I've been debating abortion on another website where some of the pro-lifers have been posting links to photos of what they claim are aborted fetuses. Some of them are photos I've seen before on pro-choice websites where they claimed they were fake.
I've heard a lot of people say before that many of the photos pro-lifers use are fake and/or are actually photos of fetuses that were still born naturally.
Does anyone know of a website with more information about this?
I really need a link to back this up, preferably one that is at least somewhat non-biased and more likely to be accepted by a pro-lifer.

Somebody posted a link dedicated to debunking the most commonly used fake pictures, but I wouldn't know where to find that post again. I'll check the library of logic....

Those pictures are very gross and naturally make people feel squicky about abortion. It's an Appeal to Emotion tactic and the fact that they're fake makes it worse.
The site Sensedog linked is very good, though.

I heard this before too.
And even if they are real, that they only use to ones of late-term abortions, which is like, only 0.01% of abortions.

Find pictures of cancer, or internal images of organs, and make a mocking post about how we should oppose any and all invasive procedures because they look gross.
Then make the point in bold that abortions looking gross and appealing to emotion have nothing to do with whether or not removing a fetus from a woman is wrong, at least no more than cancer looking icky has anything to do with removing it from its host.

And aren't even done electively. They might as well be telling us "OMG trying to save your life is eeevilll!" Actually, these kids have basically said that. Apparently I'm a horrible person because I believe that women should put their lives ahead of their fetus. Most of these kids have been pretty brainwashed. I'm pretty sure the only reason they aren't screaming and calling me a babykiller is because I happen to be on staff at the forum and they know I could get them into trouble.

I sometimes end up comparing PETA to pro-lifers. True, a vegetarian diet is extremely beneficial to the health of people- MOST people. They're all like, "OMG MEAT KILLS YOU!!!!" and anti-dairy, but DUDE! There are people with health problems, allergies to soy, etc. that can't live a healthy life on vegan food!
