Yes.

No.

... Yes.

Then again... maybe not.

If there was something Ushaufu hated, it was feeling torn; he hated it even over being confused, he'd decided. Long past was the time he'd felt confused; instead now he simply felt torn and undecided. It showed in the way the god moved, first a few steps to the right, then turning square to the left and padding a few steps that way before promptly repeating the process. It was nerve recking for him, and he knew he had to make his mind up sooner or later, but... his mind really wasn't up to complying at the moment.

Right, left... yes, no.

... Damn

Frustrating as it was, even someone like Ushaufu knew deep down what the right choice was; it was deciding if he should cower away from it and run as he'd been doing for what might've seemed like many moons was better than facing the problem. He knew he couldn't run away forever; it'd seemed like a good idea at girl, but by now... he wasn't entirely too sure of his own choices.

Restless as he felt, Deception took a moment to pause in his steps and sit down, his long tail flicking over the arid almost desertic lands. Thinking was his thing, he figured, yet he'd been doing entirely too much of that as of late, and it'd yet to help him in his little problem, thus as he sat, Ushaufu finally decided that perhaps it was time to stop thinking and start listening to his heart instead. His heart was quite clear in what it wanted and so the god stood up, turning to to the left instead of the right. His head was held low, his wings partially spread for all to see, used mostly as a parasol to keep the heat off his head.

There was, after all, only so much his partial mane could do to keep the sun at bay.

Much like the old days, his figure quite resembled death personified; however, much unlike the old days, he was large, finally grown, resembling more a large cougar than the lion he was. The locks of mane that fell unevenly, disarranged over his red eyes only adding to the over all effect. The green mass of hair moved along his spine too, jagged, a deathly color that matched the bones the creaked and cracked as his wings moved.

It was about time he stop running away from himself and... he fess up. Even if it meant getting slapped. Even if it meant being hated; he'd fess up and then leave if she so wished to. That way his conscience would finally let him sleep at night; sleep had been far and in between since he'd left after all, as evident by the bags that hang from his eyes. But then again, it'd been his own damned fault, he'd decided.

Not for falling in love, but for running away.

This thought firmly in mind, the large male moved towards the distant trees that grew far away in the background. It was dry and dead... but it was also home.

She'd left Mo'onasi in the forest with Kimaji. Trying to feel as though she wasn't being a neglectful parent, Kizuka padded along through the hills and furrows of billowing sand with a heavy heart. They could have gone to the tribe already, with how much time this was taken. She could have left her daughter with more protection than a broken Lioness who didn't have the will or strength to feed herself. Even the thought that Varg was watching them wasn't more than the smallest of comforts. Still, what else could she do? She certainly couldn't take the both of them out into this heat! No... if she was going to search for Ushuafu, it was becoming more and more apparant that she would have to go it alone... the best way to do it would be to go fast, and get back quickly.

Headed further out now from the tree she'd last seen Ushuafu under, Kizuka kept careful watch over where she was going. It wouldn't be hard to get lost, especially if the wind started blowing over her tracks. Not to mention that poisonous creatures were all about, and that was certainly a hassle that she didn't need to deal with right now. Of course, it would make perfect sense, wouldn't it? A jaded, bitter voice in the back of her mind couldn't help but snicker and mock at her. It bit at her ears and teased her eyes into stinging with hopeless tears.

It was happening again.

Kizuka stopped in her tracks just as the sun was beginning to set on the horizon. She closed her eyes against the pressure, and let herself get lost in thought as the heat began to seep quickly as it had come from the sand and rocks all about her. The tears were more important.. the knot was more important.

Oh yes, that horrible knot that clung to the pit of her stomach. It wasn't hunger, though it had something to do with it, nor was it thirst. It was everything and nothing at the same time. She wanted to sit down and cry, becase that would be that would be the only way to get it out... but the few tears she let drip down her muzzle only made it grow larger. The desperation and depression sunk deeper as it occurred to her that this lump would never go away. It had begun years ago, when her pride had been destroyed before her eyes. It had deepend when her sister had disappeared, never to be seen again. When she'd realized she was pregnant with a cub she didn't want, and the guilt of that feeling made it grow when she met the daughter she'd been 'sentanced' with.

Triv'an's departure had hardened the ball, and the memory of each day spent with Ushuafu now felt like a kick in the stomach. How long ago had she betrayed him? When had she fallen in love with a child? It made her want to retch, what she had done, and she knew it was the reason he had left. That she'd thought it'd be okay to make passes at him because he was near adulthood was the worst part of it all! And though Varg would say nothing, Kizuka knew he blamed her... rightly so.

