Kimaria
He raised his heavy head and shook the thick mane, shedding it of dust from where he had been rolling to rid himself of some prickly plant that had caught in his fur.

The day was cool, with a cold wind bringing with it a sense of calm. It also seemed to whistle with a song, with words the promised change. What this change could be the young adult did not know but he didn't care right now.

He had made two wonderful friends and no longer did he feel alone. In fact he might dare to say he was happy.

He padded down to the mountain paths where he had first arrived, glancing out across the vast stretch of open land. He briefly wondered where Pona was. The little cub was surely around somewhere and yet he hadn't seen her in so long.

Remove
Tailsin wasn't as happy as she had been when she had arrived. Her family wasn't here, they were all dead and had been for a long time. It seemed everything that she had hoped for had gone dramatically wrong. Her family was dead which could also mean Yua's sister was dead and how was she going to let Yua know?

She had gone to get some time on her own, things had just been so wrong and it seemed the pride she could remember didn't exist and finding other lions could be hard. She had met Adi at least.

Was she the only one left from her clan? Oh how depressing that would be.

She found a large rock that she jumped on to curl up on. Things just weren't right here and she had a lot to think about.

Kimaria
His nose flared and an unusually familiar scent caught at it. A scent that wasn't Reh's and wasn't Malik's. He gave a curious tilt of his head and flicked his tail slowly, rising up onto all fours to gaze around.

His mind listed through all the lions he had met and yet of all those he had talked with recently none fitted.

He lowered his head and gave a low grunt, squinting against the sun's rays to try and catch sight of the familiar stranger.

Remove
Tailsin looked up at the sound of another lion. She didn't recognize him however he looked vaguely familiar but that could have been from anything. She had seen a lot of rogues in her time.

She didn't say anything to him, just watched. She wasn't in any mood to talk to anyone especially not a lion that looked as happy as he did, it was just depressing!

"Stupid lions..." She muttered to herself before resting her head on her paws, her eyes on the brown lion still.

Kimaria
Ona swallowed nervously as his eyes finally fell upon the shape of a dark lioness. Slowly he backed up a few steps and sat down heavily, leaning his back against the side of a tree as he cast his gaze elsewhere.

Again he racked his brains but found nothing.

A flash of home appeared in his mind's eye. The beautiful land where he had been raised. A shadow fell upon the land and faded from sight and his memories burned.

The smile stiffened a little as he tried to forget about the pain. If he didnt think about it then life could be good. Life could be perfect.

He turned his head back to gaze at the lioness, she had not moved but she did not look happy and Ona'raha's shyness returned to him. What if she was an outsider? A survive of the Darkfire? Fear gripped him and he wished he were smaller so that he could hide in the grass.

Tailsin smiled as she watched him. It seemed to be an odd little thing, the two watching each other but yet not saying a word. It was something that Tailsin couldn't stand no matter what mood she was in. Awkward silences were not good.

"Who are you? I am Tailsin'Kivuli Kidudusi of the Shadow Clan... or was anyway." She thought she might as well introduce herself, it would break the silence at least and she might hear something that might have a chance of cheering her up though it seemed unlikely.

Kimaria
As she approached his whole body tensed and his front paws shook. It seemed all his confidence had elapsed when he was by himself and facing a stranger. His glassy blue eyes - the eyes of his dearly departed mother - widened in fear and his head and ears drooped visibly.

He was a little male after all and the tattoos on this other's pelt were so dark he did not first acknowledge them.

His eyes squeezed closed as she spoke but flashed open again as she introduced herself.

He knew that name!

"Tailsin'Kivuli Kidudusi?" His ears perked a little. "I am Ona'raha Subiani, son of A'kiuti Subiani and Fa'moyo Abadan." He paused and stood, meeting her eyes with a gaze that looked content.

"I too am of the Shadow Clan." In her face he saw home.

She was a little freaked out by the way that he reacted to her but then as he obviously recognized her name, she recognized his.

"Ona?"

No. It couldn't be.

She just looked at him even more and in his eyes she watched memories being replayed.

"We use to play together." She chuckled a little, more out of surprise and relief then anything else.

"I'm not alone after all!" She was happy in a flash. She had lost her family but a friend... an old but good friend was still around. How did she not recognize him? Oh yeah that was easy.

"You are so big and fluffy." She chuckled a little.

Kimaria
He nodded, glad to see recognition in her eyes. He saw it now. He saw them playing, the fun, the games. He would tell stories, for he had always done so and they had been so fun-loving and care-free.

It seemed an age since he had been a cub.

Far, far too long since he had even thought back to his days of childhood. "Fluffy?" He tilted his head and then laughed, nodding slowly. "You got big too! Have you...just arrived here?"

Remove
She smiled, oh it was so good to see a friend again.

"Oh yes. I arrived a day or two ago. I met another lion, younger then us, he told me of the plague and other things. I thought I was alone. It has taken me so long to find this place. Serves me right for running off when I was younger." She chuckled a little though she wasn't really feeling happy. If she hadn't ran off she could have spent more time with her family.

"What have you been upto then? Its been such a long time." She forced a smile on her face and sat down in front of him. They had alot to catch up on.

Kimaria
She had run away? He smiled sadly and moved to nuzzle her gently. "If you had not run away you might not have been alive now."

Then he moved back and flicked his ears, moving to stride across the grass. "Many things have happened since we were last together. I lost my parents to the plague, my best friend too. Then I was guided through the mountains by a golden bird." He smiled, wondering where Kucha was. "Then I found my way here. There are others here you know. Others from different clans."

He looked fondly at her. "I am glad you found your way. Tell me...is the outside lands as scary as I've heard?"

Remove
Tailsin was a little shocked by what he said but it made sense though. The plague could have killed her. Everything she said was interesting in some way or another.

