Teal gloved paws trotted over the ground, kicking up dust into the white fur that started from her elbows up on all four legs. It wasn't a bad day, just that.... well she hadn't been back this far in the longest of times. Kizaki had never travled from her new pack before, or she had but it had only been a short way and then she'd gone back from fear.
But now she had a reason, Demani had told her that their mother was alive and she wanted to see her again, even if it meant living up to her greatest fear. Even if it meant going to her father and trying to explain why she'd dissapeared.
A sigh drifted from her white muzzle, the arrows under her eyes stretching slightly as she looked down and frowned. Kizaki had come to the conclusion not that long ago that she might not have been ready for this. What if her father didn't accept her anymore now that she'd run off? What if her mother hated her? Was it possible that they wouldn't want her anymore now that she'd been gone for this long? That they would take one look at her and tell her to walk away?
She stopped walking for a moment and stared at her paws for a long while, unsure of if she wanted to cross the Mpinzani border that she was standing right on the edge of. ninja

Jamaa laid beaten, tired and exhausted in the family den in the Pride Lands. His home, his place of santuary, the home that did nothing for his son. He had spent days wanderin around trying to find his son but the rains had washed the odor away but it took it's toll. His foot was defiantly sprained and the pain was shooting up with each step so he had just given up and fell inside the den and waited for his death to arrive. He did not deserve to live anymore...Temari would be heartbroken that another of her pups were taken away especially when he had promised that this would never happen again. He had failed as a father and a mate. First was Kizaki and now...Ryega. Jamaa covered his head and cried to himself. He was just...broken.
He looked outside, the rain was coming, the smell was clear to him now. The rain...the water....Kizaki loved it. She loved to swim. He could remember the day he and Temari with Kizaki went running and ended up swimming in the wtaer hole. Her cheerful, innocent laughter echoed in his head as the tears came again. Oh where was she..... If Temari had not forbade him to look for her....he would have her back again. His heart yearned for her presence again. He did not even know if she was alive or she was...no, she defiantly alive. Kizaki was his daughter, he knew well enough that that girl can handle herself....at least, better than he can himself.
"Ryega....Temari....Kizaki...."
He raised to his feet and limbed painfully into the back room of the den where the walls were littered with paw prints. He fell down and looked upon them. He could see his and beside it, Yakuti's. Oh how he missed his son, he had grown up now and soon to be a father too. He just hoped that he would be better than he was. Looking at it once again he had regret that Ryega had never laid a paw upon this wall with his brothers, even Demani and Tahu.....
He laid down and waited for death to come take him away....

Lightning lit up the sky suddenly and Kizaki lifted her head. Sure she loved the water, but lightning.... just no. Her gem green eyes took it in and instantly flashed to try and find another place where the rain wasn't. It had been so long since she'd been in this area, ever since she'd seen the humans and the arrow that had peirced into her mother's shoulder. She'd run like a weakling, but now her large body spoke that she wasn't.
Yet here she was, picking up speed with each step she took in her attempts to find a place to dodge the lightning and the rain. A loud laugh came from her muzzle at the irony and at the fact that here she was running through the rain again. That second day away from home there had been a storm much like this where she'd hunkered under a tree that had suddenly lit on fire. She'd been forced from it in fear and vowed to never use a tree as a hiding place from the lightning again.
A hole in the ground caught her eye and the female came to a stop, sniffing at it with the realization that it was rather large. Lifting her head and looking around she saw something else, a rise in the ground not that far off that spoke of a den or at least a cave. If it was a den maybe it was abandoned? There was always hope at least.
Just as another lightning strike lit the air, the female stood in the entrance to the den, the lightning throwing her shadow against all the walls as she stood frozen, realizing what and WHO she was smelling.
"Father..." The word drifted from Kizaki's muzzle slowly and echoed in the cavernous den slowly. ninja

Jamaa's ear flicked, his eyes closed, his nose stuffy from the rain from days prior. All day he searched through it that mud still clung to his paws. He heard the other's voice and curled a bit. He did not want any strangers in his den, the last resulted in Ryega's disappearance. Why.....why..... why.....
"This den....it's occupied.......please......stranger are not allowed here."
He murmured over his shoulder. His body was too tired, no, his heart was too tired now. He just wanted to leave this place and just get away from it all. This place brought back so many memories.....
The day he was born, the day his family was taken from him and he was left with his father, his father raising him along, and then....that night. It was not long after Kizaki was taken away by those monsters and then having Temari hate him. He just....lost his mind, he felt like he was losing everything. The pain in his nails and teeth was still in his mind and surely the trees around here had not healed completely from his thrashing. The dirt around here was plotted where he had dug up. He almost lost Yakuti here as well. This den....was both a curse and a fortune. He looked up at the paw prints as that was gonna be the last image he would witness here now.
He could tell that the stranger was still there.