Her daughter was living in a dying land, and now Kizuka had another dependant to look after. This would be her last trip into the deserts, because she could not afford another. She was giving up on him, and that feeling was the worst of all. But did she deserve to have him back?

A brush against her paw forced her eyes open and they widened at the sight of one of her biggest fears in the desert. A scorpion was walking right past her, brushing its hard shell against and through the fur of her paw as it did. One wrong move and she'd have its liquid death shooting through her system in a hearts beat. The Lioness gulped as that bitter voice laughed at the irony of something so big cowering from something so small.

Nothing happened, however. The scorpion passed without the slightest threat to her person, and Kizuka let out a deep sigh of relief. The sigh turned into a strangled sob. Biting her lip, the lioness sat down and squeezed her eyes shut once more. That was a sign, she knew, from the spirits. She was feeling sorry for herself and that had to stop! She would find Ushaufu, she would apologize, and she would bring him home.

She had to.

Rising, the lioness once more opened her eyes facing down into the desert sands. By the light of the moon that was rising above--blessedly full and clear this night--she suddenly saw something she hadn't noticed there before. .... there was a print. It was larger than her own paw when she compaired it, and it was headed towards the valley rather than towards it! A small spark of hope kindled in Kizuka's heart, as did a twinge of fear. Was this lion oasis or her...

She left his title off in her mind, instead moving to track the direction the paws went. It was a strange pattern, for they would sway from side to side. Occassionally the stracks stopped all together, then they would pick their dance back up. More and more this seemed to hold the sign of Ushaufu, constantly fighting with himself over where to go and what to do. Did he want to come home, then?

Kizuka let off a soft, sharp growl at herself. She was getting her hopes up; never a good idea! Instead, she bent herself back to reading the tracks. It was too cold to get a good sent from them, things like smell being less active in lower temperatures, but what she did scent was vaguely familiar. It was then that the wind brought her a sound.

The sickening cruching and popping was music to her ears, and Kizuka felt her heart soar. The lump didn't disapate, but she ignored it as she climbed her way over the next dune to see Ushuafu's back as he headed towards the distant trees of Umandem'funi.

Oh how she wanted to call out... but her heart was too strongly lodged in her throat.

He wasn't entirely sure what he rather; the cold night wind, or the scorching heat of the day. Tell truth, had someone asked Ushaufu then and there, he'd have probably told them to screw off. However, he was alone with his thoughts for the time being and thus his mind processed the options; cold or heat? Which was prefered?

The stupid question was enough to keep his mind off from more pressing, more threatening thoughts that keep on trying to bubble up. There was no remorse in his train of thought, or even in is actions, but there was a slight hint of hesitation within each step he took, mostly fueled by fear, or perhaps by anticipation. But then again, whom told him she'd not already left that dieing land? Why was he trying?

His heart demanded he tread on however, and thus, tired of listening to his mind and brain, the god padded onward. It was that same heart however, that suddenly demanded he stop in his tracks just barely a moment later. The contradiction forced the large male to a puse, his brow furrowing as he allowed himself to sit down. Why had he stopped? His heart had not changed it's mind in it's ultimate goal, so why was he sitting, just a few hours away from the distant trees?

The winds answered his question as the suddenly changed directly and blew past him, against his wings; they carried a faint scent with them and though it was one he'd not hoped to smell again, it was instantly recognisable. Blinking, the god's nostrils flared, almost as if afraid he was wrong, however the comfirmation came as his mind recognised the faint smell. It was enough to force his head slowly towards the hills that lay behind him.

Her siluette was edged against the moon, and all the god could do was stare, afraid to blink, almost as if figuring that such an action would erase all trace of her presence there, as if she were one of those illusions he was by now so used to casting. But no, the wind told him otherwise; she was real, and her scent was suddenly stronger, around him.

He'd later question when he'd gotten up and padded towards her, because for the life of him, he could not remember doing any of this; he was meters away from her, and then suddenly he was standing before her. The idle thought that he was by now, in fact, much larger than her crossed his mind, and it was only then that he actualy finaly noticed that he'd grown. It was irrelevant, and a slightly futile thought at the time being, specialy with the flood of thoughts that had begun to drown his mind, however... as much as he tried, his vocal cords would not work properly.

His maw parting slightly once only to shut was the only hint of this before he frowned. It was only after much work that he managed a single word, "Kizuka..." it wasn't even a question, but a statement; it was the only one word that made sense in his mind. That aside, all other coherent ideas for action had vanished.

