sweatdrop I tried to make a cake. Emphasis on try. I used a recipe from Shini Neko Ni. Its simple. Quote: 2/3 cup butter 1 3/4 cups sugar 2 eggs 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla 3 cups flour 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups milk (approximate amount)
Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Mix butter& sugar until fluffy. Add eggs& vanilla. Add flour, little by little. Add baking powder& salt. Add milk, little by little until consistency is right. Pour in a 9x13 or cupcake pan, lightly greased/sprayed& floured. Bake for 30-33 minutes or until toothpick inserted into middle comes out clean. How simple is that? Obviously not simple enough. I guess I overfilled the pans a bit. I doubled the recipe. Put the pans in the oven.....Few minutes later, I smell the vanila. "Rawk on!" I thought. I was making a good cake. WRONG. Few more minutes later.... I smell something burning. I open the oven. WOOOOSH!!!! smoke comes billowing out of the oven. The pans overflowed and there were little bits of FLAMING PIECES OF CAKE on the bottom of my oven. I grabbed the baking soda, put it out, turned down the temperature and they are now finishing up at a cooler 325. DISCUSSION!: Cooking gone wrong. NOW WITH PICTURES!!!!

I tried to make general tsao's chicken before. All was well till I put olive oil in the wok, not realizing that putting anything other than the designated oil would ignite the wok into a huge bowl of fire..
We went out to eat that night.

-has now composed herself-
Don't feel bad. One time, I was grilling, and it was my uncle's grill, and I was used to propane and he had charcoal. Well, I was talking to someone else and not paying attention as I put some lighter fluid on the charcoal... I must've put a lot, because I walked away to get a drink and my mom decided to take over the lighting... in time to get a fireball whooshing out of the grill as the match hit the lighter fluid.
She didn't have eyebrows for a month.
