"Booooorrring..."
His ears flattened along the sides of his head, his white eyes rolling in a miniature circle in their sockets. Apparently, what ever this stallion was doing proved to be of no interest to him.. Which was rather obvious since he was doing absolutely nothing in the first place. With his stomach on the ground, his legs curled up around his stomach, and his slender neck and head on the ground, this stallion groaned some, his eyes wandering aimlessly.
"I need something to do...", he muttered quietly.

Dia snorted and sailed across the sky, gloomy and irritable. She had left her land of origin due to lack of food and fresh water, and being forced out of her home didn't put her in the brightest of moods.
Shaking her mane, she ignored the wrappers of the candies in her hair as they rustled in the wind, and looked down in search of any potential dinner.
Looking downwards with her pink eyes, they soon spotted a brown and white figure laying on the ground. At first, she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her due to the white snow and the brown patches of dead grass scattering the ground, but she noticed the twitching of a tail and recognized the being as a Soquili.
"Hmm..." she thought to herself, a delightfully wicked idea forming in her mind, "I wonder if that Soquili's injured, just lying on the ground like that?"
As much as she loved the thrill of the hunt, having an easy prey to catch always made a quick and delicious meal. Swooping downwards, she spiraled her way towards the ground and towards the figure in a vulture like pattern.
She wondered how she would play with this creature. Should she just walk up and put it out of its misery and eat it? Or perhaps this creature could be stupid enough to mistake her for a fancy looking wind Soquili? She loved it when a creature did that.... just because she failed to have a devil tail like other Kalonas and looked pretty, pink and innocent, some pitiful creatures actually thought she had good intentions. And, of course, she always obliged them and played with their beliefs right before she snapped them up for supper.
Giggling to herself, she landed her hot pink hooves against the ground and began her walk towards the Soquili.

Sighing some more and shaking his head slightly, the stallion flicked his cropped tail, some snow falling off of it. Small patches of green grass were all around, showing that winter was dying off. In a way, this depressed him, for winter was his favorite time of the year. Now, spring was coming, which meant little foals running around and couples kissing up to each other every which way you turned.
Blech!
Snorting in slight disgust, the stallion brushed his head upon the snow, looking behind him to see if anything interesting was back there. Sure enough, as his white eyes rounded the small piles of snow, a very, very interesting figure caught his eye.
A white mare... A beautiful white mare. His jaw slightly dropping, the stallion raised his head some, not being able to take his eyes off of her. She had locks of purple and pink hair, small, shiny-looking things scattered throughout it, both her mane and her tail reflecting each other. She had wings as well, starting off in pink tips and sprinkling down into white, almost like sugar or something. The stallion couldn't tell what type of wings that were, but at that moment, he didn't care either.
"Wow...... So.. So.. Beautiful.. And.. Sweet..."

She sighed as the stallion turned around and spotted her approaching. So much for the element of surprise.
Making her way through the snow, she examined the horse as it lay there, wondering if it did indeed have an injury, or if it was just laying down for the sake of laying down on the cold wet snow.
How odd this horse looked. He wasn't just a simple shade of brown... it was more of a speckle of shades of brown, with a white stripe running across his back and around his belly. His mane was cut abnormally short, in her opinion, as well as his tail. What respectable horse would let his hair stay that short? As he turned around, she noticed he had large purple balls attached to the front of his chest.... what in the world could those possibly be?
Tossing her own pink and purple locks to one side, she snorted, wondering what kind of horse this was, for she had never seen the likes of him before in all of her life. Perhaps he would make a tastier treat than a regular Soquili would?

"Those striped legs.. Those beautiful locks... Those shiny shimmers... She's so tasty looking. She's like a giant bunch of candy, all different types, and all thrown together. I've never seen another Soquili like her in my life.. Or even in my dreams!"
Slowly turning all the way around, he was able to get a better view of her, only increasing his own swooning. The one thing he couldn't understand though was why he was like this. He had met quite a few mares already, and none of them had ever made him feel this way. Was it the effect of the oncoming spring? He hoped not... But at the same time.. He loved the feeling that was surging through him.
As she drew nearer, the stallion, suddenly got the notion that this female did not want him to see her. So, as weird as he may of looked, he put his head back down and closed his eyes, lying quite still in the fallen snow.