I'm sorry?

I've come to apologise? For running again? For loving you?

You're allowed to slap me? Kill me?

Why the hell are you so thin? And why the hell are you out here? And where's Kimaji? And, and, and.

There were too many 'and's and there were far too many questions, and all he could do was stare and hope she could see them in his red eyes, because talking was too much of an effort at the moment, even despite what he heart was screaming for him to do; nuzzle her, hug her, do something!

All he could do was stare.

He stiffened, then looked, and he knew she was there. Somehow that meant all the world to her, even though rationally it must have been the wind that brought her scent to him. It was almost enough to change her religious belief to a god of the winds, rather than the storms.. ut then, didn't the storms bring the winds with them? How odd was it that in this moment the only thing her mind could supply her with was inane banter? And he was coming towards her...

A part of Kizuka wanted to run herself, especially now that it dawned on her that he'd grown. The tiny little cub she'd met so long ago was no longer the same Lion that stood before her. This Lion, though facing obvious differences in appearance, was larger and stronger than she'd ever imagined he would seem. Despite her love--yes, love--for Deception, he'd always been much more of a thinker than a physical sort of character. Yet, the looming presence was somehow inviting, and she blushed to realize it was the more feminine part of her that felt that way. Triv'an certainly hadn't been much larger than she, and there'd been no question as to who would be able to win a fight between the two. To tell the truth, it'd been more than obvious that Triv'an was more than a little afraid of her and had been their entire lives.

Ushaufu, however, was different. Even the spiky, disheveled tuft of a mane he sported was charming. Rather than be a fault it seemed to add a rugged appearance to his person, making him seem wild and carefree... as he was sure to have been these past few moons. He was only a few meters away now, when he stopped, his wings spread slightly against the moon and eyes wide as they watched her own.

The beat of her heart against the back of her mouth almost choked her--moreso when he spoke her name so softly. A million and more questions began to burst at the back of her mind, so fast and darting that Kizuka hadn't a thought where to begin. One step forward, a hesitant, half-step back, and then she strode forward to him again. Now they were nose to nose, and her honey eyes searched his even as his returned the unasked questions.

When she found her voice it wasn't what she wanted to say. Indeed, it wasn't at all the face she'd ever wanted to show him, and yet.. here it was.

That dam inside of her broke.

"Where have you been?" The words, scarsely whispered, were harsh on her water partched tongue. Worse, the tone broke halfway through as he ears laid back, tail tuckng between her legs and she felt the first drop of moisture run its way down the side of her muzzle.

Where had he been indeed? Everywhere and nowhere at the same time, his mind supplied. He'd really not been looking; he'd just padded on and on, and on and on. He'd stopped only when he simply could not find it in himself to take another step, were it from hunger or lack of sleep, however this answer hardly seemed like the right one and thus the god frowned.

"Lost..."

It was a whisper, a ghost of a word, truly, but it defined his situation so well the god closed his eyes against her image, almost not baring to open them in fear she'd vanished while doing so. The warmth that radiated from her, just a mere inch away from him however, told him she was in fact, still there, and quite alive indeed, "Been lost," he whispered it again while opening his eyes, even as her nose lay against his.

Truthfully lost; inside his own mind and within this land to boot. He'd never trailed all too far away from it anyhow; he'd been unable to. He'd tried and failed, coming back, staying a day's flight away from the trees he knew lay beyond the horizon; it was too compelling, as as much as he'd wandered in circles, thinking... thinking, the tug was still present. Not only to the land, but to her too. Lost was the only way he could descrive where he'd been, because... he'd been everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

He moved before he was even aware he was doing so, the reaction instinctive as her tears shed; his head dipped forward, his tongue slipping out to lick the stray tear as it slid down her maw, his touch lingering there, perhaps just a tad longer than it should have before he simply tossed caution to wind. Enough was enough, however his mind was simply no longer trailing the rational path it'd set course to tread. Taking another step forward he dipped his head, embracing her with both neck chest and one paw, as best as a four legged creature could offer, his wings suddenly spread to cover most of both their bodies, successfully blocking out most of the moon's light, "Been lost without you."

Which was inevitably, the truth, as far as he was concerned.

In the back of his mind, rationality seemed to be trying to tell him that letting go of her was by now a good idea, but nor his body nor his heart would listen at this point, and thus Ushuafu clung on to her; it would be vaguely amusing to look back to, for the fact he was able to embrace her and partialy hide her... was oddly entertaining, when just moons back it'd been the other way.

