Aque
Home: Palus
Personality: He hates his human, and does everything in his power to scare and torture her. He hates her humanity and the love that this thriving in her heart, but lives off the fear she has for her memories.
Background Info: None knownHumans name: Nina
Age: 20
History: Around the time when Nina was 10, her family went on a trip to country; they stayed at a nice family resort with a lake for people to swim. The entire holiday was like a dream, it was absolutely perfect. Their last say there, her mother, brother, and herself were sitting on the lakes edge making sand castles, while her father went back and forth doing laps around the lake. It happened so fast, one minute he was swimming with not a care in the a world, the next time she looked back up at him, his hands we flaying in the air as he sought to fought to stay afloat. It was only a few seconds later when she watched her own father take his last breath of air. By the time the medics had gotten there, it was already too late.
It was weeks later when they finally brought his body back from the lake. Half eaten and decomposing, the body had drifted to the deepest part of the lake and was snagged on the weeds at the bottom. She wasn’t told any of this of course, but her mother had a bad habit of leaving newspaper clippings in the top drawer of her dresser. Only a couple months later, her and her family had to move because of lack of money, her stay home mother could never make enough to stay in the big city by herself with 2 children, so they moved to the country, where things were cheaper and life was much easier. Though the memory of her father’s death, still lingered in her mind.
As the years went by her fear eventually started to subside. She was 16, and on her father’s birthday, her mother had called for a sitting dinner at home, which was strange considering she always tried to forget the day by working double shifts. Nina finished watching her Sunday night shows and headed up the stairs to her room. When passing her mothers room she stopped to say goodnight, only to get no response. She peered in suspiciously and still, she was no where to be found. She slowly crept in the sound of water running alerted her in the direction of the bathroom, finding the bathroom door cracked open, and what seemed to be candles burning. She smiled and shook her head. “How stupid was she acting, she didn’t hear her because the water was running” she reached for the door handle and pushed it open. Nina couldn’t move, her legs were glued to the floor as her mind started racing. The red water poured out of the tub like a waterfall as she still tried to catch her breath, it was a dream, it had to be, and her mother would never leave her like this, alone. And yet, there she was, lying in the tub filled of blood stained water. The trauma was too much for her mentally and emotionally, and she collapsed to the tile floor.
Personality/Update: Now a days Nina hides her emotions, in the fear someone else she cares about will disappear. Having full cusitdy of her younger brother Todd(14) she does her best for him by being both his sister, and mother. College by day and working at night she barely gets time to herself, and sleep is precious, however small the length of slumber is. Nina is considered old for her age, but considering her childhood, how wouldn't be overly mature.

The First Encounter Nina readied herself for bed, grabbing the water by her sidetable she tossed the sleeping pills in her mouth and gulped it down with a slip of water. Placing the glass back down on the counter she crawled into her large bed, closed her eyes, and waited for sleep to take her.
Nina awoke from her dream a bit dazed and dehydrated, her forehead was covered in a warm sweat. Stareing off into the distance, she clutched her stuffed bear to her chest. She always hated remembering the day of her mothers death, it always raddled something inside her. Turning over on her side she eyed the glass of water of her nightstand.
"Afraid, arn't you?" a voice said, calling from the darkness. Searching the room with her eyes, she saw nothing but her furniture, everything was in it's place, and nothing else was here. And yet something caused the hairs on the back of her neck to rise on end. The glass beside her started to shake, spilling water on the small table and the bed sheet. Nina inched away, but her eyes frozen on the phenomenon.
The hint of lake water filled the air in the room. The thickness of it made her weeze as it seeped down her throat. In seconds the glass tipped, shattering the edges and spilling the water everywhere. "What would you do if the room filled up with water.?" The voice spoke again. The thick masculane accent seemed to rumble throughout the room.
She shrieked. "Who are you? Just leave me alone!" she cried, clutching the bear even tighter to her chest. The voice laughed evily as it seemed to cross pathes with her making her hair sweep out of her face. "I will for now, but I'll be back."
And with those words spoken, the smell slowly disipated. Nina curled up closer to her head board and rested her head gently against it, still clutching the bear tightly she rubbed her face in it's fur for comfort and to wipe away the few tears that streamed down her pale cheeks. From the dim light that was shown on her walls, the sun was due to rise soon. And it was clear she wasn't about to get a wink of sleep.