So he didn't even remember her then? That probably made Kizaki the saddest of everything, that her own father hadn't remembered her. Though it had been a while since she'd seen him, she admitted it herself, why did he have to go and forget that it was her? Forget her smell.
"So... Kizaki's father doesn't even remember her does he?" She said in a gruff voice, letting it echo loudly off of the walls with her anger. Sharp eyes flashed in the darkness and she walked further into the den. "She comes looking for her family and finds only a father with a bad memory. Why did she bother looking in the first place?"
The next lightning flash lit up her body, her gold glowing as brightly as her angry eyes, the fur over her hackles raised high and her claws dug into the ground. Her teeth weren't bared, but her eyes sparked and crackled with fire from anger. If anything had seen into the cave they'd have assumed that she was about to kill the other dog, and considering her enormous size it would have been no issue at all. Size wise she stood about eye level with the dog that lay before her now, though at the time she didn't know.
He'd been larger than life to her the last time she'd seen him... what had happened?
Grinding her teeth together to keep her muzzle from lifting in a snarl of anger, Kizaki curled her teal striped tail over her back and ruffed her fur up. Here she'd thought of her father EVERY DAY and he'd gone and forgotten her? How dare he!
"Get up old man!" Kizaki snarled instantly, teeth baring as her anger became too much and tears slid down her cheeks. "You want to go and forget all about her, Kizaki'll make it so you can't forget her ever again!" Her words caught in her throat as she kept crying. ninja

Kizaki. Kizaki? Kizaki! Almost instantly, Jamaa jumped to his feet without reaction and run to his daughter. He wrapped his paws around her and held her close. Suddenly he felt a great burden lift from his body but still remained. He felt a bit better. Everyday he had thought of her, rarely spoke of her in fear of bringing up old wounds in Temari's heart. He wagged softly and he felt awkward that for once a female was not smaller than him but just about the same size. He gave a sigh that was held in for so many months.
"Oh Kizaki...." he moved her back to get a good look at her and smiled. "You have grown so much, it is amazing to see my little girl all grown up. Please forgive me, I am not feeling well at all. Being exposed to the rain all day makes one that way."
He gave a nervious chuckle and hugged her again. Oh he had longed for their reunion for so long. Her fur was soft and well kept, she seemed in great health. She probably had her own family now, but who could blame her, she was beautiful. He didn't want to let her go again, no he didn't want her to leave him.
He let her go and smiled with a soft sniffle from his nose. It had been too long, she had grown up so much. He could still remember her laughter, her voice. She still spoke the way she used to. But she was still his little girl. His little Kizaki.
"Oh Kizaki....you're as beautiful as I remembered."

There wasn't a chance for Kizaki to so much as react at all when her father pulled her into the tightest and only hug she'd had in months. Shivers ran down her body as the female cried and hugged her father back, it had been far too long for her. In truth she should have come back months ago to try and find her father and explain her mother's death. Though at least she knew now that she wouldn't have to explain that anymore.
When he pulled back the female used one of her teal gloved paws to wipe at her nose and smile over at him. It was strange to look her father right in the eye, strange to think that she'd grown so much that she was actually on level with her father, though she knew she never would really be on level with him. She was only a pup at heart still after all.
"Rain never USED to bother you." Kizaki said for a moment, her eyes watching her father as lightning lit up the cave again and she leaned her gold and white head to the side in confusion.
Rolling her shoulders for a moment, Kizaki let a blush light up the white parts of her face in embarrasment. She'd never been told she was beautiful, sure Ouro had once or twice said she was pretty, but she'd resigned herself to that being all she'd get from her mate. He was a little dense but she loved him all the same.
"Well... Kizaki didn't realize she was so big until she was standing in front of her father. She's just..... used to it?" She shrugged slightly and the cape on her back rippled over the muscles that were tight beneath her short fur.
Blinking up at her father again, she sniffed around for a second and smelled others, three others and her mother. They were all over the den but one smelled fainter... her mother smelled fainter. Was that a bad sign?
"Er... do you know where Kizaki's mother is? Kizaki... wants to appologize to her... for how she was such an idiot..." ninja