Pausing her walk, Dia left her front hoof posed in the air as she watched the stallion lay his head back down. Was the fool trying to ignore her, of all things?! What horse would ignore her beauty and sweet appearance?
Irritated, her wings twitched in anger, and she lifted her head proudly in the air, the candy necklace adorning her neck rustling softly against her white skin. She did not take kindly to those who ignored her existance, whether they knew she was a Kalona or not.
As to not frighten away her future dinner plans, she attempted to keep her voice as sweet as possible as she called out. "You there, over there in the snow.... what do you think you're doing?"

Smiling to himself as the stallion had captured the mare's attention, he slowly raised his head once more, opening his eyes and looking in her general direction.
"Ummm.. Lying down? Can I not do this, ma'am? After all, it seems that you're beauty is too stunning to look directly at.. So, I would have to lie down in the snow and look at you that way."
Snorting some and making little bits of fluffy snow fly upwards, the stallion couldn't help but chuckle a bit, the snow falling gracefully back down in front of him. Oh yes... He had her attention now.

She preened, and began to strut in the place of walking. So he had noticed her beauty before. She loved compliments, whoever they were from. She decided then and there that she wouldn't prolong his death... when it came time to kill this creature, she'd make it short and swift. It was the least she could do for such sweet words.
"It's not nice, to remain lying down while the lady stands, you know." She said curtly, arriving next to wear he lay. Looking down, she noticed his eyes looked... white. She had never seen white eyes before; they had a glazed look to them, almost like he was blind, which he obviously wasn't, if he could notice how sweet and sugary she looked. This definitely wasn't your run-of-the-mill Soquili, and she was determined to find out what made this one so different from the others.
"Why..." she started, pausing to gaze at his fuzzy purple balls once again, "Why... do you look so different than other Soquili? And what's your name, stallion?"

A grin curled over the stallion's red lips, showing greatly over his white teeth and brown skin. Slowly standing up, the male looked over the mare in front of him, admiring her beauty even more so. It was so great... Especially up close... And the sweet smell that seemed to come from her was so tempting.
Reaching his full height, the male now stood over her, showing that clearly, she may not be able to take him out as easily as she may of thought. With the gumdrops on his chest sticking out in front of him, and his contrasting mane, tail, and odd, white markings, this stallion was definitely a different site to see.
"Better? Now, I stand before you, as well as you stand before me. We are equal, yet we are not."
Ah... Riddles.. Sometimes they were amusing. Other times, they only led to trouble.
"My name is Gingey. It's a pleasure to meet you Ms....? What might your name be?", he questioned, slightly bowing his head, also ignoring her first question.

Dia snorted. She didn't have the time, nor the want, for eloquent words, and this stallion seemed to be full of them. Spreading out her wings, Dia shook her mane, and a piece or two of candy fell down to the ground.
Settling her wings down closer towards her side, Dia glared at the stallion, not so sure if she wanted to play 'sweet' any longer. "Gingey, huh? What kind of a name is that for a mare to give her son?" She pawed the ground and glanced at his odd fuzzy balls once again. "My name is Diabetia, and it would do you good to never forget it."
Turning to one side, she examined their surroundings and muttered. "Not that it would do you much good for very long."
There didn't seem to be any life forms circulating the area. Perhaps now was the time to get ready to take this "Gingey" down and feast on dinner. The more she thought about it, the more she realized how hungry she really was. Horse meat was not the most.... flavorable of treats to her; she herself preferred the juicy rabbit to all else, but would take what she could find. She could feel her mouth salivating at the thought of nice warm, fresh meat in her mouth, and her fangs were ready to clamp down on flesh.
"Patience, Dia dear," She thought to herself, poising herself in a more elegant fashion. "It won't do you good to scare off your dinner before you get the first taste."

As this mare, Diabetia, seemed so anxious about something, Gingey saw her stretch her wings outward, for no particular reason. However, due to this, he had seen what they finally were, and honestly, he didn't like it. Kalona wings... Large and bat-like. The pink and white on them had fooled his eyes, as well as mane to had. All the Kalona's he had known had a long, whip-like tail with a point at the end, much like a demon. This mare, however, didn't. She had a flowing mane, like many other Soquili. Snorting some, Gingey realized that this complicated things.. By a lot too.
"Diabetia, huh? Well, for such a sweet looking mare, your name doesn't sound too kind. As for my name, I wasn't named by a mare or stallion of any sorts. I never had any parents, that I can remember anyhow. So, my name origin is of no real concern to you."
Looking her over more so, he could now see other Kalona traits that showed up in her. She had pink eyes, looking harmless, but around them was like a black circle, making her eyes look dark. She even had fangs that stuck out below her top lip. The horns on her head weren't to friendly either, even though they were striped like that of a candy cane. More and more things began to pop up, wanting to deem this mare evil.
However, even though Gingey new the type of trouble you could get into with a Kalona and just how mean they could truly be, he wanted to give this one a chance. After all, she seemed to have a nice interior, when she felt like showing it, and that was a reason to give her the chance she deserved.
"Diabetia... If I may ask.. Where are you from? You're... Not like.. Other Soquili of your breed.."

