These are the three principles of growth in Christ. The only other thing to do is worship, and that's what our lives are supposed to be all about already.
1. Prayer
Prayer is humbly coming to throne of God in an effort to connect, seek guidance, and ask for the things in his will. I. Why should we pray? A. Because we are commanded to. -1 Thessalonians 5:17 B. Because all of the great figures of the bible prayed C. Because Jesus prayed, and who are we to say we are greater than him?
2. Bible intake
Reading the bible is the best Christian outlet for seeking guidance. It is our guidebook on life, our tool for defending ourselves, and the life preserver we use to bring people to Christ. I. Is the bible valid? A. The fact that the bible has carried the same message for several thousand years is a testament to its validity B. Whenever the bible was translated, the monks and scribes would look over one another's shoulders and if there was an error the entire manuscript would be thrown away and started over. Because, just a small line in the greek language can mean something totally different. C. Then there's the dead sea scrolls. Which is a whole 'nother thread. II. Why should we read the bible? A. It contains God's message for life. B. It is how he communicates to us. C. "Damascus road" events happen in life, but not often. Why would God send us messages if he has already put a complete word here on the Earth?
3. Fellowship of Believers
The fellowship of believers is an equally necessary part of the Christian life. It is the time that we can get together with others, seek knowledge, encourage one another, and be more effective in ministry. I. Why should we join together in worship? A. Because we are commanded to - Hebrews 10:25, Hebrews 3:13 B. To seek knowledge. Knowledge is like a puzzle, and everyone has a piece. But no one has all of the puzzle. So we must come together to pick up more pieces. C. Encouragement, because we all get down sometimes. D. To be more effective. More people working together can get more done.
Well that's that. Thanks for checking this out. You are welcome to post your questions, comments, and concerns. There are also eight spiritual disciplines that support these three. I'll post those sometime next week.

That was really cool. biggrin I do have a question, though. Do you know where i can go in the bible to get warrior advice? Cuz, here's my whole thing: I am going to a christian school next year, to get the feel of school. Cuz i've been homeschooled all my life. Then, I'm going to go into a public highschool after that year as a warrior to bring people to Christ in the little highschool that i would be going to. I feel like this year to come is going to be a preperation year, part of the reason that i'm going to a christian school. So, naturally, i should be preparing, reading the bible and praying. The only problem is, that the bible is huge! And, i just don't know where the most effective place would be for me to read. And, to be honest, i've slacked off of reading the bible, mostly cuz i don't know where to read. So, if you have any suggestions, that would help me out alot! biggrin

And actually, the christian school will probably be more judgemental than a public school. i was homeschooled myself for about three years before i started high school, so if you have some questions or would like someone to talk to about the transition feel free to ask me.
