Recent events have made me decide that I ought to make an ED thread on affirmative action, so I'm going to plot it out here. Suggestions and possible additions appreciated. The following is a very, very rough outline, as I still need to compile some research.

(1) The necessity to balance educational scales, and why affirmative action is the wrong way.
(2) Studies; Asians are mainly suffering the burden of AA laws (Link) => racial implications; "We will support your race, if your race stays below us".


(3) Possible solutions.

The issue is that affirmative action is the right idea - in the wrong place. If we want to fix these gaps really and truly, we need to do much better. School integration is one solution, but really, we need to get teachers, good teachers, in every grade school in the nation, especially those in inner cities. The lower-class the district the school's in, the more money should go into that school to keep it clean, safe, and staffed with the best teachers we can get, making enough money to make it an exceptionally desirable and competitive job market, all set towards one goal: Get the kids to learn, to enjoy learning, and most importantly, to find themselves and their lives beyond.

Imagine a world where graduating from any high school in the US is prestigious around the world, able to get you a large variety of jobs easily. That's what this would seek to create.
