You guys remember the first time you ever played LOD? I was playing this morning and thought about all the little moments I experienced through my first time.
1. I was MAD when I got this game for Christmas. I asked for the latest Spyro game and my papi got me LOD instead. After a friend told me to try it out, I really got into it. Thank you for the mistake, Papi! xd
2. How much I laughed when Dart says "This fire makes me wanna 'do it.'" when he's commenting on the fire in the Hoax fortress.
3. When I accidentally skipped the fort in the swamp battle-scene and came back before going to Hellena. They were still fighting... o.O
4. When my friend and I couldn't defeat Drake the bandit. After trying for the... I think it was the sixth time, he turned to me and asked, "Do you suppose a week has passed? Can we just say Shana is dead?"
5. When Lavitz died and I was actually speechless for awhile.
6. Watching Al go crazy over Emille.
7. How corny Dart was whenever around Shana.
8. When I cheered when Miranda replaced Shana; only to soon realize I didn't like her very much, either...
9. When I began to love Miranda: When she slaps Rose. That was great.
10. In the final movie, I couldn't figure out what was with the scene right before Dart goes home to Shana. Those big heavy doors opened and you see that "man" standing there... Three completions of the game later and I realized that was Mrs. Slambert and Dart was giving Lavitz that drink he owed him.
There are a ton more moments, but I think ten will do for now. You guys remember what it was like your first time playing through it?

Worst time ever. Forgetting to stock up on healing items, not realizing it, and ultimately being killed only a few steps away from Rock Fireflies in the Valley of Corrupted Gravity.
We're talking MERE steps away, my first play through was heinous like that sometimes.
Sort of like being repeatedly mauled by that rock that has the Block Staff. That thing sucked a hard one.

Hahaha, I remembered that I played through like, half of the game using nothing but Double-slash before I realised that I can't get any strong unless I use the others ones also.

Baulder Hahaha, I remembered that I played through like, half of the game using nothing but Double-slash before I realised that I can't get any strong unless I use the others ones also. The same happened to me. I played it with my neighbor the first time through and had Dart, Haschel, and Kongol in my party because they were the "strongest." (that was his insisting, mind you.) We had no idea WTH was up with the additions until I started over and took that battle lesson. Come to think of it, that first time took us forever... I realized magic is as good as brute strength.

When I first played it I was creeped out about Miranda's mom(Rose monster?).
Also my first time through was already started by my friend, I didn't realize that he had put the gameshark codes on it. Until the characters had no idea what the Divine Dragoon was and I had already had its spirit for the whole game.
Second time through I never got Kongol's spirit until towards the end of the game.

I remember I'd sit down with the controller and tap combinations of buttons for hours trying to figure out how to go into Dragoon Mode. It was only later that I found out I couldn't do it until later on.

Oh godness! I have many too!
~Being confused when I found a copy of LoD under my mom's bed when no one in the family owned a playstation nor would admit to having bought the game. There was no receipt or indication on the bag to tell where it was from either. Still no one to this day knows how it got there. It was fate I say! xp But onto actual game memories....
~Getting stuck on Dole and having to run to gamestop to buy the guide, only then to realize that angels prayer could revive you (up until that point I thought if you died in battle, you stayed dead until the end of the fight). Boy did I feel stupid sweatdrop
~Not realizing until the first Virage fight that you could change additions!
~My dad making fun of Minister Noish's name and saying, "he's not yes, he's not no, but it looks more noish". Parents rolleyes
~Fighting Lenus over, and over and over and over.
~Wondering if Meru's "mell of a hess" was a typo or a comedic remark...
~Finishing disk 3 and running downstairs, still shaking, to tell my mom all about what had happend even though she didn't care in the least
~Getting lost for what seemed like forever in the death frontier, and the overwhelming joy I felt when I made it to the little oasis right outside Ulara.
~Being slightly dissapointed by Dart and Rose's "confrontation" in Ulara/death frontier.
~Thinking I'd just "practice" battle Melbu and do the real thing the next day when I had more time, and being in shock when I beat it that night with little effort, and...
~Thinking my game had suddenly glitched at the end of the game when suddenly Dart was transforming and attacking Melbu without me doing anything.
Oh the memories.