Jamaa laughed heartfully.
"Rain never used to bother me, Kizaki. But when you have a sprained paw," he brought up his sprained paw as he felt the pain again. It was gonna stay up. "But when you are out there all day and struggling to get home with mud and an injured paw hindering you....it hurts. But I wished I could have go looking for you but you see....things have happened."
He paused and laid himself down on his side so his injured paw was not pressured. "Your mother forbidded me to go looking for you as she was worried taht I would also disappear. But sometimes I wished I did so I could protect you. But other things have kept me back...you see, you have three more brothers now." he smiled at her. But then his mood fell quickly as he remembered Ryega....maybe he should not have said "three". "I mean, two. There are two of them, Kianjahe and Agizo. But that is not all, there is another male with us now, I took him in, his name's Kiangazi." His tone was that of happiness. But it hurt him that he had to lie about Ryega. Who knew what she'd do if she knew about Ryega.....
"As for your mother....well, I honestly do not know. She ran away from the pack not too long ago with Tahu and me....I cannot leave...."

"So then Kizaki has four new brothers and one is missing?" Kizaki said instantly, her nose mapping out the four before her eyes. She smelled a little sick pup, a bug eating one, and a self conscious one that stuck with the little sick one and then there was a larger dog that she could smell as well.
The female wasn't dumb, her father danced around the subject of her missing brother by mentioning Kiangazi, but she could tell something was wrong. Maybe her brother had dissapeared the same way she had? Or maybe he was taken. If her father didn't tell her then she would never know, but either way the large female didn't like the smell of it at all.
"Well... you wouldn't have been able to follow Kizaki anyway. She went to try and find the ocean after the humans tried grabbing her and got lost all over the place." Kizaki let a sheepish laugh come from her muzzle and grinned, "And mother probably didn't want you to be hurt like she was just to follow after Kizaki."
In the back of her mind, Kizaki struggled with the idea that her mother hadn't wanted to see her ever again at all because her daughter had run instead of staying to help her. She was strong and at this point probably much larger than her mother, even as a pup the female knew she could have done something. She was the strongest female and smartest female that had been born into their pack, she could have done something.
"So... mother's gone again?" Stress lines pulled across Kizaki's features so tight that her arrows stretched out almost straight. Her tail stopped its wagging and her shoulders slumped where she stood, head hanging. She would never see her mother again would she? ninja

Jamaa sighed.
"There is no hiding it....there is four, three born and one adopted...but," he cut off. He turned away for a moment. "Your mother would be furious and heartbroken if she found out.... I promised.... I promised that this would not happen to her again." his golden eyes turned up to her. "Ryega.... my son was taken from me and he is too ill. He may even die without help. Kizaki, I am sorry..."
he rose to his three paws, the other up, and limped to her slowly. He was sorry that she was not able to meet him. He was sorry for not being able to save her. He was sorry...for everything. He hugged her softly and licked her.
"It would seem this family is breaking apart after you disappeared....your mother had lost her mind and I have too. Demani has abandoned us, Tahu has left with your mother, my son has been taken, Kizaki, this all happened because of me. If I had not met your mother this may not have happened to us....."
His body trembled and leaned against her. This was his fault. If it was not for him, Temari would not have lost Kizaki. That arrowhead would not have poisoned her. He would not have gotten her pregnant. He would not have let Ryega get taken away. He just felt horrible.

Gem eyes watched her father for a moment. Her father... HERS. She had known for the longest time that he was stronger and faster and more impressive than any dog she'd known in her entire life... and here he was blaming the lives of others on himself. Wishing that he'd never met her.
"You.... wish you hadn't even met us?" Kizaki said in a soft voice. "You call him your son... does that make Tahupotiki and Demani not your sons? Demani still loves you, he said so when he and Kizaki met two days ago... and he's not your son?"
Sure she was twisting a few things around, but it wasn't helping her that he'd spoken like she wasn't his and that his son was the only one.....
Anger flared. Normally she woudln't have gotten so mad, she was a laid back dog and she didn't condone violence though she had no problem with it. Her tail curled up over her back and she lunged, teeth closing inches from the end of his muzzle as she stood over him.
Every muscle on her body stood out against her fur, showing how alone she'd been, showing how strong she'd gotten from being alone. Months of wandering to find the ocean and thinking she had no family to go back to.. months of hunting for herself and struggling to keep moving.
"You blame yourself for everything? How can you do that?! How can you say that you wish you never met my mother, wish you'd never met ME!?" Kizaki snarled, her eyes red and her shoulders shaking. She couldn't believe what she was even hearing. All this time she hadn't thought of him as some strong male that had replaced her blood father, he WAS her father. If her mother hadn't met him then odds were good they'd all have died long ago and yet here he was blaming himself for what ahppened to all of them? "This is MY fault, I was the one that dissapeared, I never came back because I thought I saw my mother die. Everything fell apart because of me."
Whirling and slamming a paw so hard into the wall that her claws dug into it and blood splattered everwhere, Kizaki howled angrilly and stalked to the entrance to the den once more. ninja