I think I love you.

... I know I love you. I can't love you. I still love you thought.

I'm sorry. For running, for leaving, for making you cry. I'm just... sorry. For everything. For me, for you.

None of this was able to pass through his throat; it all died half way, however, a thought finaly passed through the flood of questions, his eyes closed against her pelt, "Can you forgive me?" for everything. The last words went unsaid, however they hung around him as he clung onto her form as if she were the only thing that kept him chained to the phisical world.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 31, 2007 2:59 am

Somehow that one word seemed to explain it all. She accepted it at face value like she'd accept nothing else. Even with this good, solid explanation, the tears continued to roll and Kizuka tried to squeeze her eyes closed agaisnt them. He touched her, then, licking the tears away and pulled her to him. A sob came, soft and crass, and the lioness turned her face into the fur of his chest. Rational mind slipped away for a time as the tears rolled, and her thin body shook with sobs that went silent past the first one. But slowly relief took the place of the intense burden she'd felt laid upon her shoulders for so long. The knot in her stomach began to untie itself, loostening until it was but the thinnest of loops.

There was only one more thing left unsaid.... and Ushaufu asked it first.

Kizuka sniffled, reminding herself in that moment of a barely weaned cub. She raised a paw to wipe her tears, and sat a little straighter against him. The moment she'd begun to pull away her body stopped her--she didn't want to pull away. Instead, she pressed back into him, as close as they could get to one another, and she turned her muzzle up towards his ear, running her head gently under his jaw line in a tender nuzzle.

What was he asking forgiveness for? Surely, he hadn't done anything. If anyone was at fault, it was her for driving him to this confusion; for sending him out to be lost in the desert, and for not coming for him sooner. It took many tries to unglue her tongue, but unglue it she did. "What is there to forgive, Ushaufu? ...come home. Just, please, come home. I--we miss you so, so much."

There wasn't much to forgive, he thought idly, especially since he didn't quite feel remorse for what he'd done; it seemed to be beyond him to feel guilty for loving her, at this point. He wasn't ashamed of what he'd done, but rather uneasy for her reaction once she found out.

Surely she'd shun him.

But he'd made up his mind before setting off towards the trees, and what little Deception made up his mind about, he carried out. For the better or the worse, as had been proven by the fact he had long back decided to run away; he would've probably stayed away from the trees too, had she not found him, "Lots to forgive, lots to say, lots bloody well left unsaid," his voice was tired, laced with a sigh as he let go of her partially, signaling the fact he was starting to think a bit more rationally. However, he did not step away, instead moving his head so it lay above hers as he allowed her to rub herself under his chin, "I don't know Kizuka; sorry for everything, and sorry for nothing too, I guess."

Her words were heaven to him; he knew that somewhere beyond the reach of the mortals, there lay a heaven, a place only gods could reach, but in the male's eyes, that place didn't quite reach the proportions needed for it to be all too heavenly. His home, however, as dead a place as it was... as ruined a place as it was, did hold the qualities needed for it to be heavenly.

It just needed a bit of a push, he figured.

Much like himself.

"I will..." a pause as he corrected himself, "I had been heading there when you found me, tell truth; though I have no idea what I was thinking, walking around like this," his wings twitched as a motion before the vanished altogether from sight, "I've not been myself lately; every thing's changed. Even that Oasis changed. Gone is it's ruler, heavy with cubs was the young cub I sort of played with last time I went," another pause as his eyes narrowed, "Every thing's changed; everything changes. I changed too," it was at this point that the male finally pulled away from her warmth, just barely enough to be able to look her in the eyes.

As much as he'd changed, his eyes hadn't; it was the same look, and same color shinning within them. Even under such little light as the moon offered, "I feel..." looking much as if he were fishing for words, the god had to concentrate in not looking away from her brown eyes, "For you... more than I should," it was probably a miracle his eyes remain on hers, and later on he'd feel damn proud of such a feat, but for now, as large as he was, Ushaufu was feeling quite small indeed, "I felt you had the right to know..." this was beyond awkward, as was obvious by the fact his tail swayed, twitched and curled behind him, his paws unable to rest in one spot for long, "I figured it'd disgust you and I didn't want to hurt you."

It seems I did anyhow though.

Life wasn't all that fair. But then again, he'd known that from the start; there was no such place as heaven, only life and earth, and all the creatures in it. The rest was a void, meaningless; one had to leave to feel happiness, sadness, love and pain. It all came neatly wrapped up in the packet, and there was no avoiding some of it.