I remember fighting Lenus many times also. It was one of the many moments I wished Lavitz would come back...
And I dunno about the "mell of a hess" thing either, but a few of my friends and I said that for awhile afterwards so we weren't exactly SWEARING.

The first time I played was like 5 years ago. I was just looking through games to play and saw it and thought it might be good. Though I had never played an RPG before, so I expected a bunch of monsters to surround me. When it did that dissolve thing marking that you're in battle I thought there was something wrong with the game. I saw the three characters in a row and had no idea what was going on. I was kind of confused that there were 4 discs and just put in disc two and was playing someone else's game. The characters I had were of course Dart, Haschel, and Rose. I went to Donau and got Meru (which is when I found out you can switch characters. But in battle I had no idea what additions were. So I never even got to complete the first part of an addition. I couldn't even do Double Slash. I got game over the first time within 4 swamp battles. How embarassing is that? When I was playing I was told to not keep switching discs and after I got game over the first time I chose new game and it told me please insert disc one and my mom got angry and told me I wasn't supposed to be sitching discs and I told her that it told me to and she got even madder. The second time I played I knew more on how to play so it was much easier that time. Though right now I'm only on disc three. I'm stuck at the Divine Dragon. And I still don't have anybody's last addition.

Oh yeah, my brother's game has a lot of cheat codes. Though he never heard about the divine dragoon code. but all of his characters are at level 60 and none of them have their last addition. And only dart is Dragoon Level 5. All the rest aren't even Dragoon Level 4.

I get scary when it comes to leveling up in LOD. The very first time I played through the game, I didn't care much for it, and I used a lot of cheat codes. I only got to the Phantom Ship on disk two. The second time I played through, I couldn't use cheat codes because my gameshark had been cracked in half, and it was an interesting play-through to say the least, seeing as I didn't have a memory card. How I beat the game without a memory card, you might ask? I left the Playstation on for 5 days, playing it from my bed. XD. Anywho, the last time I played through the game, I decided that I wanted to be obscenely powerful, and as a result of my scary leveling up, by the time I got to the Shrine of Shirley, and I fought Drake, Dart, Lavitz and Rose were all about level 37 (I think that's the level that Lavitz and Rose were at, and Dart was at 40) Lavitz had his Ultimate Addition, and all three of them were at Dragoon Level 5.
It was fricken HILARIOUS!!!! When I fought Drake, I was so fricken powerful. Rose was the weakest of my characters. I guarded with Dart and Lavitz until it was her turn. I had her attack, and didn't even hit the first addition. Drake was down to half life. Just from that one freaking attack, he lost half his life. I waited until he had all of his traps set (The bombs and the wires), and I guarded until it was Dart's turn. I used the Dragoon Special, making it go to the fire screen. I did a one hit normal addition with him, as well as with Rose. I used Lavitz's Dragon Summon, and then, Dart's Dragon Summon. Everything was still on the screen before the Red-Eye Dragon showed up, but he killed everything XD. It was hilarious because it looked like the fire had shot strait through everything, destroying it, then going strait for Drake. Needless to say, the rest of the game was so easy, it was scary.

You so far are the best player I ever encountered. I would never risk taking that long to play the game. Though I do want to see what Lavitz looks like performing Blossom/Flower Storm. One time I played through the entire first disc non-stop with no memory card. But I died at Doel. My mom found out how long I played and I got grounded for a month. I bet I could beat it within a few days non-stop. Oh yeah, none of my characters are even level 30 yet.

I definitely don't have the patients for something like that, lol! The most I ever leveled was maybe five levels worth in Kadesa. Leveling-up just takes so freaking long in LoD, and I just want to get the game over with, you know? Move the plot ahead! biggrin

The first time I played LoD was the first time I'd ever played my own videogame without my brothers telling me what to do, so I was too excited to bother with all that leveling up. I killed whatever came in my path, and played the game through truly.