The Second Encounter For the next couple of nights nothing happened, everything was as it was before. But not tonight. Nina spent most of it tossing and turning in her sleep, she was never one to continuouly move during the night, so something was off. Something that she was dreaming about that bothered her.
She swung her head from side to side, struggling against and unknown attacker. "Mother..." she whispered longingly, as a small bead of sweat slide down the side of her brow. "Momma, why?" She jolted awake from her dream and brought her palm up to face to rub her eyes. It was another dream about her mothers death, and they seemed to be getting more frequent.
Wipping her forehead with the sleeve of her shirt she hugged her knees to her chest and rocked herself gently. " Why do i keep remembering? Why?" she asked herself as she began to weep.
A voice, like the one she had heard the other night spoke out to her. "Because I, Aque, wish you to."
Nina shuttered as a chill ran down her spine "Aque?" she pondered "Who the hell is that? Better yet, what the hell is it?"
The voice answered as if it knew the thoughts that went through her mind. But she wasn't stupid, she knew it did know everything. "I am your worst nightmare, girl."
Nina was might have been older in years, but her thoughts were still of a child. Her mind went back to the day at the lake, and the one of her mothers death, and it made her uneasy, frantic. She grabbed a pillow from her bed and ran for the door, only to learn that the door wasn't about to open. Not now, Not yet.
She stood at the door pulling as hard as she could, but the door still didn't budge. Water started seeping from the otherside of the doorknob but she didn't notice until the ice cold liquid touched her skin, and when it did, she fled from it as if it were acid, rubbing at her skin with her blanket until the the top of her skin was red and raw.
"Afraid of a little water?" The voice was deep and very heavy as it spoke in the most threatening tone.
Hopping off the bed, Nina ran back to the door and opened it with ease. She ran down the hall to her little bothers room where she paused. She didn't want to wake him, she wasn't sure if whatever it was would follow her, but right now she didn't want to be alone, she couldn't be. Opening the door she stepped in and grabbed an extra blanket from the foot of his bed and curled up on the floor next to his bed.

The Third Encounter Nina had just gotten home from work, she was alone in her spacious living room seeing as her little brother had gone to his room to sleep. Her legs almost immediatly started giving way as she approached the couch, but she waited until she could flop down on her bed. She was so exhusted, her eyesight was strained just trying to keep her eyes open.
When she got to her room, she dressed in a flowy night gown and plopped onto the bed. Curling up in beneath her covers she settled in, her eyelids slowly closing themselves. And in the corner of her eye she saw something glowing.
She literally jumped back, her heart raced as the glowing object hoovered above her dresser. "Yes, I'm back for you Nina." The voice said, the same voice she had heard all those other times. She began thinking if she really had been going crazy. And with that thought she winced.
"What do you need with me? Why don't you go bother someone else and leave me alone?" Her voice echoed the room and seemed to go down the hall.

Continuation The shadowy glowing orb moved closer. "Shhh... wouldn't want to wake your brother now, and bring him into all this, would you?"
It's very voice threatened and alarmed her.She would never wanted Todd to feel the way she felt. He was young when their mother died and he could bearly recall his father.
"Leave him out of this! He didn't do anything to you." Nina shouted, not realizing how loud she had spoken. "Thinking about it, I never did anything to you. So why are you here?"
The orb itself grew slightly larger and brighter, as if it were angry at the thought of her questioning him. "And what do you plan on doing if I don't tell you Nina? Kill me...? Please..." It inched closer to the bed. "Eh, i guess I'll tell anyway. I want to see you suffer, beg, I want to see your tears streaming down youe cheeks, and see you squirm in fear."
His voice made her body quake and fall back to the bed on her butt. She realized in that moment, that none of this was going to stop, it was something she'd have to live with and she'd be powerless against it.
The orb stopped almost directly infront of her, face-to-face as if it were staring straight at her. The uneasy feeling her gut made her queasey. "Don't worry, I wont get him into this until you make me."
Laughing evily, the ghostly invader drifted back slightly and semmed to look over his options. In an instant it came at her and dissapeared almost instantly. Her body began burning with an unknown hatred and it frightened her, Though in seconds it was gone along with the weird sense she got whever the entity was around. She was alone. Sitting up in her bed, she looked at the reflection of herself in the mirror.
Sighing heavily she laid back in bed and covered herself, tring to calm her frantic emotions. Though that feeling of pure hate she got before that entity disappeared was unnerving and she couldn't shake it from her mind.