Thus was the lesson he'd learnt.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 31, 2007 4:32 pm

Oh yes, things had changed. Kizuka wondered if that was a little bitter, but it didn't matter now. No, all that mattered way the Lion--cub--no.. Lion was correct, holding her against him. With a shock she realized what she was thinking and resisted the urge to pull away. He let her go a moment later, and lowered his head to eye level of hers.

And for a moment, the merest moment, Kizuka's world froze. He didn't mean what she thought, did he? He did! What reason would he have to be so nervous; or what could he possibly mean other than.... Her brain tried to stick on that throught. She loved him, so much, and for the longest time she'd thought there was no way he could--

Ushaufu obviously thought the same of her. Her inital surprise begining to fade, Kizuka was saved from pure shock by the hilarity of their little drama. A "Comedy of Errors' One might term it. Certainly there wasn't a lot here that was overtly funny, but once you had thought about it and disengaged yourself from the situation it was amusing to an end. It was through this that she was able to find her reply.

"Ushu..." She said, as softly as her voice would allow. For a moment Kizuka closed her eyes, mouth open as she got a taste of her words before she uttered them. "... if that is how you feel, there's no need to apologize for it." Her eyes opened again, meeting his. Kizuka leaned in to gently brush the side of her muzzle against his, "Wrong or right, I feel the same for you."

Oh.

... wow.

Wait, huh?

His mental capacity went no further than that, and the god found himself blinking rapidly, almost as if the motion would help clear hismind; help him think something a bit more coherent to say, however, he couldn't for the life of him manage such a simple task. Instead, his mouth opened, and then closed, no sound having come out of it, making him look like a gapping fish that'd been tossed out of the water.

There was no fear, rather, he seemed to have been struck dumb by her few words, "Oh..." oh wow, indeed. Such were his most coherent thoughts as he frowned, only to arch both brows, "Ooooooh..." he really needed to acumulate further more eloquent words than a simple 'oh' for when he was caught by surprise, truthfully, because this was silly, and it was probably making him look as stupid as he felt.

A long paused followed, after which the god seemed to add two and two finaly, however, he had the decency to actualy look sheepish as he pulled away from the female, seeking her eyes, "Wait, does that mean you're not disgusted at me, and thus you're not going to slap me and run me away? he knew the answer to that, but his mind, cryptic in it's own functioning demanded he ask and make sure, for his own safety, because truthfully, he'd never encountered anyone, mortal or otherwise, capable of rendering him speechless.

And Kizuka had managed to such a feat far too many times for Deception to count on his paws; she may not have been a god to others, out lack of wings, really, but in his mind, she was a goddess, far greater than any other he'd ever seen, and deep down... he knew her wings were there. Invisible to the eye, but there, just barely there, emerging from her shoulder blades.

... Also, come to think of it, no one'd ever called him Ushu. That was cute. For a nickname; it was better than Fufu anyhow. He had to refrain from mentioning this.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 01, 2007 1:05 am

Kizuka's ears folded back against her skull. First her eyebrows perked with surprise, then sank in something akin to displeasure. A part of her wanted to be angry that he'd ever think such a thing of her, but that damned logical side argued the painfully obvious: she'd assumed the same things of him. With a soft sigh, Kizuka's chin sank a moment as her eyes rose to focus upon his face, "Ushu... I could be asking the same thing of you. ... I... Even though i thought there was no way you'd return my feelings for you, I still made advances."

She paused, and gave a slight cough. "Well, I made one advance.. the day you left. I thought...." Kizuka had to turn her face away at this. She swallowed, an audible noise in the still of the night about them. "Well, its neither here nor there, is it? The point is that no, I'm not disgusted... I came to terms with my feelings for you so long ago that I... I'm relieved more than anything else."

A small laugh found its way bubbling up Kizuka's throat, and hesitantly she allowed it to escape into the night air. "I'm happy. I hadn't ever dared hope..." Her head raised ,meeting his eyes again as her ears perked. The situation was awkward, certainly not how a romantic person would ever have envisioned this moment, but Kizuka didn't mind. So long as he didn't run away again, she wouldn't mind. There was something that needed to be stated plainly, however.

"I love you, Ushaufu."

Advances. What was that?

It was almost overpowering he point out he had no bloody what an 'advance' was, her being most likely first female he'd interacted with long enough to even share names with, aside his sister, however, instead he settled for raising both brows down at her, almost as if willing to silently point out she'd met him with the body of a cub, and had grown out of it with her.

