Rain Curl walked slowly towards the stream, her hooves stepped lightly on the dew tinted grass with every step she took. It was early morning, the sun wasn't at bright as it would be. Her owner was busy doing everyday neccessaties and so the mare had decided to leave for a few hours.
She stared down in the water, bowing her head to take a drink. Her colourful mane fell forward, the ends brushing the water. Light chirping sounds of crickets filled her ears, time to time a splash in the water caused the Soquili to freeze up and look around with wary purple eyes. Seeing nothing she calmed down, continuing to drink from the stream.
She thought she heard a rustling nearby but she pushed that thought out of her mind. It was just her imagination, there was nothing there. But what if there was something out there? The Soquili moved her head upwards and away from the stream. Surveying around with her eyes she still saw nothing. I need to stop being so frightened when there's nothing to even be scared of.

Charlamagne trotted not too far from her clearing home, to find a stream. Her sea green eyes glanced into the clear water, spotting the silohuette of a fish swimming in it. She giggled as it quickly flicked away before deciding to follow it downstream.
As she followed the stream, she glanced around in the directions she heard a few pleasing sounds. She glanced to the chirpings of the crickets and even the faint sounds of some early birds starting to wake up. She smiled warmly, her tail flicking behind her.
Getting further along the stream, she noticed a tall figure drinking from the stream before looking up as if something startled her. With a curious tilt of her head, the small mare slowly walked closer to the other.

Rain Curl shook her head, her mane fluttering behind her. Sometimes she really disliked straying from her home, she felt unprotected. She never learnt how to defend herself and even if she did know how she could never hurt another, that would leave her feeling horrible about it.
Nothing still, nothing at all. Good. The mare turned around, deciding to go in an opposite direction and that's when she saw something. This 'something' was just like her, a horse. She had never met another horse before and seeing one now made her feel nervous.
She had to stay calm or at least look calm. Her heart raced in fear while on the outside Rain Curl smiled gently at the other. "Hello." She spoke with no stutters though her voice sounded strange to her. Well no matter, at least her words didn't get jumbled up even if her voice went high.

Getting closer, she noticed that the other was a horse, a mare to be exact. This caused her stomach to start turning in knots as she approached. She hoped she didn't say or do anything stupid, never really knowing what to do when meeting new soquili.
When the other mare greeted her, she bowed her head in greeting with a small smile. "Hello." She replied, still walking a bit closer until they were about a little more than a foot or two apart.

Rain Curl froze in fear when the other came closer though she knew that the mare would need to come closer if they were to converse. That didn't stop the fears from happening though.
She smiled at the mare, hoping that she wouldn't run away in fear. She wanted to run ut she couldn't, she needed to know more about her kind. That was one of the only things keeping her rooted to the spot.
"What are you called by?"

The spotted mare couldn't help but bring a hoof up to take a step back when the other froze. She hoped inwardly that she wasn't doing something wrong by being here. Despite her nervousness, she kept the smile on her face. At the other's question, she tilted her head just slightly before replying. "Oh... my name is Charlamagne, and yours?"

Rain Curl eyed the hoof slowly, her heart raced faster. Was the other mare going to attack? It didn't look like it though but then again she had never met another horse either so she wasn't sure. She kept those feelings to herself, hoping that her fears wouldn't show on her face.
"Rain Curl." She replied softly. "Do you see other horses often? I've never met another before, well until now."

Why was this other mare so nervous? Was she doing something wrong? Charlamagne didn't think that she was scaring her... she wasn't too intimidating, unless it was her spots. Whatever it was, it made her nervous as well, placing her hoof back down slowly.
"It's nice to meet you Rain Curl. Other horses? Yeah, I've met a few... all stallions though. To be honest, you're the first mare I've met." She told her, giggling softly, hoping to leviate the mood.

She supposed there was something about this mare that calmed her down, she smiled in response to the giggling. But who could blame her for being nervous? She never met another before and seeing one for the first time......Rain Curl shook those thoughts out of her mind.
"Stallions. I must say I do not think I could deal well with a stallion. They would make me more nervous than I am at this moment." Rain Curl murmured shyly, thinking of stallions and not knowing how they might be like.
"First mare you say." She smiled again at that, her heart was slowly beginning to stop pounding through her chest.

Charlamagne began to calm down as Rain Curl, too, began to calm down. She was still curious as to why she was nervous in the first place, but she had a small idea as to why.
With a shrug, the small mare replied. "Stallions aren't as bad as one might think. I guess it depends on the stallion one meets... I'm sure that not all of them are as nice as the ones I've met." When the other mare repeated her first mare statement, she nodded, getting an awkwardly embarrassed look on her face. "Yeah. I don't know if it's my luck or something... but so far, I've only ran into stallions."

She laughed at Charlamagne's obvious embarassment, the mood was less tense now to her and she could not feel her worries from before much anymore.
"Well I do suppose stallions are alright then. It just...depends, like with mares, there are ones who are kind and others......." She trailed off. Her eyes caught the sight of a frog on a leaf pad on the water, she watched as it jumped from pad to pad before giving a big leap into the water. If only she was small, she could of been able to do that. Well maybe.
Rain Curl sighed, after meeting another finally she still felt a tad shy at asking questions. She shouldn't though, this mare seemed trustworthy and kind, what was the worse that could happen? She frowned a little before asking the first thing that popped up in her head.
"Do you know where good berries grow? My two-legger tends to find some in shrubs but she always seems......unhappy at the taste of them."

The laughing didn't make her embarrassment go away, but it didn't make her feel bad though.
The small mare nodded in agreeance of what Rain Curl was saying, but blinked when she trailed off. Tilting her head just slightly, her green eyes followed the other's gaze, just in time to see a frog jump into the water. A giggle escaped from her, quite tempted to offer to play in the water, but it was temporarily put on hold at the question.
"Berries? Hmm... I believe there's a few bushes in the forest." She replied, still smiling.

"May you show me where they are?" Rain Curl asked, tilting her head slightly. She started to walk towards the inward part of the forest, before stopping and looking back at the stream and Charlamagne. The water was so nice, cool and calm. She shook her head.
"Are you coming?"

"Yes, of course." The small mare replied with a warm smile. She turned to follow after the other, but paused when she stopped and looked back. Her own gaze went back to the stream, it remaining there until she had asked if she was coming.
Charlamagne remained silent for a moment before taking a step. But rather in the direction of the forest, she had turned and bounded into the stream, giggling as she started to splash about.

She had turned away but hearing the splash she blinked and turned around. She watched with wide eyes as she saw Charlamagne bound into the stream. The mare blinked again, as she watched the other enjoying herself.
Well that did look fun.....she never pranced about in a stream before, like a foal. Sure she had been in streams before but usually she had went slowly in them. Rain Curl moved closer to the stream, it did look fun but she couldn't. Well she could but....she eyed the stream thoughtfully.
