| Accompaniment |Other Companions
Often in the pool room of the Mer-ladies, this little one is often running amok the area when she isn't sunbathing.
A docile fish, this 'ray is an occupant (and pet) of the pools with the Mer-ladies.

| Prelude ~ Recollections of Arrival | n/a - backstory Asheris He arrived without much introduction, a random passerby that decided to lurk about more initially, watchful of any events that would occur. While still new to the realm (both shop thread and B&C sub-forum), he had a staccatoed attendance record, unsure if he could fit in due to past troubles on other forums.
As time moved on, he vanished for some time to deal with some issues that had cropped up outside of Gaia, and while he had thought that he would have to give it up, relief came in the form of a white light that guided him out of the abyss and into the warmth. This is not a part of life that he had enjoyed, but it was one that he could not avoid no matter which path he had chosen.
A slow return which became stronger gradually. Not really interested in some of the shops that have grown larger than remember, he re-settled back into Kipestshin's Medusa Shop and found that he enjoyed the company there more than anywhere else. While it may be pathetic to think the people he had shortly interacted with as the people who have made the transition toward normal life just a little bit easier, it is how he regards those he have met since returning (not just in the Medu Shop, but also in a few others).
Since the return, he has found himself in possession of a few new house companions.

| Suite ~ Tension I | n/a - backstory Vesh'meris He felt the sun's rays fall on his form, warming him to rouse and rise from his bed. Feeling incredibly well, he took his time to prep himself before descending the stairs. However, as he did he heard an unfamiliar voice and laughter. Continuing quietly, he turned the corner that led to the lounge where The Human was apparently entertaining another.
When his eyes fell upon the individual that The Human appeared at ease (and happy) with, he felt his anger rise from the sizzling embers they had been. How dare THAT Human bring another one of his kind to the home!
As he slithered over, both turned--The Human tensing while the Female Human smiled--their gazes to him. The latter, he noted, had her eyes bound by a translucent blindfold as she spoke. "Hello, you must be Vesh'meris. I am Lesthyx."
Immersed in his thoughts, he ignored the handshake and the greeting, then picked the Female Human by its belt without much effort and cast her out of front door. Shifting to The Human, he found that it stood before him with emerald eyes darker with emotion. The Human's voice was steadily serious with a tinge of malice, "You had no right to do that, Vesh'meris. She was a guest and you threw her out for when she had done nothing more than greet you. Warmly, might I add."
"She intrudes in this space, this home." He replied coolly, enjoying the spicy taste of The Human's anger. "And I have every right to do as I please, and if that includes getting rid of what I deem as trash, so be it, Human."
"You're impossible." Without another word, The Human exited through the front door after the one that had been thrown out as trash. Rolling his eyes and waving a hand as though to brush off the words, his feathers snapping loudly, he spat, "Humans. I'll never understand them."
"Why do you trouble him so much?" A voice rose from across the room.
Shifting, he found N'meivhil reclined on a couch that had been out of is range of vision. Indifferently replying, "Because The Human is pitiful to think so highly of himself. I am only putting The Human in its place, Nem."
"You're some piece of work, Vesh'meris. Some piece of work," the Dragon Medusa closed his book and rose fluidly. "He's done nothing short of give us a home, warmth, food, comfort, and stayed out of your way."
"So?" His eyes moved to focus on his fingers which preened the feathers that were folded a little after his wrist. "Your point?"
"You do not understand how much he cares for all of us, do you?" N'meivhil said, his voice neutral despite the obvious agitation that bubbled beneath. He shrugged in response, "The Human doesn't really, so why should I pretend that its true like the rest of you?"
He continued before the Dragon Medusa could speak, "You bore me, Nem, with your attempts to defend him. I have no need of a stripling telling me what to do when I can and am fully able to do so on my own."
As he turned, he thought he tasted defeat emanating from the other but realized how wrong he was when a hand seized his wrist and jerked to turn him about to face the gold-green eyes, which flared with more emotion than the facial expression they belonged to.
Though he could hardly be moved by the emotion anger, the intensity of it coming from N'meivhil did. Attempting to speak as calmly as he could, he found he had lost his voice. so.
N'meivhil glared though his expression didn't change. "I am no 'stripling' when there is half a decade more experience in life on my end. Of all Medusaes to learn, you have a great deal to catch in generosity and compassion."
Silent, he stood shocked, even as N'meivhil released his wrist. "You would do well to pay attention from now on, Vesh'meris. You owe him an apology if not kindness from this moment on for what he has done for you and the rest of us. Keep that in mind when you reflect."
Not a word more, the Dragon Medusa silently left the lounge, leaving him to the roaring silence of his thoughts. Subconsciously rubbing his wrist, he went to a window which faced outward to the front yard. Looking through the translucent ivory curtain, he saw The Human and its friend sitting faced away from the home. What transpired between them, he was unable to discern. Why do I hate him so much?