"The lands aren't scary if you are with someone but they are if you are alone. Its big out there. I needed someone to help me come here and he was an Ela. He didn't say much about himself but he didn't want to come back." It was a shame it would have been nice to have him here at the moment.

Kimaria
He nodded in agreement. The world did seem a lot less scary when you were with someone. He knew though, that he would never leave the lands, not now when he had finally found them.

Home. He was home.

"I suppose some like the big outside world. Me, I prefer being secluded in a small, comfortable place. I'd much rather keep my back on the outside." He agreed.

"I can't believe it Tailsin, I truly can't. I never thought I'd see any of the Shadow Clan ever again and yet here you are. Your presence warms my heart." He glanced towards her. "A miracle."

She nodded. Home was home. He had helped her answer the question inside about whether she would stay. If she was allowed, she wouldn't be going anywhere. She had a friend now.

"A miracle doesn't quite fit it. I am so glad that you are here. It makes things so much better and easier to understand. Would you mind showing me around?" She could ask.

Miracles or not he was glad that he had gotten to see her again. A memory from the past become solid before his very eyes. Again he buffeted his fuzzy head gently against her shoulder and with a nod quickened his pace, trotting along the flat ground happily.

She'd have to meet Reh and Mailk sometime!

"I will show you all the best places Tailsin! Where I hunt, where the dens can be found, where the coolest water is. The sunning rocks too. Don't worry about that."

He paused and gazed at her. "What do you want to see first?"

She couldn't help but laugh, oh it was so good to be home again!

"Anywhere that is interesting, you can choose!" She smiled sweetly, feeling more like a cub now then she probably did when she was one all that time ago.

"So Ona, you managed to find a mate yet? Or are there really not many left here.. I haven't actually seen another female nor smelt one since I got here!" She found this disturbing as she loved to be around other girls, not that she didn't mind boys but girl time was always important!

"Okay!" He smiled,"I'll take you down to the stream, it looks beautiful at this time of day." They trotted along in companionable silence for a moment, which was broken by her next question.

The lion blushed and shook his head. "Oh no! I couldn't find a mate. I mean I don't have anything to offer a girl!" He thought to Reh and his heart almost shattered. It was true. He was a terrible hunter, not at all strong and the only thing he was good at was telling stories.

He turned to her. "There are other girls. I have met a couple. But you're right, there aren't many."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 17, 2007 4:35 am

She chuckled, "Well what don't you have to offer a girl? Maybe I could help make you more girl worthy?" She laughed, she was so happy and thought that helping him find a girl would be a great thing to do to pass time, after all, she wanted to be aunt Tailsin at some point, however he could learn that bit later.

"There are other girls? Good even more reason for me to help make you girl worthy!" She smiled widely and looked around, the stream would probably look beautiful as he said and would work as a mirror so she could help make him look more presentable though she doubted that is what he meant about offering things to females. Either way she would help if he would let her.

He continued to blush beneath his fur, but Tailsin's good nature was beginning to make him feel more comfortable around such a topic. He shook his head and laughed. "Oh Tailsin! As long as I have friends, Idon't need a girl!"

He beamed, "if we come across other girls then I'll introduce you!" He knew atleast four that resided in the lands.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 17, 2007 4:52 am

She shook her head. "Of course you need a girl!" nudged him playfully and laughed again. "I hope we come across someone whether they are female or not. I can't wait to make more friends." She smiled happily contented.

"How far till we get to the stream?" She was curious, she could do with a drink. "I also want to meet your friends especially the female ones." She laughed again, she wanted to wind him up about girls as it seemed that it wasn't something he was exactly comfortable with.

He blushed and said nothing more on the matter, quickening his pace to run a short length across the expanse of grass. The land dipped suddenly and revealed to them a snaking little stream dotted with rocks that churned the water into a pearly froth.

He paused and glanced down at it, breathing in the scent of water and shaking his mane. "The stream." He announced cheerfully. "It winds down from the mountains and into our territory. I've never tasted water more pure!"

He started down the ledge, moving his stocky build carefully before coming to a halt by it's edge, pausing to lap thirstily.

She laughed as he said nothing and continued to follow Ona around untill she saw the stream.

"Oh it is so beautiful!" She smiled and followed him to the edge where she lowered her head to lap up some of the cool water. It was as pure and fresh as he had said and she couldn't help but lap up as much as she could handle.

"It really is beautiful here!" She continued to smile as she sat down and looked to the sky, wondering what Yua was up to. She wished somewhat that he would have stayed with her, he had been such a good friend and she would probably never see him again.

He nodded and turned to gaze at her, smiling as if he had no worry in he world. "It is beautiful. It was made for us to live in. It is out future." He smiled softly and looked to the sky, wondering if his mother and father could see him now.

"Tailsin..." He turned to gaze into her eyes, "your family...have you seen any of them yet?" He didn't like to ask, but he wanted to know. Wanted to know if any more of his Clan had survived.

She nodded at his statement but was a little taken a back by his question. She let out a small sigh and shook her head.

"Adi told me about the plauge. He mentioned that many didn't make it here and some that did still died. The chance of my brother or parents being alive seems too slim for me to even hope." She tried not to sound too sad about it.

"Its fine though, my friends here can be my family, as long as I have them things should be ok." She spoke the truth, her friends would be her family.

He didn't know this Adi but he decided to ask about this one later. Instead he moved closer and gave his old friend a comforting paw. "Do not worry Tailsin. They are still with you as my family are. I never had siblings as you did but I had parents and friends."

He glanced up to the sky. "Their spirits are here Tailsin...they guided you home as they did with me. We will see them again." These were the thoughts that had ended his grief and now as he glanced up into the clouds he favoured he saw the faces of his parents.

"And as for friends. You'll always have me."
