I find it quite interesting but something that has always confused me is if they say you were born in the year of the animal, are they referring to the start of the Chinese New Year, or the normal New Year?

I'm a dragon. I'm interested in it, but only about half of what a dragon is fits me. I find it an interesting read regardless.

I know more about the other form of astrology better than the Chinese, though I know they do act similar. I just know that there are the elements fire, earth, metal, water, and wood, which rotate in that order by two (ex: fire, fire, earth, earth, metal, metal, etc.). I only know that I'm the earth dragon.

While my birth year defines me as a rabbit, I've found myself to be a completely different animal from the Chinese Zodiac, the Monkey, the only animal that can out wit the Dragon, I've found myself to fit perfectly with this animal in almost every fashion.
As for what element...I haven't the faintest idea, I really haven't looked into the elements with the Chinese Zodiac...just the Western elements, in which case I've got a Dominantly Earth based element.
If I'm not entirely Therian, then I'd also have to say I've got one hell of a connection with the monkey outside of simply the Zodiac. Dreams, mental "shifts", all my friends say I move almost exactly as a monkey would most of the time.