| Suite ~ Tension II | n/a - backstory N'meivhil Unable to understand the drive of Vesh'meris, he sought solitude in the gardens that occupied part of the pools of the Mer-ladies. Upon entry through the double-door entrance, he found himself amidst a more humid environment for the plant life.
The elliptical pool was set in the center of the room which had a crystal paned roof. Outlining the edge of the pool was a five feet of inlaid marble and obsidian, beyond that was at least ten or more feet of grass. This section of the home was much in itself a greenhouse, except the design was made more for the Aquatic Mermaids.
Lining an edge and several corners of the massive room were various species of trees, specifically positioned so that the room at mid-day would be half-shaded. A splash and mellifluous laughter filled the air when he entered. A glance in the direction, he found the Doushikai, Vincent, entertaining the two Mer-ladies that resided here.
Making his way to a hammock suspended half in sunlight, he settled his lengthy body with his upper half in the dappled shade. Eyes closed, he listened to the movement of water and soft voices in the background. He drifted in and out of thoughts, nothing in particular sticking tangibly for recalling when a voice threaded with amusement and concern chimed near him. "'Tis a rare sight to see one of the terrestrial here in the day. What troubles ye?"
The voice, he could tell, belong to none other than the red and black hued Medusa since she had a flair for speaking in the old tongue. He replied, "Nothing for the moment."
He had no wish to trouble the mind of another with the issues Vesh'meris created. His eyes, flicked open, caught the aquatic Medusa with a turn of his head. Her red and black scales glimmered iridescently in and out of water, she was apparently sunbathing at the moment. Her tail fin in the pool played waves in the current, which was created by how the waters were fed by a natural river (filtered for debris and pathogens).
Though he knew her by sight and voice, they have not met personally. With a slight nod of his head, he extended his hand fluidly, "My apologies, I am N'meivhil."
"Vëlsechor, N'meivhil. Pleased to meet you, " she smiled, touching her webbed hand to his for a gentle handshake. Despite the sheen her skin had, it was dry and soft to the touch, almost as though they had been buffed them smooth by water itself. At the same time, her scales, each a shimmering coin of color, appeared to make the marble tile around the pool pale in color. He smiled, one that was indicated more in the eye than by the minor upturning of the corners of his lip. "The pleasure is all mine. Please call me Nem."
As she inclined her head, then looked away a moment, perhaps curiously wondering what the commotion was at the other end where the other Mer-Lady was being entertained by the Doushika, Vincent. Closing his eyes for a moment, he silently let his thoughts roll with the sounds of lapping water before rising from the hammock.
Bidding Vëlsechor a good day, he made his way back to his room after the sound of a splash indicated her return back to the company of the other aquatic Medusa and her entertainer.
While certain that Vesh'meris would not kill their human caretaker, he was wary of the more than apparent malice that the pale Medusa had toward humankind and knew that it was a poison in its own way. And that may prove to be stronger than we know...
