flashing into his mind. He had been the only bright and "unnatural" colored Soquili in his old herd...Wincing, Tai tried his best to banish his past into the past. The memory was so vivid; Tai could hear the taunts of "outcast" echoing in the background. Shaking his head, Tai was about to open his mouth and scream "No!" when he realized where he was. Turning to Annea, with his cheeks tinged pick, he mumbled, "Forgive me, m'lady...some things are hard to leave behind."

Annea observed Tai as he seemed to get lost in his thoughts. She smiled lightly to herself, curiously wondering what he could be thinking of. Though it rather seemed to be more painful then anything else, judging by the expression on his face. She was about to say something when he shook his head and looked back at her. The young mare smiled softly. "I understand." she nodded. "Someone's past is often something very important. As painful as it may be, it'll always end up being part of yourself."
Her blue eyes gazed up over at him once more. "But you can work on a brighter future. It'll help you feel better about those painful events..."

Tai smiled what he hoped was a convincing grin. "Of course. When you fall, you just get back up," unless you broke your leg. Tai sighed. He wasn't normally one to be pestimistic. "And," he continued, "The past is unchangeable, so I should probably just move on with my life." Tai said those words to convince himself as much as anybody else. He knew he shouldn't dwell on the past, but somehow, he just couldn't break free.
