We all (well maybe most of us) know that the propaganda movement was aimed at Uniting the phlippines with spain. They chose the non-combative aproach to equality. What if it worked and we are/were a province of spain. Would the Himagsikan still take place the way it did?

Panitikang Kayumangi

Kilusang Propaganda

jose rizal and the propaganda movement
Nationalist Movement and Katipunan Rebellion 1834 - 1897

(subject to change)

Note: I dont think it is the best option but it was the enlightened one. Id still want the philippines to be free.

Propaganda Movement?

Doesn't propaganda mean advertisement or something?

Propaganda movement is the best thing our heroes have ever done for us. In the Art of War by Sun Tzu, it showed that the Strategem of the Sheathed Sword is the best strategy of overcoming combat or war, it is without bloodshed. Before a lot of Filipino people were scared on doing something about the Spanish government until the Propagandists enlightened the people on the abuse of the Spaniards. Education were limited but the some Filipinos were still able to study well despite the fact that it is hard to have money in order to study back then. Rizal even had a hard time publishing his books if it weren't for the kind hearted people who helped him publish hi book. It even led to having Rizal kill a character in his Novel in order to conserve his expenses. Those who thought that propaganda movement didn't work are looking at it at a different angle. Let's look at it this way: Filipinos then were passive that's why the Propaganda Movement existed in the first place. When the Propagandists died one by one, it lighted a spark on the Filipino People. Then they became aggresive. They tried to resolve things through armed conflict. Without the Propagandists there would never be KKK or Andres Bonifacio.

I truly doubt that. Boni was already being awakaned to some Patriotic ideals before he encountered Rizal's novels. He would have still read the other books written by French philosophes and other international philosophers.

Okie okies I stand correcte on that one. Pero Trivia lng. The KKK that Boni used is somehow I duno if it came from his "readings" of western history because when KKK the katipunan was founded, the Klu Klux Klan already existed during that time. Would Boni have taken the idea of using KKK from the Klux Klux Klan? Or was it merely a coincidence? Hmm... neutral

Maybe...but I think it is more due to our prefixes of "ka-" ((Kataastaasang, kagalang-galangang, katipunan)) "Ka-" is a very common prefix in our language that makes a certain element a noun or adjective ((such as in the word "kaanib". "Anib" means "join an organization or group" while "kaanib" means comrade or partner or someone who is a member of an organization/group that you joined.)).

Dang! We completely change the subject here. Well...at least we had a fruitful discussion.