There was no way he could've told what an advance was. What she'd hoped had been an 'advance' he'd taken a sheer act of care and kindness on her part. It was confussing, but he didn't question it and instead nodded slowly, deliberatly, almost as if figuring such was the only thing he could do after the truth had been voiced it.

Truth, was not his realm after. It was managed with huge difficulty.

The reaction to her last words was instant; his ears perked at them, twitched. He'd heard those words before, from her sister, her 'brother', and he was sure he'd heard them from their mother so long ago, but the meaning in those words difered greatly from the meaning he was sure to have heard weaved into this lioness' voice, "I love you too," it was instinctive, and he'd said it before he noticed he'd even opened his mouth, coming out naturaly out of him, and the moment the phrase was released, he felt a huge weigh lift off his shoulders; he wasn't sure if it was denial, or of it was something else.

Tell truth, he couldn't care less either.

"Not going anywhere," he needed to voice that too, almost as if he were reading his mind, his eyes narrowing before they opened somewhat wider, his frame lowering to the ground as he wings reappeared, large, spread under the night sky; the pose was somewhat inviting, as if expecting her to cimb on, knowing fully well he could carry her, but his thoughts remin a mistery till he smirked, traced of his old self washing over the earlier confusion, "Not without you; besides, I've been worried. You're not healthy. i'm not going back without fetching something for you and your girl. And we're not going to get it back home," a pause, "Fly with me."

It was an invitation, more than a comand as he lowered his head to the ground, moving it in what he hoped was an inviting way.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 01, 2007 1:41 am

With but a few words the tension seemed to be cut. Kizuka felt it roll off her shoulders and down her back into the dust like a great tidal wave, and behind it came relief. As she watched, he laid himself down before her and offered her the most interesting invitation she'd ever been given.

Hiding her surprise, Kizuka blinked at him a memre moment before she climbed to her feet. Fly? How... she had never considered flight in any realm of possibility, but of course she'd rarely seen Ushaufu's wings unfurled, no matter that she had known he had them. This was a huge test of trust on her part, but she pretended that it wasn't. Steping forward, Kizuka offered him a nuzzle against his ear before figuring out a way to climb upon his back as he seemed to be indicating she should.

It was only there that it occurred to her that he might not have a clue what 'advances' were. Or... even... Where he couldn't see, Kizuka's eyes widened a touch. She'd had that talk with her daughter and she might need to have it with her... her... What should she call him?

The lionesses ears laid back and she closed her eyes. That was not a good topic to get into right now, and she forced the ever-logical side of her brain to shut up. For the Gods' sake, shut up... irony be damned. Kizuka wrapped her front paws as best she could about his shoulders, shaking a little with nervousness. it was more than a little obvious now just how much he had grown in the time they'd spent apart. The lioness's muzzle fit itself into the thick fur at the back of his neck, and she pretended not to think about the fact that her paws would be no where near solid ground in a matter of moments.

In order to help her nerves, she mentioned softly, "Kimaji misses you too. I would have taken her with me, but the desert heat isn't good for her... She's back with Varg and... and another lioness we met a few days ago."

"Another lioness, huh?"

Ushaufu was slightly proud to note that the words didn't bubble up an sort of jelousy; had it been 'another lion', he might've just sent hima death glare upon entrance, but truthfully, another 'lioness' did not seem to represent a problem within his mind. He made sure he would not mention any of his presents thoughts to her either, just in case they were to win him a smack over the top of the head; from her position, it would've been quite easy for her to do.

It was also both irritating and comforting at the same time knowing that Varg had remain within Mistweaver land. It showed him the old Hawk had known to stay there and wait for him; he'd known he'd be back. God damn that hawk, "Varg's a good babysitter," he knew this from experience after all, however, all he could manage was a half smirk as she looked her out the corner of any eye.

He took that chance then, before she could think twice about getting off; his wings moved, flapped once or twice, lifting them up both into the air with perhaps a slight bit more difficulty than they would've him alone; he managed however, and the cover of the dark sky would keep them ocult, "I passed a herd on my way here," it was an excuse, really, and at the same time it wasn't; she looked like she needed to eat a whole bloody elephant. This certainly wasn't the lioness he'd met so long ago by those rocks, before entering the mistweaver territory, was she?

Tag, he thought, the game is yours, Kizuka, you win; and I'm not even angry about it.

He smirked.