Jamaa sighed and rose up again. His eyes were distant until he heard the hard thud and then the howl. His eyes flickered to the vibrant golden color and his attention came back to Kizaki. She just hurt herself. Quickly he got to his feet, forgetting his pain again, and came to her.
"Forgive me, I was not thinking right. I may be strong and fast and loving and protective but when it comes to smarts, I am very bad. Ryega's my....first born, I love all of you with my heart. Tahu, Demani, Agizo, Kianjahe, Kiangazi, Ryega, you, and your mother, you are my life....when I lost you Kizaki...you could not believe what happened....."
The large copper-brown dog nuzzled her softly and looked outside, still raining....still thundering..... his eyes turned back to her and smiled. Time for a subject change.
"You look like you could hunt solo like me. But I wonder if you can take on a grown male like your own father. I am sure my mix of Wild Dog and Hyena skills can work with your....mix."
Jamaa hopped away and crouched low, wagging his tail, smiling. A sad attempt to brighten the mood of a dark day.

Gem eyes flicked to him and in her anger Kizaki bristled abruptly. She didn't like the rain suddenly, though normally she loved it. The nuzzle also did absolutely nothing for her, it just added to her rising anger because she did KNOW that he cared, she did KNOW that he could be her father no matter what.
But did he act like it?
No, right now he was acting like some of the creatures she'd met along her way to the ocean. He was acting worse than that pup....
Shaking her head and trying to rid herself of the thoughts of anger, trying to work herself into a talkative mood since she didn't know that she would ever see her father again... didn't know that she would see any of them aside from Demani again. Though she had to admit that it did hurt her that she couldn't see her mother or her older brother. She'd missed Poki so.
"Kizaki is the best hunter in the Mtima next to her Jeuri and sometimes her mate if Ouro's paying attention." A small chuckle came from her muzzle lightly as she thought of Ouro and how he hunted. Sometimes he caught the hare, sometimes he leapt and it slid betwen those great big paws of his. "But Kizaki KNOWS she can beat her father."
At that she let a wry grin cross her muzzle. ninja

"Mate? Ouro?"
Okay, this subject and conversation changed completely. Jamaa sat down and puffed his chest out though that always happened if he wanted to or not. He narrowed his eyes and watched her closely. So Kizaki had disappeared and came back as a beautiful female and she had a mate? Jamaa had never met this "Ouro" before. Was he good enough for her? Was he kind to her? Was he sweet? Caring? Protective?
"And who is this Ouro?"
His tone much more serious and somewhat intimidating. It seemed like he did it too with Yakuti when he said he had a mate. By now, those pups of his would be born. Made a note to ask of Temari would come along if she ever returned.....
"Will I meet this...'mate' of yours?"
It seemed like his entire speel of being a horrid father just disappeared as this topic came up. Who was he? What was he? Where? Why? How? His eyes narrowed on her, piercing, drilling, cutting. Who is this male who was gonna have his precious and only daughter? He had to informhis own mate when she returned with Poki. The rest of the conversation seemed to disappear but leaving this topic at hand.
"Kizaki."

A chuckle came from Kizaki's golden and white muzzle and she cast a glance over at her father through her shimmering green eyes, the lightning reflecting off of them sharply. Her father was still her father deep down, it just took the right wording to get him to come out and show his colors.
"Ouro is Kizaki's mate." She winked at him jovially and swished her tail as it curled over her back. "And you'll meet him when you come to visit sometime unless Kizaki can convince him to leave his duties to visit her home."
She had wanted to tell him earlier, almost at the first few moments she saw him again, but here she was. Wincing slightly she took all the weight off of her front paw as it continued to bleed. Odds were good she'd hit the rock so hard she'd split the skin somewhere on her paw, she just didn't know where.
"So mom's not here and Poki's not here, Demani's back at Kizaki's pack with his girlfriend. And there are two other little ones hanging around?" Her eyes glanced at her father softly. "Kizaki's family has gotten much bigger recently it seems." ninja
