Kianga put her nose down to the ground, she'd been sniffing around for hours following a scent. She didnt know what it was she was following really, tracking was just her favourite way to pass the time. The sun peaked through the canopy of trees and shone down reflecting off her yellow fur. A beam hit her eye and she looked up at the position of the sun, it was about 3 hours till sundown.
"where did the day go?" she asked herself under her breath. A breeze caught her by suprise filling her nostrils with the scent again. She bounded off after it in a ridiculous over-zealous manner that made even her laugh. If she was good at anything it was entertaining herself.

Leini stepped into a tree filled area. It was still daytime, but the other wild dog she was with was asleep a few miles away.
Well, she thought that he was still asleep since she had left in the morning.
Despite that, she had never been to an area with so many trees! It was amazing.
The small wild dog sniffed the ground taking in the new scents of the area.
She dashes though the area, giggling as the light from the sun speckled on her white fur. It was kind of weird, but kind of cool, too.

The sunlight danced upon the jungles floor as Kianga raced toward the scent, as she got closer she could tell it was the scent of another wild dog. Kianga slowed down to a brisk walk, her tail wagged back and forth in her excitement. Kianga didnt meet too many other wild dogs, in fact she's only come across lions on her "journey".
Finally the new creature came into view. She was right! It was another Wild dog, her tail wagged involuntarily at the sight. She narrowed her eye to get a better look at it, it appeared and smelled like a female and visibly smaller than herself so she guessed her to be younger. But still she had nearly forgotten what her kind looked like, she would have forgotten altogether if it werent for her reflection in the waters she drank from.
She approached slowly, caution was still on her mind. "Hello" She called out.

Leini tilted her head and looked up from her paws. The scattered dots of lights were distracting her, but she managed.
"Hello!" She said. He tail wagged visably. The little wild dog still knew no danger as she had never been attacked. "Who're you? I'm Leini!"
She walked towards the Wild dog curiously and sniffed the air a little bit. She paused for a second before asking another question. "What's this place called. I've never been here before..."

All caution was to the wind when Leini had greeted her in a friendly manner, she was pretty sure she could take on a vicious adolescent anyway.
"I'm Kianga" She approached and sat on her haunches a few feet in front of Leini "And you're in the jungle" her tail wagged a bit, being in the jungle was probably her favourite place.
"So where are you from? you look a little young to be traveling alone" she cocked her head to the side and inspected the dog closer. She was happy to finally be meeting another Wild dog but at the same time sorrow filled her, if she did not know about the jungle then surely most wild dogs did not as well. She didnt really want to leave the jungle in order to find more of her own kind.

"I'm not traveling alone," she said with a giggle.
"I'm looking for my brother," Leini said. She paused. "He left a few weeks ago, so I'm trying to find him. He's red with brownish spots. Have you seen him?"
Leini's red eyes twinkled with hope as she looked up at the older wild dog. Her tail wagged lightly too.

"You've lost your brother" she repeated apprehensivly, "in the jungle? I havent seen another lion, sorry"
Kianga felt sympathy for Leini, she too had lost her family but it was more of a permanent loss, she was never able to find them again. The hope in the little ones eyes broke her heart, but it was getting late and she didnt really want to see the pup wandering off into the night.
"where is your mother?" she asked "or your father?" she added, after thinking maybe not all fathers were cowards like hers.
"It's getting late you know" She looked up to check the position of the sun again, it was lower to the ground now and the sky had become tinged with pink and orange, a clear sign that night would be falling upon them shortly

Lion...?
Leini ignored that at looked at the Wild Dog curiously. "Mom and Dad? Their back at the den....I think. I ran away..." She said.
She looked away from the older dog. "Mom's probably worried sick and Dad's probably looking for me..."
She paused and looked up. "But I hve to find my brother... I don't know where he is..." Leini sniffled and whined sadly.

((didnt mean lion..sorry- watching House and got distracted))
"It's getting a little late to look for him you know" Kianga didnt really know what to do, should she escort the pup back home? or take her into her den for the night, help her search for her brother? Her thoughts were jumbled the only clear thing was that it was getting dark fast.
"I can help you look for your brother if you wish" she offered when she saw how upset the pup was.."Why did you guys run away?"

"Well, I can just stay here for the night, can't I?" She asked. "I don't know if my brother came to the jungle or not..."
She looked up. "I don't know why my brother left... We were playing at night when we ran into a catbeast. She said some stuff..." Leini didn't recall the words her brother had said. "And then her ran off with the catcreature..."
She paused for a second. "My brother's faster than me, so I couldn't catch them..."
"Please... please don't take me back to my parents... I need to find my brother first..." she pleaded.

Kianga nodded and listened to the pups desperate cries.. "You can stay in my den for the night of course.." Her den wasnt very far from her and it was certainly big enough to fit a pup in it.
"Your brother ran off with a catbeast?" she raised her eyebrow, that was the oddest thing she had ever heard. It wasnt as if Cats and dogs could breed and that being the case what else could you want with it? "Was he just chasing it? " she decided to ask.
"I'll help you search for your brother in the morning even if it means venturing out of the jungle" she nodded again and turned tail to head off towards her den. It didnt take her very long to get there, she paused at the entry way. It wasnt much, she lived near the waterfall so there were quite a few rock around and a few happened to form a cave. She drapped some giant leaves over it to try and disguise it so no other creatures would take up the cave as their own.

"Thank you..." Leini said. "I'm sorry..."
He ears drooped for imposing. "My brother... he was... weird in a way, but he's the only one I talk to. He's important to me. He wanted to ask this catbeast of the world..."
Leini paused. "Miss Kianga... If you don't mind me saying... I was traveling with another wild dog. A blue one. His name is Inyoni... would you like to meet him?" she asked.

"you dont have to be sorry " Kianga smiled warmly, she loved pups dearly, she thought this one especially was very cute.
She looked around curiously at the mention of another wild dog, she didnt see it anywhere. "is this an imaginary friend of yours?" She had an imiaginary friend when she was just a pup too, it was all she could to keep herself from being lonley.

Leini giggled. "No, Silly. I left him outside the jungle while he was sleeping. I don't know if he's still there though..."
She said with a grin.
"Are you lonely, Miss Kianga?" She asked with a tilt of her head.
Leini was never alone, so she never felt lonely before. Except when her brother left.
Leini couldn't be alone. She had eight siblings and two parents, so she was rarely without someone by her.

Lonley..That was a good word to describe her, well maybe not..after all she had finally joined a pack. But still, there would always be a part of Kianga that would remain lonley, she no longer had her siblings or her mother as wretched as she may have been. Used it it by now, it still pained her to hear of herself considered lonley.
"What lonley?" she smiled, she wouldnt depress the pup with the truth. "I've got you for the moment havent I?" She nuzzled the pup playfully and scooted her into the den. The den was much cooler than outside, which was a releif. The sun did not shine directly upon her in the jungle but it was much more humid then in the savana itself. "Shall I fetch this stranger for you? or should we wait untill the morning?"
