THIS IS BEYOND PISSED OFF
Pretty much since 6th grade, the only positive aspect of my jewish overbearing private school has been the 8th grade Israel trip.
My dad says I can't go. ouch.
But it gets worse than that: I am suffering from the worst peer pressure ever everyday its "dude, why arent you going?" ouch. But whats even worse is teacher pressure: everyday a hebrew teacher comes up to me- "lamah yakov, lamah?" I didnt even know so manyhebrew teachers knew my name!

Aww your name is Yakov? My friends too.
Anyway, why is it your father isn't letting you go to Israel? Is it because he thinks it unsafe or what? If this is the situation, you have to respect his wishes, because he's only looking out for you. If not, I'm sorry, but you still have to respect his wishes.
If it makes you feel better dear, you can't fully appreciate Israel when you're only 12. I'm not just talking about partying either, I'm being serious. The older you are, the more you are going to understand, and the more you are going to get out of what you learn!
One day, if you really want to, you will be able to go there. Just sit tight, and don't worry about what other people are saying. I know that's hard to do, but hey, how can you pick up chicks with Hebrew teachers everywhere? blaugh

The summer after the Millennium (Summer 2000) I had the blessing of going on a trip to Israel with my family, However, I was only 8 at the time, and a Kingpinsqeezels said, I was not able to fully appreciate it. Yes, i knew it was the holy land, the Jewish Homeland, but I would give anything to gbe on Masada again and fully appreciate just what happened and in the city of Jarusalem, at the Wall relishing in my ancestral heritage and being able to be in the place where I belong. If my parents let me I really want to do this semester exchange to Israel next year. But I doubt they will. T.T NO matter what I'll be doing Birthright. And then I'll be living there for at least a year when I go to Cantorial school! I'm so excited. ^^