The First Dream Nina awoke in a new unknown land. The smell overwhelmed her very nostrols as she struggled to get used to the thickness and stench of the air. Her sight was still slightly blurry, though it was foggy anyway and all she could see were tall trees with roots that seemed like spiders legs. And in that moment she realized it, she was standing in the mucky water, she took a deep breath and tried consentrating on something different. It didn't work, So she stood there with her eyes closed holding herself tightly. "This isn't real, I'm just loosing it. yeah thats it, I'm going crazy." But she still couldn't shake that familiar feeling that someone she knew, she'd encountered before was here. A familiar voice sounded behind her, and almost instantly her legs shook and almost buckled from underneath her and her eyes flew open.
The voice was deep as it spoke and it got closer to wear Nina was standing. "Your not crazy Nina, i brought you here." Aque swam through the mucky water that made up his home, closer and closer came to her until he saw the fear in her eyes and she fled from his presence. Oh how he loved this new body.

Quote: As she neared the tree, she reached up and grabbed the closest root, pulling her body weight up and out of the water. Her body trembled furiously as she crawled up the base. And when she made it to the trunk, she turned and expected to see him behind her, watching. So she took a deep breath and looked around, only to find no one. Letting out an exhausted sigh and slide down to her knees, and gripped them tightly. Under the depths he waited. Calmly, for any disturbance on the waters surface, calmly waiting. He felt a slight brush at his own tail and whirled around to catch sight of his annoyance. But all he saw was dark water. He swam closer to the top hoping he could shake the feeling. Whatever it was down there, it was bigger, and stronger than he was.
An impulse took hold of him, and warned him it was time. With a quick ;swish' of his tai, he burst out of the water onto the edge of the high roots that Nina was perched in front of. He grinned and watched curiously as she stood sniffling, clinging to the tree like her only life line. Her eyes were fixated on him as he came closer, and closer. She came, once again face-to-face with him, and thought of it made her skin crawl. "Stay away from me you monster!!" She said trembling against the tree for support. In this state she didn't even trust herself to stand upright. And with good reason, her legs gave out from under her as she slumbed to her knees, but her eyes never left him, not once. "Go away, please. Just leave me alone!" kicking her feet frantically to tried to put a little more distance between them. But there was no running from him, he knew this place better than she did and was at his mercy. There was no where to go.Growling loudly, he beared his r azor sharp fangs. Man he loved this feeling, the feeling of complete power over another, especially her. The sudden rush of 'the kill' so to speak was enough to make him purr, but of course that wasn't him. His body burned with a new found passion for his 'life' as he closed in on her. Her tiny frame quivered as she apporached the edge of the root, and her eyes widened more with panic,. Oh yes, he loved this....Her face paled as gazed upon his distored features, they seemed different while he was hunting. huntin, no that wasn't something she wanted to be thinking. Her body quaked again as he roared at her, her fingers slipped from their secure places and sent her falling backwards. There wasn't any time before she would hit the water beneath her, so her body tensed with anticipation, but it never came. She seemed to linger in a suspended state for what seemed like eternity. closeing her eyes she imagined being snuggled up in her bed, under the warm sheets she had just recently washed.
A small flash of light filled her head and when she opened her eyes this time, she almost weeped as she looked upon her own room with everything in it's rightful place. (excuse the spelling, i'll correct it when i'm more awake. biggrin )

After Affects Nina sat awake in her bed for the third night in row after her herific dream, it was something that made her very palms sweat at the thought of it. She hadn't had more than three hours of sleep at a time, and with work and school it was beginning to pay it's toll on her, mentally and physically. Even with the best makeup, her exhaustion was more than apparent. Todd opened her door a crack and peeked into the dim lighted room. Nina's head turned on a dime toward the creaking and smiled at the sight of her kid brother. She watched him as he made his way into the room and to her bed. Scooting upward so her head was resting on the bedpost and sighed.
"What's the matter sis'?" Todd asked placing his head on her thighs, his hand cushioning his head.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she answered. "It's nothing I just can't sleep, that's all."
"But you look tired, I can make you some soup.." He said peeking his head up from it's resting place to look at her. "I bet that would help."