"So this stallion isn't as dumb as I thought," Dia thought to herself as the Soquili looked her over. She saw a flash of realization pass over his eyes and knew the moment he realized what she truly was. She couldn't help but grin, revealing more of her sharp canine fangs, and her brightly colored tail swished to one side happily.
Her eyes narrowed however, as he insulted her name, but her curiousity was piqued when he talked about his lack of parents. Everyone had parents... sure, alot wish they didn't, but how could anyone be born without parents?
Disregarding his comment of her name, Dia stepped forward. "Your name's origin may be of no concern to me, but when I ask a question, I want an answer. And it would do you good, Gingey, to do what I say, for your own sake."
She tried to keep herself from growling the statement, feeling irked that this stallion, now realizing what she truly was, wasn't acting very afraid of her. She was a Kalona, dammit, and Soquili feared Kalona! Now granted, she wasn't the scariest Kalona around, but she had enough strength, power and fangs to take down an animal, and she assumed that deemed her respect.
She watched him continue to look over her body, and he stopped at her tail. "Perhaps that is what stumped him," she thought to herself. She knew 'regular' Kalona had devil like tails, but she had her own beautiful tail of hair and candy, just like the mane hair on her head.
"Where am I from?" She asked softly, almost nostalgic. She then slowly came back into reality and snapped, "I come from a land where terror and famine run rampant now. There's no point to giving the name of it to anyone because soon it will die off, just like everything living in it."

"A land of famine and terror? Oh.. Well, for that, I am quite sorry. I know what it's like to not have a 'real' home to go back to.. And to just be wandering around.. Looking for a friend to have and a home to live under. It's so... So stressing.. And confusing to the utmost."
Bowing his head slightly in respect, he soon began to forget and disregard what breed of Soquili she was. After all, why should that truly matter? If she was kind and sweet, despite her slightly mean and grumpy attitude, then so be it. Just because she was one of the more feared Soquili didn't mean she needed to be treated any differently. With that now in mind, Gingey smiled some when she had smiled, even though she had sharp fangs poking out while he didn't.
"Well.. Diabetia.. If you honestly want to know.. I come from a land far away. In this land.. Two-leggers thrive and work with all their surroundings, building things, raising their own offspring, and such like that. They both catch food, as well as make it. It was a very peaceful little place.. Until a raid of strange two-leggers came to attack it. With that attack, the place was wiped out.. And I was forced to leave. So, I honestly have no parents, for that's where I was raised and brought up, not with a mare and a stallion."
Gingey shrugged his brown speckled shoulders some, not really knowing what else to say. That was his past, and he didn't like it very much. Still, if he had to go into detail, he would, but he preferred not to. However, if this female did decide to ask him about it, he would do as she requested of him and tell it all, for he knew he couldn't deceive her any longer. She was somehow able to tell what his emotions and thoughts were, to an extant, so he might as well tell her the whole thing, right?

"There's nothing to be sorry for. You can't miss something you never loved to begin with."
She rolled her eyes and then scratched an itch off her leg with one hoof. This stallion smelled faintly of sweets, and it was making her hungry. The white stripe on his back and around his hooves, as well as his mane and tail hair looked suspiciously like icing, making him out to look like a giant cookie. That, and the name 'Gingey' didn't help matters. Perhaps she should try a bite to see if he tasted as good as he smelled? "In time," she told herself, willing herself to be patient. She wanted to work herself up an appetite before dining. No sense in wasting good meat.
"Two-leggers are dumb creatures." she snorted, only half listening to the stallion's story. "Useless and stupid. You were blessed being set free from the grasps of the likes of their kind."
"But not so blessed to run into my grasp," She thought to herself, her wicked smile reappearing. Leaning over, she snapped off a piece of her candy off her bracelet of sweets and let her mouth dissolve its sugary flavor. Sugar always gave her a pleasant rush; it helped sweeten any sour mood she might find herself getting into.
"Sooo, Gingey, darling," She said, her voice soothing and sweet, "Tell me... what exactly do you know about Kalonas? I couldn't help but notice your face when you realized what I truly was."
